Me too man, I watch these before I go out for a session. I'm literally going surfing in an hour, I just love the Stoke and the technical surfing. Gets me fired to work on my turns.
Noel Salas does by far the best board reviews and at Lowers he’s got the perfect testing ground. Would love to see a DHD Black Diamond review...even though I just bought one from Kirra Surf. I hope the manufacturers sling him plenty of boards for his trouble. Ta mate.
i love a board that pushes back against a deep backhand railturn off the heels.. as waves get bigger i feel more confident powering backside, so a board that can stay solid on the backhand seems more likely to work beyond its recommended wave size IMO.
Great review. great board. Noel, any board look amazing under your feet. you are the best. One advice : don't stop the sequences when you analyse the wave and board reactions. it's really really nice to watch, we learn a lot ! cheers.
Thanks Noel, I have that board and love it. Your reviews are awesome. I have Matt Biolos 5 fin set for mine plus I just bought the KA's as well, for bigger waves, as I found the MB's lack control for me when it gets over head. Looking fwd to the 3DV and the Twin reviews, YEW! My son has the 3DV and absolutely loves it! Cheers.
It's been awhile since you reviewed DHD and they have some new twin fins. I don't know if others have inquired and I think DHD is harder to acquire with their only outlet in Hawaii now I think. With this year's CT top 5 I figured I'd bring up the DHD given the ranking for 2023
Love the channel and reviews. Finally a channel with a variety of board reviews! 👍Would be great if you created some review playlists for each board brand.
Noel, 4 feet Australian is not 4 foot Californian. The waves we saw you surf here was 4 foot (over head). Anyway, who cares what the manufacturer says, it’s really what works for you. I’ve had some “small wave” boards go amazingly in overhead surf, it’s really more about what you want from a board. Great surfing and I love the reviews.
Hi Noel. What outlines & rail would one need for double over head waves. Jbay is just down the drag for me. (I generally stay away from the crowds). But will go there & its over head +.
Hello Noel, congrats for your great reviews, really. A suggestion:i have a JS Black Box (first version) 5'9" about 26L and a JS Monsta Box HiFy 5'9" about 27,5L. The Black Box is broken and looking to replace it with a similar small/medium size wave shortboard. Considering that i have a Monsta Box, would you suggest a DHD 3DV or 3DX 5'7" as alternative?
Paolo Ceriotti I like the Wilko F13 the best on the DHD Small Wave Boards. I really like the Neckbeard 2 and Rocket Wide too for 1-4’ surf. Also check out the Pyzel Phantom
@@surfnshowreviews7777 thanks man!the shop I'm looking at has the Phantom so I'll check it out. It has a Sharpeye Disco 5'8" too and I like that stock volume and size..Would you consider that one too for small/medium steep waves?
Hi Noel How do you think this compares to the JS Blak Box 3? I saw you have reviewed both. Looking for a daily driver for 1 - 4ft and these two are the top of my list. Looking forward to hearing. Cheers.
Hi Noe. Whats the diference betwen this 3DX and the Dhd Phoenix?? I see that both boards are made for small waves, so whats the diference? Are the 2 boards grovelers? Or de 3DX are more like a daily driver?
helo champ.can i ask honestly i want to to try dhd surfboard first time I can't decide between f13 or 3dx.for 2-5 feet.i had lost ci.for 8 years.i think to try on of them..any help.thanks
Hi Noel, firstly I would like to say you are my go to when iam looking for a new board, absolutely second to none, fantastic job, I'am looking for a small wave shortboard for my quiver a 5'6 @ 29L and the DHD Phoenix has just caught my eye will you be reviewing this model? cheers keep up the good work and keep safe
Beachy Cheers for the kind words. DHD does not send boards for review anymore sorry. That board is not on our review list... they don’t find value in what we do. I like the Air17X, NB2, Wilko F13, UBer Driver
Thanks Noel, I find value in what you guys do, as do the 'thousands' of people who view your reviews, I think they are missing a trick, NB2 is on my shortlist many thanks
Also on my short list is the gremlin electralite and black barron, in clean waist to chest high waves which would give the most aggressive performance?
Hi Noel awesome Surfing reviews. Hey you think you can do one on a helium evo. Would love to see you Surf that and give us your professional feedback. Thx again.
TdTbMp The Folks at Firewire limit me on the boards they want reviewed. Maybe in the near future we can grab a couple of Tomo’s Planning Hull’s to review.
Hey Noe! Brazilian surfer here. I was thinking to buy a new board, my options now are the Sampler and 3DX by DHD. I'm a intermediare surfer and 5'7 and 170 pounds. I was thinking a board to improve my surf to the next level. The conditions of surf in my spot here are almost very bad, so i need a board who can give me a good options to surf another spot in good conditions too. You can help me? Thanks!
Hi Noel, great review as always. How would you compare the DX3 to the switch blade? They seem to have similar descriptions on the website. Thanks a lot.
Simon Chadwick This suit is 2. Years old and they made this 2mm for the masses. Hurley sent me two of them and I take very good care of them. There aren’t many suits out there these days with some color. Check out Xcell... this season they have a sick Comp X in burgundy that I just got. Sick color and they make it in 4/3mm too. I just got one and it’s epic!!!
I have both, and I had two trips where I took exactly this combo. Find the Black Diamond can be surfed from knee to overhead+ but I find it lacking some performance. I also found the nose catching a bit. It paddles good, easy to catch waves with and it holds good at the bottom. Fin setup that worked best for me were quads, Hayden Shapes Large in front + small no name trailers. The 3DX sits in between and is basically a small wave performance board, I find it very loose. I use the KA Larges. I will try the MFs on my next trip.
Marcelo A. de Araújo The wave range with this 3DX is better... it can Halle over head surf very well. For groveling in 1-3’ surf the RW is unmatched so far.
Hey Noel great reviews as always. What’s you favorite small wave shortboard currently? I’m looking to practice more airs but it’s been pretty much 1-4 foot lately. I Surf off my front foot.
Big fan of your reviews! 3DX vs 3DV vs Js Monstabox What are your thoughts? Assume 3DX = easier to use and more range 3DV = more perf for 2-4ft And Monstabox = combo of the above but more hi perf?
Hands down, you are a really fantastic surfer -- seriously. Killer style, commitment. Good vibes. Just makes me want to go surfing, every time.
Future Aztec Wow... thanks for the kind words.
Me too man, I watch these before I go out for a session. I'm literally going surfing in an hour, I just love the Stoke and the technical surfing. Gets me fired to work on my turns.
Please do a DHD Phoineix review.
Love surfing small wave boards in bigger than recommended surf, so much fun.
Jason Trevascus same!
Yea I feel like the love the barrels
I loved the way you surfed that board as a quad, it looked so smooth and natural
I surf it in almost all conditions between 2-6 ft and it works really well surprisingly especially in weak surf
Tristan Francis Stoked... thanks for posting.

Another great review Noel, you and your team are producing fantastic content. Well done from Aus!
Glenn Reggie Cheers!!! Stoked you like our show.
DHD's wave rec goes on aussie size. 4 foot here is like a bit overhead and 3 foot is chest/head high.

Hi Noel

@@surfnshowreviews7777 thanks i hope he good on the raill like the 3dx
Hi, one more great video. How the dhd 3dx compares with the Holy Grail ? Thank you .

@@surfnshowreviews7777 3dx you mean.on raill

Toby Gibbons Sorry I have not tried the Switch blade so hard for me to say.
Board looks great under your feet , another great review 🤙🏽
Hi I'm sorry for the late comment. Is this board the eps version.

Kaleb Mannigel CI Rocket Wide in 1-3’ surf is really fast down the line and will go mental for airs.
Great waves to do board reviews on
"A big hybrid, fish-type nose"
Have you tried an Omni or Cymatic?
I think you should.
Adrian Walcott I have asked Firewire for both of those boards and they gave me a Machado Moonbeam. Maybe they will give me one eventually.
Surf n Show Reviews they are amateurs for that 😂
Do a review of the Solid surf Lunch Break
Shane Moriarty Maybe in the future...
how does this compare to the 3dv
Luke Mitchell Both Boards are pretty good. The Wilko F13 is epic.... I would go with that one.
