This is so cool! Had no idea this was an option - winter water is a huge pain, but it's the summer when the water is really grody that gets me. This is wonderful!
Do you have any concerns about the cows stepping on it and breaking it? I might be getting one of these in the future but I feel like I'd have to build some kind of guard for it because cows seem to love breaking stuff. I live by Saskatoon so it's good to see what someone who knows what real winter is like thinks about the product
I haven’t been concerned with them stepping on it. There is no where for a leg to get caught, and the pvc is fairly heavy duty. I do have some spare paddle parts just in case something happens though

We only run lease cow/calves here right now and its not getting us anywhere. I think your sun management goes back to the Egyptian pyramids. I designed my own things here, and then i thought those pyramids, were probably giant solar batteries...
Do you think, on that scale as big as those pyramids, that it's possible to create your own ecosystem without the insulation? I know it's a wierd theory, but I thing it would work...

@ArkopiaTH-cam OK, 10-4, but now I have a problem which I need your assistance. I don't have a cellphone. I have tablets for watching yt etc .The Terms of conditions state that they will use my cellphone for whatever they have decided to implement. So this might hinder me from meeting their requirements for application. I Can't use PayPal because they have locked me out of my account. So now I'm forced to use other means of transference. So if I had your business information, then I could go to Walmart and use the Western Union to send you the funds . Or if I had your email address, I could just email transfer you the money. Let me know what path suits your personal protection and allows me to sign up for a membership.
If you put up some fence posts properly, the idiot cows are unlikely to back into the watering post when it's manure production time. Unless their butts are even smaller than their skulls.

The pheasants could have a wooden rocker weight system that they stand on, making it only work from one side but allowing them too get water. Purely a suggestion Dean if they not got enough leverage to tip paddle. Interesting system & expertly explained boss =GunZenBomZ=

Are these uni-directional? I'd like to put something like this in but my current system allows for 4 or more paddocks to access the water point
They seem to be able to push the paddle from any directions. Cows 100% can
I think that it's a great idea but it would be tough to install the system with our frost level & all of the rocks up here around the 60th parallel
