Just seen a 2007 Toyota FJ Cabo Edition. Voodoo blue with a black top. All leather seats with the Cabo Edition stitched into the seats. Had all the bells and whistles. (Great video) 😁
Great video, my friend had a 2013 or 2014 FJ that was peach color. I have a 2007 in voodoo blue. I could never under stand why the early models did not have map lights.
Excellent info on all trail teams. Also how you point out house special and rare the 2010 TT is with the production number. I own a 2010 TT stock!!!! Purchased knowing it was the rarest. Keeping it stock and know its value is in its original stock form. Keep up the good work!!!
Very informative video! Can one fall in love with an automobile?🙄 I did! First time I saw the 2007 TRD driving down the road it was love at first sight. Immediately called bro and gave him the description and he informed me that it was Toyota's new FJ. I quickly put an order it and waited for 6 months for Dealer to find one. Worth the wait! I still own and drive it. I constantly find notes on the windshield to call when I'm rdy to sell. Nah, he's a keeper! He's taken me everywhere in all weather conditions and he didn't disappoint!😁.
I have the 2012 toyota fj xtreme. DUBAI, UAE build by Artic truck's with hood scoop, Rear diff lock, A-track, aluminum skid plate, JBL audio, rear view camera, 17 inch artic truck wheels, chrome front grill and side view mirrors with spot lights and artic truck shocks came with 2 inch lift from factory.
I Love the FJ it’s sick , eventually I plan buying a TTSE or a TRDSE trim FJ , I want to get the 6 speed manual but I don’t see a lot of special edition FJ’s equipped with them
Very Good Video! I bought a all black on black FJ 2013 with the Crawler Controller model. Wheels are the only part Silver. I love to find out a Complete Manual on it. Like the Wiring part. Want to start Moding my out. Front and extra Rear Camera. Lights, Heated Seats etc.. Hard to find such a Manual though. =(
The ultimate irony about SE's is that their equipment wasn't particularly impressive, yet because they're "Special" enthusiasts usually try to keep them as stock as possible. So the "Not So Special" FJ's quickly eclipsed most of the SE's with far superior aftermarket upgrades. The smart guys and gals refused to pay that SE premium and spent their savings on better upgrades.
The only way we could get an All Army Green FJ with a six speed transmission was to order a “not so special addition” and add on the roof rack, rock rails and any other accessories we wanted. 2011 was our second FJ which my wife still drives today with 141K and ZERO ISSUES. We also added the ARB front bumper with fog lights. Would you know how many 6 speed manual transmission are out there from 2011 and total FJ’s made? Great stuff, thank you!
Great video! There is only TT (without UE) for 2014 in Canadian version. It’s missing, TRD tail pipe, TRD suspension and only TT badge inside the cab. And I’m trying to keep factory for TT
Was great to meet you last week when you came to rent some equipment from me. Enjoying your videos. Would be great to go hit some trails together this summer if your up to it. I am off on the weekends and am looking forward to hitting black bear pass or maybe poughkeepsie gulch again this season when they open. I would also like to try some trails that I haven't done yet. any suggestions for trails in montezuma county that I should check out? My name is Jason and I drive the 2010 TT that your father sent you a picture of when I meet him at a gas station in Cortez.
Glad you checked out the video! It was great meeting you as well! I am hoping once the mountain passes open up to go do some wheeling so we should for sure go do some trails! As for trails in Montezuma county, there aren't many/any I know of. But LaPlata canyon is always a nice one, going up above Dolores to trail like Willow Divide are fun, or even getting over near Bluff or Blanding, UT and doing trails over there are awesome!
I had a 2011 NSSE and the window sticker said US Edition. I fully customized it with 35's, Toyota Ironman wheels powder coated black wrinkle to match the plastic, full belly pan, front and rear bumpers with winch, lift kit..... It is now in Moscow Russia!
I'm pretty sure they didn't sell the 2008 tt until early 2009, hence why there isn't one that year. I bought my 08tt in 09 and they had just arrived at the dealership. I remember asking if it was a new 2009 model (as I had never seen an all white one before). They started that it was in fact an 08 special edition just released.
Have a pkg 3 and did come with factory rockrails, roof rack w/fog light ang with fog lights on bumper. You didn't mention if Atrac came with, ours did. Very happy to be not so special 🤣🏆👍. Thanks for giving info, pretty hard to find anything really about these. Oh, manual and it rocks
I found a 2013 not so special edition in Mexico. I checked the door jamb sticker and it was correct. The original invoice also says it is a special edition however it doesn’t have the tt badges, tt door sill protectors, black aluminum shifter knobs, suspension, crawl control and wheels. Are you familiar with this model?
I have a 2007 TRD Special Edition with only 36k miles. Bought it brand new. I love it. Never took it off road. Lives in the garage. I'd be willing to sell it with a starting bid of 50k 🙏 I truly love & enjoy when I'm on the road with her. She's just super fun. It is hard to sell because I am so attached but for the right price I would sell it. 🙏
My question is, since most FJ are already around 10 years old it is now time to change some of their suspension, tires etc. Isn't it better to buy a regular FJ and just upgrade instead of paying extra for the TRD or TT.
I have a voodoo blue 07 base with locking rear diff. atrac, panoramic sunroof, heated (aftermarket?) seats, oem leather seats with FJ matching color logos, fj aluminum door steps, oem all weather floor mats front oem skidplate, marker lights on mirrors (noticed that some FJs don't have marker lights on their mirrors). I think my base model had some kind of deluxe interior package.
Thanks for sharing! Though there was no upgrade interior package, perhaps a previous owner had the seats custom done with the leather/heated seats with logos and it was done in such a way that it looked factory! I bet it is nice! As for the mirror marker lights, if you are in the US almost every FJ has them except for the absolute base model FJs that came with nothing pretty much. But in other countries like Australia they didn't do mirror lights due to local auto regulations so instead the FJ has marker lights on the front quarter panel behind the front wheels.
Tomorrow I'm going to check a no so special edition with all the extras of the TTSE and with after market wheels and 33's basically a TTSE for a better price
I have a 2014 TT Canadian version. It seems to have all of the same TTUE attributes. It even has the stock FJ roof lights. I've upgraded the suspension to Bilstein 6112's in front and 5160's in the rear. Would you say that exceeds the TTUE now? Great video! Thanks
I bought a 2011 trail teams or nsse not quite sure because it has a aftermarket baja roofrack and didn't have rock rails or the tt floor mats but did have the tt cargo mat and the badges which you can buy on eBay so I don't really know.
They only made the TT floor mats for the 2008 TTSE so someone probably bought them and added them, and if there isnt Trail Teams badges on the dashboard and rear door as well as a triple gauge dash cluster it may be a NSSE.
You mentioned the 2007 TRDSE has the TRD quick shifter with the manual transmission. Do you know if the 2008 TTSE with a manual transmission also has the TRD quick shifter? Thank you.
Great video. What year did they start adding the sub tanks? Here in Australia it was 2013 that the 150 litre tank became standard. My 2014 has 150 litre tank.
Thank you! There indeed are, Black Cherry was only made for the 2007 model year, but 2007 and 2008 were the years where the most FJ Cruisers were sold, so that could mean colors like cement grey when used on standard (non-trail teams) FJs in 2014 are actually more rare. Magma is also uncommon since it was only used for 2013 and 2014.
I just bought a 2013 FJ Trail Teams stocked in July 2022. The tires size I bought with are 265/75R16. What would be the biggest size tire I can put on a 2013 Trail Teams stocked FJ without doing any modifications? Would 285s fit? Any info would help.
Here is a link to a video I did all about fitting larger tires! th-cam.com/video/Sx3CcBBHIcw/w-d-xo.html but yes generally 285s will work for most folks if their alignment is correct.
@@FJX2000_Productions Love that you are sharing with the FJ Fans so much helpful information that is so intelligently put together. Thank you. How hard is it to get an FJ Air-Dam since the stopped selling them? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Sounds hot. Awesome cars to buy this year and next year. I'm stoned, what kind of vehicle can I afford, but nothing sucky ok. I love big trucks like Ford and CHEVROLET. Just think about it
Fun story, so I mentioned how only the concept 2014 TTUE had the blue inserts and stuff like that and apparently they ended up selling it and I got to chat with the owner of the original concept TTUE they used to take the promotional photos! So that FJ does exist somewhere out there!
This is a great video although I don't have a fj trail team. So I guess I'm not cool. I have a 2012 still building getting icon suspension thank you for your previous video. Can you explain to me about the rear differential lock. Love your videos
The rear diff locker and A-TRAC only will work when in Low 4WD (4Lo). When the rear locker is engaged, both rear wheels will spin at the same speed no matter what, which is great for offr0ading on difficult obstacles where you need as much traction as possible but it is not recommended if you are turning sharply as it can cause the wheels to bind up and put stress on the axle.
great content! one question, how come i see some 2014 TTUE with the black grill instead of white? Did they come in both colors or is that the result of that particular owner getting it painted? Thanks for your time. BTW, my favorite TTSE is mine, 2013. Although I love the look of all of them, especially the 2008.
@@TRD_Cueto hard to say, depends on what similar mileage and year FJs are selling near you since it can vary from state to state. And because it is a special edition that makes it a bit more valuable too. So it is really a hard one to call. I feel like similar FJs though are selling in the $14,000 to $16,000 range
@@FJX2000_Productions thanks! I'm in Tennessee where values are pretty solid all the time since we don't typically deal with rust like states to our north. This one in particular is priced at 20,500 which I believe is high but in today's market 🤷♂️🤷♂️
My 2010 I bought used in iceberg White. It is a automatic transmission with the 4WD transfer case. It had all the bells and whistles except it had a silver TRD badge on the right side dash where other badges denoting TTE are located. Except mine just shows TRD with Toyota Racing Development printed on the bottom. I was curious since I also noted Bilstein shocks up front in blue and yellow. I researched the vin on Toyota’s website and traced the original dealer features and options sheet. It seems that it was a regular fj but came with the TRD options minus the color scheme and badging and wheels. Could this have been a special order item or dealer package option? My understanding is TTSE and TRD packages are assembled in country after the vehicles are off loaded from the cargo ships at Long Beach or whatever US port they dock at. I would appreciate any light or input you could shed.
You are correct that most special edition packages were finalized and put together in California after the FJs were unloaded after their trip from Japan. But it sounds like your FJ is either a TRD Package (not special edition) FJ Cruiser or just an FJ that the previous owner installed some fancy TRD badges or stickers on, which is more than likely the case. Doesn't change the fact though that you have a sweet FJ now and can have lots of fun with it!
Do you know what lettering in the vin# that would let ya know what options your FJ has. Mine is an 2007. All the badges are gone, but mine has the white top and all the options like skid plate,9 speaker system, door floor plates and so on.
Was the TRD supercharger an option or included on the 07 and 08? I met someone that bought a new 07 TRDSE (back in 2007 of course), he said it came stock with the supercharger. How many of those were made?
A dealership certainly could have installed one before selling it brand new but it was definitely not part of the standard TRDSE package. So I wouldn't doubt that he could have bought one with a TRD supercharger already installed but there would be no exact number as to how many specific dealerships could have done this as it was probably only something a couple dealers ever did.
None of the packages included a supercharger, but dealerships occasionally would install them in brand new FJs as an additional feature. Or of course people would add one themselves after purchasing an FJ.
That is a model I would cover in part 2. Since it was sort of an aftermarket deal and not an official Special Edition from Toyota, I decided to not include it in this video.
Man I just love this vid!!! It gives you the right info 😄 but I have a question. How do I get BETTER gas mileage and how much should all new shock absorbers cost installed? It looks like a big job to do.
Thanks! So removing all mods and making the FJ as light as possible would help gas mileage as well as smaller tires and having no roof rack. But who buys an FJ for the gas mileage? No one! Haha as for the lift I’m not sure. Depends on which shop you go to and what lift you get. There is so much difference in price among different kits ad different shops.
The 2011 army green is FALSE! This was due to the Tsunami in Japan so they paused production and because they were already promoting the army green trail teams they decided to ship over what they had at the time so that’s why some have roof racks some don’t
Don’t worry I did my research, I thought the same exact thing. But when you look at the dates of the events and when things were posted, people were bringing up information about the incomplete Trail Teams packages about a month or 2 before the tsunami even happen! Crazy huh?
Hi......Question please....I have a 2007 Cruiser, which is all one color...silver. I have never seen anything about a silver Special Addition....it does not have any kind of stickers on it depicting "special".... it has never been wrecked or re-painted.... can you tell me more. I think I must have one of the earliest models ever produced? Is it anything special?
I am pretty sure a previous owner probably had the roof color matched to the body, it is a modification many folks have done over the years since as you said, there is no silver special edition.

Just seen a 2007 Toyota FJ Cabo Edition. Voodoo blue with a black top. All leather seats with the Cabo Edition stitched into the seats. Had all the bells and whistles. (Great video) 😁
Thank you for setting things straight.
Of course! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Great video, my friend had a 2013 or 2014 FJ that was peach color. I have a 2007 in voodoo blue. I could never under stand why the early models did not have map lights.
So true! Haha and it wasn't until 2008 that they added the side sun visors
Nice video man! Thanks for putting this together. 👍
Of course! Thanks for watching!
Keep it up! thank you for all of the awesome content
Excellent info on all trail teams. Also how you point out house special and rare the 2010 TT is with the production number. I own a 2010 TT stock!!!! Purchased knowing it was the rarest. Keeping it stock and know its value is in its original stock form. Keep up the good work!!!
One tastefully moded and taken care of will maintain its value too.
Very informative ! I appreciate all the research that went into this, thumbs up 👍.
Awesome video! So much very well detailed info! Nice job!
Thank you!
Very informative video! Can one fall in love with an automobile?🙄
I did!
Glad to hear it!!
Great video, awesome content, how about doing one video on the options included with the regular FJ's such as leather seats, DVD players etc... 😊
Excelente video. Te felicito. Todas las especiales FJ me gustan, en especial 2007-2010-2014...
Would love to get one of these in the USA
America loves the FJ … we were sad to see it discontinued … until NOW! YESSSSSS !!!
I Love the FJ it’s sick , eventually I plan buying a TTSE or a TRDSE trim FJ , I want to get the 6 speed manual but I don’t see a lot of special edition FJ’s equipped with them
Just subbed! I love my FJ!
Glad to hear it! Thanks!
07 trd se manual here 👍 The Unicorn 🦄
Ofc the ultimate edition I enjoy your video thumbs up
Great Content!
Would you happen to know the Part Numbers for all the Trd Wheels.
That would be really cool for those building a TRD FJ project
The ultimate irony about SE's is that their equipment wasn't particularly impressive, yet because they're "Special" enthusiasts usually try to keep them as stock as possible. So the "Not So Special" FJ's quickly eclipsed most of the SE's with far superior aftermarket upgrades. The smart guys and gals refused to pay that SE premium and spent their savings on better upgrades.
Great video! I have the 2014 TTUE, after watching this video, I don't feel special anymore 😂
Oh man, that's my dream car. Been looking for a decently priced one all year, only found one and it was pending sale already unfortunately...
It is rumored that around 10% of all FJs made were manual transmission models, so there are not necessarily super common!
Amazing !!! Just Amazing!
Thank you!
Where was this Video 6 months ago! When I was looking for this information!
Bought my 2008 brand new (on my birthday) Trail Teams. Still have it. Just over 80k miles.
Dang that's like less than 6k miles a year
Hi any information on the 2011 60th anniversary edition? Love the video, it was very informative nonetheless :)
Looking to sell? :D
@@joshclark5447 two weeks too late 😔
Sold it . Good luck on your quest! 👍
No TT in Australia 😪. However my heritage blue 2014 has all the good toyota bits and aftermarket bilsteins so close enough.
I own a 2010 Trail Teams that I bought new in 2010. It only has 37,000 miles on it now.
I actually talk about that very thing at the 23:26 mark in the video. It is definitely a consideration.
@@FJX2000_Productions right I noticed that right after I put the comment. Nice video
Thanks
My 2012 TT did not come with 6 spoke alloy wheels. It came with steel wheels. Toyota ran out of wheels because of the Fukushima earthquake.
I want all of them!!!!!😭😭
Same here!
Greet video ! Did all of the 2013 trails teams in cement grey have the rear diff lock ??
Yea they did 👍
I bought a 2011 trail teams or nsse not quite sure because it has a aftermarket baja roofrack and didn't have rock rails or the tt floor mats but did have the tt cargo mat and the badges which you can buy on eBay so I don't really know.
They only made the TT floor mats for the 2008 TTSE so someone probably bought them and added them, and if there isnt Trail Teams badges on the dashboard and rear door as well as a triple gauge dash cluster it may be a NSSE.
@16:33 Hey thats me!
That's awesome! Thanks for reporting in!
Just bought a 2012 TTSE
Lucky! Very jealous!
You mentioned the 2007 TRDSE has the TRD quick shifter with the manual transmission. Do you know if the 2008 TTSE with a manual transmission also has the TRD quick shifter? Thank you.
I do not believe so, but some folks may have had it added on by the dealership or after the fact.
Great video. What year did they start adding the sub tanks? Here in Australia it was 2013 that the 150 litre tank became standard. My 2014 has 150 litre tank.
Amazing video! Are there colors more rare than others?
@@FJX2000_Productions thank you for replying.
Found a 2011 nsse FJ listed for about $32k recently, but it sold fast
I wonder if the Air-Dam on top of the FJ would help with wind and miles. When you have things stored on the roof for long trips?
It may help a little but ultimately you are probably better off getting an aftermarket roof rack if you want to store things up there more securely.
Just think about it
I have the 2014 Ultimate. I wish it had the blue inserts on the interior.
Same! Haha
Hell yeah same 2014!
Fun story, so I mentioned how only the concept 2014 TTUE had the blue inserts and stuff like that and apparently they ended up selling it and I got to chat with the owner of the original concept TTUE they used to take the promotional photos! So that FJ does exist somewhere out there!
@@FJX2000_Productions yeah I heard the concept one had them.
I am thinking about buying some and painting them.
I need a FJ in my life! Toyota bring it back😢😭
great content! one question, how come i see some 2014 TTUE with the black grill instead of white? Did they come in both colors or is that the result of that particular owner getting it painted? Thanks for your time. BTW, my favorite TTSE is mine, 2013. Although I love the look of all of them, especially the 2008.
Yeah they only ever came in white, so an owner just probably painted it for their personal taste 👍
I just found a clean all factory, 07 TRD Black FJ with 145k miles. Considering buying it....
That would be sweet! I loved mine!
@@FJX2000_Productions with today's market what would be a fair private party price for this FJ?
@@FJX2000_Productions check out TH-cam : 2021 TOYOTA FJ CRUISER AWD
My 07 vodo blue has a supercharger from factory but no markings of anything special. It has everything even the chrome door things but no trd badge.
Do you know what lettering in the vin# that would let ya know what options your FJ has. Mine is an 2007. All the badges are gone, but mine has the white top and all the options like skid plate,9 speaker system, door floor plates and so on.
Not sure the VIN would tell you that but if it has a white roof then it isn’t a special edition. Probably just Upgrade Package 2
Do any of these models come with a super charger?
None of the packages included a supercharger, but dealerships occasionally would install them in brand new FJs as an additional feature. Or of course people would add one themselves after purchasing an FJ.
fj 2022 in Saudi Arabia is 147000 sar is it wort it ?
I’m not sure the value of FJs over there so I really cannot say!
So your saying my 07 TRDSE manual transmission already comes with a quick shifter?? I was just about to buy one for it lol
Well it might or might not, does it already have the TRD shift knob on it?
@@FJX2000_Productions yes it has the black and red TRD shift knob
@@lucaswells1878 well I cannot guarantee it but I’m pretty sure you probably have the quickshifter👍
What about the FJ Crawler Edition?
That is a model I would cover in part 2. Since it was sort of an aftermarket deal and not an official Special Edition from Toyota, I decided to not include it in this video.
Man I just love this vid!!! It gives you the right info 😄 but I have a question. How do I get BETTER gas mileage and how much should all new shock absorbers cost installed?
It looks like a big job to do.
Thanks! So removing all mods and making the FJ as light as possible would help gas mileage as well as smaller tires and having no roof rack. But who buys an FJ for the gas mileage? No one! Haha as for the
lift I’m not sure. Depends on which shop you go to and what lift you get. There is so much difference in price among different kits ad different shops.
I have the FJ Crawler edition from 2008. I don’t think I’ve seen any other around
They are certainly uncommon, but like I said, I may do a part 2 video that would definitely include that package
Crazy huh?
👍👍👍
Hi......Question please....I have a 2007 Cruiser, which is all one color...silver. I have never seen anything about a silver Special Addition....it does not have any kind of stickers on it depicting "special".... it has never been wrecked or re-painted.... can you tell me more. I think I must have one of the earliest models ever produced? Is it anything special?
I am pretty sure a previous owner probably had the roof color matched to the body, it is a modification many folks have done over the years since as you said, there is no silver special edition.
@@FJX2000_Productions but it has ALL the special edition features in it.
@@cissie1819 what features are you referring to? Either way, unless it is mentioned in this video, it is not an official special edition
@@FJX2000_Productions it has the power supply in the back, all 6 of the buttons in front, like the Atrack, etc and the three gauges on the top of the dashboard, like compass, clock, etc.
