Yoo so I caught up on the manga. All the way to chapter 69 so is there another website where it continues. I started reading manga two years ago so I’m not used to this but it seems to me that there’s more I found out that there are more to this.
I feel like people are being too critical by thinking the harem is the end game, the harem actually establishes 10 whole volumes before the end of the series. You get to see them grow and become a wholesome family and none of the wife's get sidelined, each shines respectably in the following arcs.
Yeah, the author did a really good job with the romance development. And the wifes have their own strong point and weakness thats why i love this so much
That growth was amazing to follow. Rudi didn't just see something he wanted and took it. He discovered that life was incomplete without those gals, and was brave enough to work for the best result.

Rudeus died at the age of 74. In the end, it is Eris who ends up within the afterlife. Although he married three women, he ends up with the one he asked for on his dying day, Eris.
The others are going to die someday too, meaning he'll still have all three with him eventually. Eris was the last to marry him in life and the first to be reunited with him in death.
well eris died before him. the other two still have longer lives ahead of them due to thier heritage. roxy would probably be there for ages, and silphie is just past middle age by his death.

He's very popular, but I'd say he's far from being a womanizer. If he really is one, then the number of women he slept with would've been much higher than just 3. There are more than enough women that'd form a line to be in the same position as those 3, if given the chance, from his subordinates like Rinia and Pursena to random student from the university and even a princess for that matter. Not once did he even consider making a move on any of them, despite some making pretty explicit suggestions to the idea.

In my prospective, I think that Eris sacrifice more than anyone if you know the reason why she left him after spending whole six year together then you realize that. To be completely honest she can easily have him after that but she let him go and also make the decision that she became stronger that she never become burden on him. Make that decision all by herself when already lost her family that makes her special more than anyone girl in the series.

Left a couple of things out that I just thought were worth mentioning. Rudy being 12 and Eris being 13 when they had their first time. Rudy's mom beating the crap out of him when he announced he would have 3 wives. Eris always trying to avoid having a 4 way after she entered the marriage even though Roxy and Sylphy were all for it.

This is quite interesting as the second season is rolling around. I've got into it again and spoilered myself (rudeuses wives, the story of hitogami etc.) with some cornerstones of the story (as reading about 24 novels is about as feasable as doing it in Japanese) deliberately. So it is appreciated that you covered this, I already knew this factoid, but not how they got there.
I love the way light novel can explain why it's legit that rudy has 3 wives. Fun facts (Spoil LN volume17) Sylphy occasionally arrange the wives meeting to reconcile their emotions with one another. She is trying hard to make Rudeus's house a happy place and relieved Rudeus.
@@TheDarkArcherz I really liked the school arc and what the author did, it made me really sad but at the same time gave the characters motivation. If there was no romance between Rudy and Eris it would have been wasted and people would have been more pissed if there was no development (in other words, them just blushing around each other). At the very least they had such an interaction but if Eris had stayed, the story would have ended there. It was important for the story that Rudeus kept moving instead of settling down. He wouldn't have had any interaction with Roxy Migurdia, Sylphy, or Nanahoshi Shizuka. He wouldn't have met some of the best characters, Cliff Grimoire, Zanoba Shirone, Badigadi, and Elinalise Dragonroad, if it didn't happen, his adventure would have been limited to speed running 3 continents instead of the exploration we crave. Like Perugius' castle, Atofe's kingdom, or the Holy kingdom of Milis. If Rudy didn't keep moving, Orsted would have probably failed this loop like all the others and the universe would be left at the mercy of Hitogami. Finally the school arc was good because the story can't always be 100% intense, otherwise it loses flavor, the author does this perfectly by having downtimes in the story for Rudeus to enjoy life because that's what the story is all about. Not just action and sadness. Keep in mind Rudeus has been fighting for his life for 6+ years and he only got about 1-2 years of rest before going to Begaritto continent to save his mom with his dad. It's these times of calmness that really make mushoku tensei an endearing story because we get to appreciate the progress our MC made from a scummy individual to a respectful albeit perverted adult. The school arc is great for giving us some well needed satisfaction about Rudeus' overwhelming powers, the mystery behind the mana calamity, and finally resolving Rudeus' love crisis with a very satisfying marriage. The author knows how to get the reader ready for action and when to relax with the writing so things stay fresh and entertaining.
@@misterzia01 I'm not saying the entirety of the arc was crap; it certainly had its highs and lows and I understand it was a necessary stage to set-up the rest of the story, which it did quite well and I enjoyed. The reason why the arc, to me, is horrible is because it feels as if the author...discarded all of Rudeus' previous development to pursue the, "Woe is me, I'm so depressed and pathetic and I'll do nothing to help myself for several years," archetype to force Sylphy and Rudeus to get together. I simply despise how the characterization was handled. It feels extremely unnatural and forced, kind of like the author had no idea what he should do with Rudeus after Eris' departure, and that, for me, makes the arc completely dogshit, as Rudeus no longer feels like the Rudeus we actually knew and saw develop. I understand he'd be depressed and whatnot after Eris "abandoned" him, but apart from having the same story up to that point, he feels like a completely different character that just happens to share the same name and body. It doesn't take a genius to understand that that's dogshit writing, time-skip arguments be damned (I've conversed with someone that literally thought the same as me in regards to this but thought it was okay overall because there was a time-skip).

Like he genuinely had feeling of animosity towards her because he loved her above all else. When he finally devoted his entire being to a single person, she disappeared and Rudeus was suddenly left with no purpose
I recently started reading the WN because this series got me addicted so bad that I just can't wait for episodes anymore and man....even though I'm only at the start of volume 3 Eris is definitely top tier wife material.

For more context of the marriage with Slyphy and Eris... SPOILERS INCOMMING! He met Slyphy at the University, but Slyphy looked completely different for reasons. Rudi forms a relationship with her again not knowing it was Slyphy the whole time, he also believes Slyphy is a boy (deja vu?). He slowly falls in love with her and has a huge amount of respect for her. She then learns about his situation and comes up with a plan to cure him with the help of her friends. He marries her soon after. Because of a 3rd party, Rudi was conflicted about meeting Eris as well as marrying her. He asked his wives what they thought about him marrying Eris and they both knew that Rudi was on the fence about it. He was lamenting that if Eris did love him all this time, he essentially left her and married while she was dedicated her life to him, but at the same time, he was traumatized from their last moments together. Then during a battle with a strong opponent, Eris saved him in typical Shounen Protagonist fashion, consequently making Rudi fall in love with her all over again (maiden Rudi is born lmao). Thought to add this because I think its important to understand that Rudi fell in love with Slyphy before she saved him. And the part about Eris was he fell in love with her again and didnt marry her because of obligation or past regrets.
The manga has only reached till chapter 70( yes the manga comes out monthly) which is when rudy and sylphy spend there days in magic high school and I am not the guy who reads novel so I guess it will take years to get the point where rudy finally marries all 3 closest girls to him in manga version. This patience is killing me.
What? Her reunion with Rudy literary perfection. SPOILERS below: Rudeus was forced to fight Orsted, the most powerful being in the world or get his family wiped out by Hitogami and while it started off pretty well for him, once the man started getting a little serious, Orsted literally stomped Rudeus to the ground. The feeling of futility as everything Rudeus throws at him being shoved off like nothing and the despair Rudeus is having as this man basically sealed his family's deaths. Just before Rudy gets killed, Eris appears to rescue him. The emotional roller coaster went through for the past couple of months culminating to this moment is golden. The sense of relief that Rudy felt when Eris appears in the most badass way possible and then the author showcasing just how much she learned the past couple of years under the Sword God can't get any better.

This man, dubbed by fans as "Oldeus," is the Rudeus who followed Hitogami's latest advice which would cause a butterfly effect of having literally everyone he knows suffer brutal deaths. Think of Re;Zero, but cranked up to 11 kind of brutal. For. Each. One. He. Knows. From his friends, Ruijerd, his family, etc. Only he has to live through decades knowing it all started with him checking a basement. Oldeus let him know about Eris' feeling and that he regretted not giving her a chance to make up with him since he's so obsessed with revenge at that point and he only realized after seeing Eris sacrificed herself to save his life from a Demon Lord. As for Orsted-Eris fight, she managed to cut off Orsted's arm, but the guy's also pretty injured at that point and he's watching Rudeus who's being healed by Sylphiette and the pregnant Roxy so it's a stretch to say they're equal as Orsted didn't really use his sword against Eris. Though it's true that Eris is far more formidable now and even garnered a praise from him. After Eris bought some time for Rudeus to be healed, she figured Rudeus is under zero condition to fight. With basically drained mana, he not only can't make spells but had a weakened body, heavy fatigue, etc. She offered that she'll buy time for Rudeus and others to escape and ordered Ghislaine to protect Rudeus in her stead, to which Ghislaine objected plus Sylphy and Roxy getting in their input. Orsted observing the exchange made him consider that Rudeus' earlier statement that he's only doing this for his family might be true so he offered him a choice: Either be his subordinate with Orsted doing everything in his power to make sure his family's safe from harm or lose everything since Orsted can't let an apostle (Rudeus) live. Rudeus chose the former.

@@TheDarkArcherz I really liked the school arc and what the author did, it made me really sad but at the same time gave the characters motivation. If there was no romance between Rudy and Eris it would have been wasted and people would have been more pissed if there was no development (in other words, them just blushing around each other). At the very least they had such an interaction but if Eris had stayed, the story would have ended there. It was important for the story that Rudeus kept moving instead of settling down. He wouldn't have had any interaction with Roxy Migurdia, Sylphy, or Nanahoshi Shizuka. He wouldn't have met some of the best characters, Cliff Grimoire, Zanoba Shirone, Badigadi, and Elinalise Dragonroad, if it didn't happen, his adventure would have been limited to speed running 3 continents instead of the exploration we crave. Like Perugius' castle, Atofe's kingdom, or the Holy kingdom of Milis. If Rudy didn't keep moving, Orsted would have probably failed this loop like all the others and the universe would be left at the mercy of Hitogami. Finally the school arc was good because the story can't always be 100% intense, otherwise it loses flavor, the author does this perfectly by having downtimes in the story for Rudeus to enjoy life because that's what the story is all about. Not just action and sadness. Keep in mind Rudeus has been fighting for his life for 6+ years and he only got about 1-2 years of rest before going to Begaritto continent to save his mom with his dad. It's these times of calmness that really make mushoku tensei an endearing story because we get to appreciate the progress our MC made from a scummy individual to a respectful albeit perverted adult. The school arc is great for giving us some well needed satisfaction about Rudeus' overwhelming powers, the mystery behind the mana calamity, and finally resolving Rudeus' love crisis with a very satisfying marriage. The author knows how to get the reader ready for action and when to relax with the writing so things stay fresh and entertaining.
@@misterzia01 I'm not saying the entirety of the arc was crap; it certainly had its highs and lows and I understand it was a necessary stage to set-up the rest of the story, which it did quite well and I enjoyed. The reason why the arc, to me, is horrible is because it feels as if the author...discarded all of Rudeus' previous development to pursue the, "Woe is me, I'm so depressed and pathetic and I'll do nothing to help myself for several years," archetype to force Sylphy and Rudeus to get together. I simply despise how the characterization was handled. It feels extremely unnatural and forced, kind of like the author had no idea what he should do with Rudeus after Eris' departure, and that, for me, makes the arc completely dogshit, as Rudeus no longer feels like the Rudeus we actually knew and saw develop. I understand he'd be depressed and whatnot after Eris "abandoned" him, but apart from having the same story up to that point, he feels like a completely different character that just happens to share the same name and body. It doesn't take a genius to understand that that's dogshit writing, time-skip arguments be damned (I've conversed with someone that literally thought the same as me in regards to this but thought it was okay overall because there was a time-skip).

Like he genuinely had feeling of animosity towards her because he loved her above all else. When he finally devoted his entire being to a single person, she disappeared and Rudeus was suddenly left with no purpose
I recently started reading the WN because this series got me addicted so bad that I just can't wait for episodes anymore and man....even though I'm only at the start of volume 3 Eris is definitely top tier wife material.

For more context of the marriage with Slyphy and Eris... SPOILERS INCOMMING!
He met Slyphy at the University, but Slyphy looked completely different for reasons. Rudi forms a relationship with her again not knowing it was Slyphy the whole time, he also believes Slyphy is a boy (deja vu?). He slowly falls in love with her and has a huge amount of respect for her. She then learns about his situation and comes up with a plan to cure him with the help of her friends. He marries her soon after.
Because of a 3rd party, Rudi was conflicted about meeting Eris as well as marrying her. He asked his wives what they thought about him marrying Eris and they both knew that Rudi was on the fence about it. He was lamenting that if Eris did love him all this time, he essentially left her and married while she was dedicated her life to him, but at the same time, he was traumatized from their last moments together. Then during a battle with a strong opponent, Eris saved him in typical Shounen Protagonist fashion, consequently making Rudi fall in love with her all over again (maiden Rudi is born lmao).
Thought to add this because I think its important to understand that Rudi fell in love with Slyphy before she saved him. And the part about Eris was he fell in love with her again and didnt marry her because of obligation or past regrets.
The manga has only reached till chapter 70( yes the manga comes out monthly) which is when rudy and sylphy spend there days in magic high school and I am not the guy who reads novel so I guess it will take years to get the point where rudy finally marries all 3 closest girls to him in manga version. This patience is killing me.

Rudeus was forced to fight Orsted, the most powerful being in the world or get his family wiped out by Hitogami and while it started off pretty well for him, once the man started getting a little serious, Orsted literally stomped Rudeus to the ground. The feeling of futility as everything Rudeus throws at him being shoved off like nothing and the despair Rudeus is having as this man basically sealed his family's deaths. Just before Rudy gets killed, Eris appears to rescue him. The emotional roller coaster went through for the past couple of months culminating to this moment is golden. The sense of relief that Rudy felt when Eris appears in the most badass way possible and then the author showcasing just how much she learned the past couple of years under the Sword God can't get any better.

Rudeus found out about Eris' feelings from his future self who time traveled. This man, dubbed by fans as "Oldeus," is the Rudeus who followed Hitogami's latest advice which would cause a butterfly effect of having literally everyone he knows suffer brutal deaths. Think of Re;Zero, but cranked up to 11 kind of brutal. For. Each. One. He. Knows. From his friends, Ruijerd, his family, etc. Only he has to live through decades knowing it all started with him checking a basement. Oldeus let him know about Eris' feeling and that he regretted not giving her a chance to make up with him since he's so obsessed with revenge at that point and he only realized after seeing Eris sacrificed herself to save his life from a Demon Lord.
As for Orsted-Eris fight, she managed to cut off Orsted's arm, but the guy's also pretty injured at that point and he's watching Rudeus who's being healed by Sylphiette and the pregnant Roxy so it's a stretch to say they're equal as Orsted didn't really use his sword against Eris. Though it's true that Eris is far more formidable now and even garnered a praise from him.
After Eris bought some time for Rudeus to be healed, she figured Rudeus is under zero condition to fight. With basically drained mana, he not only can't make spells but had a weakened body, heavy fatigue, etc. She offered that she'll buy time for Rudeus and others to escape and ordered Ghislaine to protect Rudeus in her stead, to which Ghislaine objected plus Sylphy and Roxy getting in their input. Orsted observing the exchange made him consider that Rudeus' earlier statement that he's only doing this for his family might be true so he offered him a choice: Either be his subordinate with Orsted doing everything in his power to make sure his family's safe from harm or lose everything since Orsted can't let an apostle (Rudeus) live. Rudeus chose the former.
