- THIS WAS BAD! A BIG MISTAKE! Today we are taking on a challenge we probably shouldn't have! This is a giant crepe challenge featuring 10-11lbs of plain crepes. The prizes for completing this challenge is a free $60 meal and a t-shirt! Thanks to the friendly staff, and although this challenge was different than we expected and not what we had seen advertised, it is all good and it just made for a very interesting experience! We attempted this as a 2nd challenge for the day and were very full from the first one. Can we beat this big food challenge? Or will this crazy food challenge burn us (no pun intended) to a crisp? The fact that they didn’t even allow syrup, which is a basic staple of the crepe, says a lot about this restaurant. They should not have a food challenge if they get offended at people beating it LOL

I love that you did a challenge before this, they tried to play games with the rules and you still flexed on them and won. It's wild that some of these restaurants have these challenges and treat it like they're bitter about it when its actually a great chance for them to spread the word about their food and hospitality. Glad you guys destroyed it.

Crepes should be almost paper thin but still fold/roll without breaking. Watching this video definitely let’s me know not to even bother trying that place.
They were definitely badly cooked English style pancakes but you would never have them plain. Lemon juice and sugar for me.
They were more like thin pancakes very heavy and dense crepes aren't supposed to be heavy
I was thinking the same thing, seemed they were antagonistic to the challengers of "their" challenge, having 8 winners in ten years leaves me wondering why ? Just left me with a bad example of the place, makes me not want to ever frequent them.

seems like a last minute change in the rules made on purpose because they figured you'd beat the challenge and they didn't want to prepare actual good crepes for you. it's a missed opportunity because the point of doing some of these challenges is to also discuss the food and how good it is (if it's good) and this helps promote the restaurant as well. my bet is they knew you'd ace it and cut their losses before you even got there. sad
The cook must be some fat lazy slob that barely works and didn't want to take extra time to make the more elegant flavorful crepes. Manager is definitely some A hole ignorant person who doesn't even care what's going on in the kitchen.

Ouch, the restaurant lost opportunity to gain customers. In return, they seemed like they weren't accommodating at all and wanted you to fail. Not going there, for sure.

Short sighted for sure. If a restaurant is smart they assume the competitive eaters will crush a challenge but in return they get some excellent exposure and some mighty cheap advertising. I*n this case they not only got their challenge crushed but also got a ton of NEGATIVE publicity. They turned the challenge from a lose a little /gain alot situation to a lose/lose situation. Poor decision by them.

Those are the thickest crepes I've ever seen. Also if they are gummy, it means they're undercooked. I know Bellingham pretty well growing up in the PNW, but have not eaten there...and now definitely planning to never eat there lol. I think they robbed you guys on this one. It doesn't help they changed the challenge either. I would have been so mad. Good job crushing it anyway! And now all of us know to boycott this place haha. Xo

places like that should be put on blast. dont keep changing a challenge just because it was poorly thought out and some people actually complete it.
The way you pushed through that even though it clearly wasn't enjoyable. Also taking Scott's last crepe when he was clearly struggling at the end, you are the consummate gentleman.

Two of my favorite competitive eaters! You guys rocked it as usual. IMHO, you guys were the first two winners of a new challenge, because they changed the rules. Judging from the steam rolling off the crepes, they had no regard for your safety. Wouldn't eat there, don't like the way they do business. Onward & upward guys. 👍

I am a Crepe Cook. I also thought they were a little harsh on the rules. This challenge was impressive! My favorite Crepe is one that I created for our menu called the Flyin Hawaiian. Fresh strawberries, pineapple, macadamia, coconut flake and caramel with sweet cream💙🤤

To me they knew who you were, they knew you could do it, they knew they were going to be paying the price for the meal so they didnt want to loose out on even more money by offering you more dipping sauces, or flavors. Unbelievable!!! Restaurants blow me away when they act like this because the kind of basically FREE publicity they are getting for themselves for the cost of a challenge meal, "whether its won or lost", is insurmountable. GREAT JOB GUYS! and like usual, you are always, GENTLEMEN!

This is the first time I've seen someone that's crepes with ketchup, usually they're like pancakes, with jam, maple syrup, or ice cream.
In France you would be thrown out if you asked for ketchup for crepes.
