Funny eh ... back in the day the 16v BDA was a world leading 2.0L engine concept ... and now a little 1.6L shopping trolley ( like the Toyota Yaris produces more power, economy and does a 1/4 million miles before it needs to be touched with a spanner !!!
I wonder how WRC drivers would cope with a real car like these vs the current batch of computer aided slot racers

The awesome sound of a Ford 4 cylinder racing engine. I had a 71 Pinto years ago that had a 1600 cc Kent engine in it. Does anybody out there know was Kent considered a Ford power plant? I don't really know but that sure was a fun little car to drive with the 4 speed manual trans. What can be said about the Kent engine and do you think some.... or all of these Escorts in this video are running them? I am not well versed about rally racing. Please let me know you rally guys !!!

+427GT40 Very few would run a Kent engine - though the Ford 'Kent' bottom end was the basis for some more exotic motors like the Lotus Twin-Cam and Cosworth BDA (which is likely to feature here).
