Well anime only viewers really gonna be surprise because it was not showed in season 1 where in Frey, Carrion and Millim not trusting clayman and they know he's plotting something. This conversation goes way back their meeting in Clayman's place where in Millim saw Rimuru in the Crystal ball eating the Orc Lord. That's the scene but they did not adapt the whole conversation. Also the truth is, Clayman hide necessary information on Millim but because of Dragon's Eye, Millim saw it through.
i think the human form of veldora is more powerful than people realize. he's had more or less rimuru's complete knowledge of manga, just think of all those attacks that you ever saw in an anime/manga.
