¿¿No es posible comenzar la restauración levantando el fondo primero y ya con el interior descubierto hacer la reparación o restauración más fácil teniendo en cuenta que la tapa del instrumento es mas importante que el fondo?Gracias.
I'm thinking this is a cheap guitar with a Gibson sting label glued to the back. Fun vid but..... having repaired a few old Gibsons and knowing their standard quality that fretboard would not be used by them.
I felt the same way. The clamp, the glue everything seems wrong yet it worked. There are some vegetal glue now available to repair wood instruments. Same can be said about clamps...those seems to be fit for making cabinet but in guitar repair, they are usually made of solid plastic.
thank you.i used strong acid cleaner like used in the toilet. The important thing is to wash it with a neutral soap at the end. Otherwise the rust will get worse.
Thank you for the entertainment. I must say, though, that I don't think I would recommend your techniques for restoration of a valuable guitar. It seemed more like a carpentry lesson than lutherie. I'm not convinced that it was a real Gibson, either.
you are right.this restoration was too difficult why every parts were deformation than i forecasted.but i think i can deliver this guitar sounds to many people than other guy got and restored this.thank you.
Roger, As you rather said, I too; am almost 100% sure that this guitar is NOT a Gibson. I do believe that orange colored piece of paper with the Gibson logo on it was either from a fairly modern pack of Gibson brand strings or from a package that some type of Gibson Guitar part once came in!! That diamond shaped label, visible under the finish on that Guitars headstock (if it is EVEN ORIGINAL), tells me this guitar might be an old "Regal" or something! Besides that, I don't believe that Gibson EVER produced a guitar with such BADLY OFF-CENTER, "painted-on" rosette rings such as those!! Ick!!! Nice effort at trying to restore it, though; my friend! As you replied to someone else, that ol' guitar was pretty delapidated!!
As nice as it turned out. That is not a real Gibson. More than likely a Chinese knock-off. Gibson never used that style of headstock or tune keys. That label is a real clue as well. Still turned out decent though!
One thing I seen right out the door is you sure know nothing about restoring or repairing a guitar> you never ever take a hammer to that neck the way you did. You drill 2 little holes in the fret right next to the front of the guitar body and steam that neck lose
A cheap crap guitar with the name 'Gibson' on the label. Oddly it has a real wood soundboard unlike their archtops which they coyly say are 'laminate' (plywood) unlike older Hofners which were carved from solid spruce and maple

Muy mala técnica de restauración solo le puso retazos en una madera desmejorada
