I feel your pain brother. I've been playing the same F1 2011 from torrent with a keyboard for 6 years when i bought my first t300 rs which is now broken. I haven't played F1 2020 for months.
Congrats pal! Couple good to know things for DD: 1. The shaft has a collar you can twist which makes the rubber part wider to take to slip out of the quick release and stop the pins snapping. That's why the wheel was so hard to take off, so loosen the collar before taking the wheel off/on 2. The bottom paddles on the wheel can be configured to both be a clutch. Where you set one side to be at the bite point and both to be full clutch. Then when you start, you can let go of one side instantly to get you moving and slowly release the other for a smooth consistent start.
been using the DD1 now for a few months and my only recommendation is you use the securing bolt for the quick release, it removes a lot of the ''play'' in the quick release you will likely feel if you pull the rim towards you in a wiggle fashion, once you know its there it pisses you off even if you cant feel it when driving, i have a Z ring mod and i still use the bolt aswell and its rock solid, probably the only flaw the DD1/2 has mechanically but a new quick release is on the horizon from fanatec that is going to be a feature of the new BMW gt4 wheel coming soon, hopefully they sell it seperately. besides that its also a known fault that if you use the ITM display on anything else except the ''fanatec'' screen (so telemetry or motor info etc) it can cause random jolts in the feedback when driving so leave it on the fanatec screen currently... besides that, amazing!
@@bigredracingteam9642 i am upset, the product like most products should be perfect and work as intended out of the box but what bothers me more is not the issues which are fairly minor but the time they take to fix the issue they have known about for many months now, they openly acknowledge the problem on fanatec forums and say they are working on it with no estimated time frame to fix the problem. the display works and you can use it but every now and then you just feel a jolt in the feedback that was from nothing. the quick release as well isn't perfect but certainly flex isn't very noticeable in use its just once you know its there its hard to not pull on it every now and then because it bothers you if you know what i mean. I've fixed that anyway, it shouldn't need modding but a cheap mod does alleviate the issue for the most part. I'm certainly not super happy about any of it but at the same time if i just shut up and drive its awesome.
I think you'll need to upgrade your wheel stand to be able to take the FFB forces from the DD1. That current stand you have your CSL wheelbase mounted to ain't gonna cut it. That table also doesn't look like it can take the forces from the DD1. I ran into a similar problem when I upgraded my pedals to a load cell unit. My chair kept sliding backwards every time I applied the brakes so I eventually had to spend an extra hundreds of dollars to upgrade my rig.
Watching you unbox this made me want to make the most unnecessary purchases to be able to use them as well. I'll just have to enjoy it vicariously through you

When you get it set up could we see multiple angles of your first drives? Mainly your hand and foot work. Looks great mate. I'd be grateful for any wheel at the moment. My logitech F310 gamepad is worn beyond worn.

No he don't. He will use only half the torque not conecting the safety torque key. Max 10 Nm. He is afraid that the 20 Nm may break is arms. :)

So their quick release doesn't work as intended, and neither does the OLED screen? I'd be pretty upset if I had spent so much money on broken stuff.
