    Love the video. You stated you used 1/8" plastic, but which type? How did you get that texture on the door cards? Raptor liner? Appreciate your time and patience.

      It’s a textured plastic 1/8 thick. I wish I Could tell you the type but every time I order it I get the wrong stuff. I have a bunch of receipts for materials that I don’t know what’s what. If you go to a plastic supply store tell them your looking for a flexible textured plastic that’s black and you can cut it and drill it with out worrying about cracking it. They will know what your talking about. One sides smooth one sides textured. Stay away from acrylic. Thanks for watching!

      I get the plastic sheets from a local plastic supplier here in WA. I don’t know what it’s called. Just go into a plastic supply store near you and tell them that you want a black 1/8 inch plastic, textured on one side, easy to cut, and drill through, and they will get you set up. Thanks for watching.

    love the door panels! Have you had any trouble with the plastic warping under high heat days? Also, did you ever consider retainer clips? or just trying to use same screw holes? Trying to decide what to do since my bottom broke off.

      I live in Washington no problems with the panel’s deforming. My buddy’s used push trees but I wanted them tight and serviceable. The push trees are pretty much one time use, they brake and get sloppy.

    So I took the door panel off my 1998 Suzuki Sidekick Sport and sure enough a nice flat piece will cover all that bumpy cardboard papier-mâché that was in there but what about the top of the door where the lock button is as that is a sloppy part there.??

    • @paintnmotors2481

      Does the sports lock come through the metal frame up top?

    • @brucewmclaughlin9072
      @brucewmclaughlin9072 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@paintnmotors2481 Yes it comes up through the metal frame loosely and then through the cardboard/ fabric which holds it tighter. I guess some fabrication in wood or plastic to hold it in place would be required, can't have loose things rattling around.

      Look at mine In the video. If it’s the same metal skeleton. Then the older models have plastic trim clips to go around the push up locks. You should be able to fine some at a junk yard.

      @@paintnmotors2481 I see what you mean , I will have a look at the button collar next time I am out to the 4x4. The other item on the door panel will be a decent arm rest .
