  • Kids start to learn and develop balance from 2 to 5 years. It is important that at this crucial age you introduce your little one to a sport, or better yet multiple sports. I recommend starting as early as possible.
This three stage approach focus on introducing soccer to your kid.
STAGE 1 (Age 1 to 2.5) Practice everyday.
Give your kid a soccer ball.
let him/her enjoy the ball as he/she pleases. Every opportunity to play with the ball will be great. Kitchen, living room, backyard or during a walk at the park, all great opportunities for your 1 to 2 year old to explore with his soccer ball. Nothing organize is necessary at this age.
    STAGE 2 (Age 2.5 to 3.5) practice 3 to 5 times a week.
Less activities with the ball at this age. Make sure your kid is getting enough running, skipping, crawling, jumping, throwing and kicking a soccer ball. Focus on less with the ball and do more activities that will help with balance.
    STAGE 3 (Age 3.5 to 5) practice 2 to 4 times a week.
More activities with the ball such as kicking, stopping the ball, running while keeping the ball close to their feet, changing direction with the ball, caching the ball. At this stage your kid should be more familiar with the soccer ball. Stage two has prepared him/her with enough balance and fitness. It is time for your kid to find his skills and abilities. Increase activities with the ball including involving your kid in an organized program, academy, or a team. You kid will lean the rules of the game gradually.
Also checkout his progress at age 4.

I enrolled my son when he was 3 years old to some yuventus acadamy. And this was mistake because my son entered half a year for such trainings and then he was crying that he must go for trainings, because they were long, they lasted for 70 minutes and for such young kids this is too much, boring. So beginning from 3.5 we have training individually at home 15-25 minutes 5 times a week. Hope that when he will be 9-10 he would like again go to some soccer school/team. But to remember don't join your kids to some academy too early because they can don't like football.

Enjoy it. The key is find ways to make it fun. Also be consistent and be sure to introduce fun and new equipment from time to time. As you know new things is always exciting!
