Small Town Flavor - Bardstown, KY (Ep. 1)

SAVE OUR MAIN STREETS: Join Pete as we begin our seven episode dawn-to-dusk journey through Bardstown. In this episode, we awaken in an old tavern & inn that dates back to the late 1700s and the days of Jessie James before heading along the downtown streets to hear and experience Bardstown's unique history with local historian Dixie Hibbs. We'll also grab some breakfast and head into the kitchen with Mammy of Mammy's Kitchen to cook up some Southern Kentucky specialties... country ham and red-eye gravy and the famous Kentucky Hot Brown sandwich. Talbott Tavern is a must when you’re there. Also just walking around town reading plaques is almost like a self guided tour. Y’all have a great trip and enjoy the hospitality.

I lived in a small community up in the tip of Northern CA. We had to butcher my Father in-law's 800 lb pig. Now we live in KY. We will have to come in and try the country ham at Mammy's Kitchen.

Great series of videos on Bardstown! Wish I would have seen these before the wife and I stayed a few nights back in 2012 or 13. Oh well now that we have seen this series it will give us an excuse to get back to Bardstown soon. Thanks again for an awesome series of videos.

I cried my eyes out, this is totally unbelievable, I live in South Africa, and from 1994 to date most of the towns have had no maintainence at all, in fact most have become ghettos
