Poking is a legit way of testing in science. Here is an example: After feeding the king penguin, scientists wait for a time period until penguins fall asleep and then poke them with a stick in order to see how easy it is to wake them up. This supposedly helps them understand penguins phases of sleep and metabolism...

True story. I watched this at the movies with my mother who I barely see as a get together to catch up. Because it’s a big fear most women have
@@LynetteTheMadScientist Speak for yourself not every woman wants kids
@@prixe12 Not every woman, but a lot of woman. Hell, even a lot of dudes want kids. It also definitely seems like the sort of thing that if you were unable to have kids that would only increase your desires to have them.
So, I'm a woman with no interest in having kids and never had an interest in having kids. Hell ... at the rate I'm going, I probably won't have an interest in having kids, ...and to be honest, I kind of get it. The idea that my choice to have a kid or not being taken away from me is a bit revolting. Maybe I'm just feeling some kind of sympathy. Like ... I'd find it horrible if I was suddenly pregnant, I can see why someone who would want to get pregnant would find it horrible if her uterus just walked away. To me, it isn't about life decisions as much as choice and being in control of one's own body.
That being said, it is still an overdone trope.
@@nevermore7285 so then why isn't it a thing in media that men can't have kids? there are men and women who can't have kids, there are men and women who want kids, but it's only a trope that women are infertile and distraught over it. bc it's a thing society considers as the value of women and bc women are usually blamed if a couple can't have kids.

I remember watching this at the age of 8-10, my parents let me watch since I was being a brat and refused to go to sleep so they decided to let me watch as well.
The incest and sex parts made me terrified. Of course my parents covered all of my senses to block those parts out, but they had bad hearing and I had good hearing, so I still heard what was happening and saw the shots with the kid listening in her parents. My parents sent me to sleep and I finally obliged after that part, but I came back to watch some more because I felt too scared to sleep at that point, and I was right when the incest shit was happening. I didn't speak up at that part and I wished I actually have, so my parents would stop me from watching. No. Sometimes sexual stuff can even add to horror. Maybe if the characters were actually smart and this movie was written with more than 1 braincell it'd be good
@@dnw009 obviously, one can.
one can do horror with a high level of violence. One can do horror where no violence occurs. One can do horror where none dies, and one can do horror where most of humanity is wiped out at the end... one can do horror without a hint of sex, and one can do horror all focused on sexual violence, be it metaphorically (alien) or in plain text.
I agree that presenting sexual violence in a direct way is very tricky to do in a way that doesn't feel exploitative... which is why most horror on the topic tends to rely on metaphor instead of having rape as an explicit part of the narrative. Nonetheless I think boundary pushing is vital to creation, even if the experiment doesn't completely succeed.

OH NO, NOOO I hope y’all just turned it off
“I’m old and I don’t got so much time to live, I ain’t spending it with your fish fetish bullshit.”
Oh. Oh no
Omg same ahahaha I was like wtf then blocked the movie from my memory
I watched it with my dad. We laughed all the way through it
"Regular romantic date night, creating abominations"
I mean... thats how i was made
my experience with this movie is that every time i thought "no... they sure wouldn't do THAT that's too twisted THEY FUCKING Did
This movie just feels like someone had an alien fetish and wanted to make it a regular movie lol
Splice is one of the only movies I've seen that left me feeling uncomfortable and gross for days after watching it.
it was gross, but in it's defense it intended to be, the whole point was that the characters took all the wrong decisions and did something bad and then the consecuences bit them in the ass, hard. it ended bad for them, so i would not really compare it to twilight that it's gross while intending to be romantic and have a happy ending where the main characters are rewarded for their shitty behavior instead of punished.
You’ve obviously never seen A Serbian Film
Same.
Addie B I felt more uncomfortable Splice than A Serbian film because at least I knew what what I was walking in beforehand.
I just watched it and I didn't rlly feel uncomfortable? I mean yeah it was weird ig I mean he had sex with it but like I didn't feel creeped out at the end of it? Just another sci fi/alien movie. This movie has nothing on the Serbian film. I was kinda disappointed I thought this would be scarier as everyone keeps saying but it's rlly not
Back when this movie came out on DVD (when those were still a thing), I walked through the children section of my local bookstore. There was a DVD selection of children movies that parents could buy for Christmas for their young innocent kids. I think somebody in the sales department had gotten tricked by the cutesy cover and didn't research "Splice" because there it was. Right between all the Disney movies.
At the end when they gave her the money, it wasn't just to keep her quiet, it was payment for her to carry the baby to term because iirc they found something in dren's DNA and i guess the thing she's carrying would have some of the same within its dna
I don’t think she heard about the scrapped dinosaur-human hybrid idea from Jurassic park...
O h n o. N o. Nononononono.
Isn't that what the 'daughter' is in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom?
@@Retinen1 No, she's just a human clone.
thewhat
i feel like this is a reference and now i want to know what it is a reference to.
Me: *Sees title* oh damn so like a person falls in love with a dinosaur.
The movie:
Me: oh... OH
*me having been on hentai websites* beh weak
No but if you want that you should check out the book “Hot Pterodactyl Boyfriend”
It’s so horribly and intentionally bad, I love it 😂
@@Papanda1995 is it one of Chuck Tingle's works? Sounds like it
@@spookieboogi6161 I've been on hentai websites too but this shit hits different fam
you should watch the velocipastor
How the hell was this movie pitched?
“So it’s like Mew from Pokémon ... and then it grows up and f**ks its human parents”
“....”
“That’s fantastic! Produce it!”
I love how this was the movie my mom and stepdad saw together on their first date- and they walked out halfway through
This confirmed my desire to dedicate a video to Breaking Dawn
Also because some people don't understand what Dren says at the end, it's 'inside' - which calls back to when Elsa says that there's a part of her in Dren. So it's next level gross
Don't duck your research.
I really thought you'd say "Mommy Dearest"again, but maybe you're to young for that reference.
Super excited for that
The Twilight renaissance is upon us!
Yay!!!
The SCP foundation would have had all the events of this film, Elsa, Dren’s corpse, and Elsa’s incest child filed as an anomaly and sent to a site immediately.
Dr bright would frick it
@@auslander1776 Things Dr. Bright is no longer allowed to do:
And we would not have to know [redacted].
I can’t seem the find a good number to designate them though.
In this economy?
This movie....made me question everything.
I saw this with my family years ago and well... we were traumatized, especially me. That scene with the woman and that creature at the end, really haunted my nightmares for months and its one of those scene that CANT GET OUT OF MY BRAIN! I wanna forget it but nope, so thank you for creating my nightmares, movie.
I took my mom to see this. I don't think she's ever going to trust a movie recommendation from me ever again.
Oof that's a big yikes
It's like when I convinced my dad to go see Shape of Water with me abd the ride home was awkward and silent
I watched it with my parents and I really liked it tbh
@@pinksnake8001 But did they?
The intimate scenes made me so.....uncomfortable💀
Aye, that it did, but the r*pe scene was worse to me
What are you, a chicken? Wait, don't answer that.
A lab-grown hybrid homunculus having sex with its creator before murdering him and straight up r*ping its mother is.. Actually quite bonkers, not going to lie. Creating a combustible lemon to burn someone's house down can be justified with enough context, but this.. This concept terrifies me.
So I guess this horror movie succeeded in scaring you? Although it's more of mental disturbance than a jump scar lol. Don't look up the half human and chimpanzee experiments btw
@@romariomejia5396 not scare me but it was just something weird like the human centipede type of weird😂 and....i will try not to but now im curious💀
@@salted6422 ahah chicken😂 i actually love horror movies but this one is just disturbing, like those movies that push boundaries which i suppose was the directors point
This is actually my favourite video on the internet. I have lost count of how many times I've watched this xD The way you say "And she has a little dress, isn't that precious?" lol
BRUH I've been thinking about this movie so much lately, mostly because my high school bf absolutely loved it and thought it was "hot" 😬 oh the red flags...
That’s disgusting 🤮🤮
This movie disturbed me so much I had to watch V for Vendetta just to calm me down.
😧
huh
I love that movie
I had to watch prank encounters and way of the house husband to do so...that is how messed up and subtle this movie is. based on clips no less.
I had to watch funny TH-cam videos
This movie came on to netflix and now everyone is talking about it.
"iNsIdE YOUuuuuuuu...."
Ewwww omg I watched this when I was like 13-14 not knowing any better and that line just triggered some terrible memories.
*Sound of Silence plays*
Cadence Wallace
The Disturbed cover?
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
nah man i only know “aRe YoU lOsT bAbYgIrL??..”
To quote what I said to my friend. “This movie is like the boat ride scene from Willy Wonka extended into an entire movie and I hated it.”
Can’t believe they named the scientific abomination “nerd” backwards
"No one tries to have sex with the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park". That you know of. Have fun with this thought. :)
Hmmmm.....?
Oh no! Oh no!! OH PLEASE NO!!
I am the 69th like
“Clever girl”
I remember a MST of Jurassic Park smut. I really hope that the original writer created it as a joke, but you never know with the internet. It was... something.
My cousin and I and a bunch of his friends went to see this in theaters when it came out. We were excited for weeks about it cause the trailer made it look badass. Did not allude to the sexual shitshow at all. We stayed for the whole thing but I remember we all just walked out in silence and didn't say anything for a good 3 minutes before finally just being like "well let's never talk about that again"
Ahahahahah
It's one of those things that you keep watching just because you're so disgusted and freaked out
You know, I really thought that the fact I watched this movie, like, 10 years ago, meant I wouldn't feel nauseous after watching this video and remembering the experience. I was wrong. I was so wrong.
i was six, how was i ever allowed to watch this
no wonder i'm so traumatized
