We've done our DNA & we all was surprised on the results. All 3 generations have different majority . Mines were different from my youngest grown daughter & my grandson, interesting!

The majority of the people in the video speaks volumes. SMH How can we be in the minority in learning about our own history; how? How can we not want to be involved in OUR own history? How are we comfortable denying OUR history; how????😭😞😭

I develop goose bumps when you start to narrate about South Africa, infact I cried when you start to talk about this beautiful land that did not have of have hope.
There is no one who can explain this the way you did. Man!!! You said it all. In fact you nailed it. You are a real South African. Forgive me for not saying American.

There definitely must have been a few people who were subjected to slavery like situations in SA including the likes of Sarah Baartman but slavery as it's understood from Western history did not take place here. However we do know that people were brought in from Asian countries to be 'enslaved' around Cape Town because our ancestors were to brave and fearless to be subjected to that. This is also the reason why indentured Indian laborers had to be shipped in to come and work in sugarcane farms because our people wouldn't do that and were prepared to fight to death to not be disrespected on their own land.Yes,our history is very pain, tragic and complex 🇿🇦.

WoW!!! I have had the pleasure to experience South Africa, quite some time back. While viewing this video it brought back some good memories, however my experience was different. My trip to Jo'burg/Burban was filled with mixed feeling and for various reasons, it was not one of pleasure but that of a Medical Mission and from what I had seen televised here in North America I was just filled with reserved anticipations. I was pleasantly surprised, humbled and grateful. I wished I had the time to experience some of the places like Robben Eliand, our schedule did not allow for it, so I thank you for the brief but informative digital tour. I did however briefly visited The Hector Pierterson Memorial and Museum in Soweto which was an epic moment for me. Unsure that the powers that be will allow for this upcoming trip with your group, hopefully looking forward to 2024. I thank you for bringing fun and informative impact experiences attainable through personal experiences as well. Shalom!

These guys were fearless titans, they were prepared to die - they make me incredibly proud to be black. Where are their equivalents today?
Nelson Mandela, Walter Sisulu, Gowan Mbeki, Raymond Mhlaba, Elias Motsoaledi, Andrew Mlangeni, ‘Kathy’ Kathrada and Dennis Goldberg.
Add Malcolm X, Martin Luther King , Dorothy Height, Olaudah Equiano, Marcus Garvey, and other American titans to the list

Yes, Coloured people of the Cape Colony (Western Cape) who have surnames December, January, February, July, August, September, October, November (I have never met a May, April, June, March) all are descendants of African slaves from West Africa (Angola, Gabon, Guinea). They attained those surnames (last names) from the month they arrived in the slave market of the Cape (in Cape Town).

@iAmLeslieJones It could mean: 1. The person took their first name and made it a last name, a very common practice, also common is to name a child after their birth month.
      2. In relation to Cape slavery, it is recorded that at one auction day for slaves into the Cape, one trader had a "large batch" to auction, so they ran out of names to give them and started reciting calendar months in the order of appearance of the enslaved persons and that's how they were named.

the name " africa " is also colonial. we are alkebulanians " garden of eden " fruitful land n resourceful beings . Paradise land is the whole continent . constantine emperor of Rome " envisioned " they say ..actually meaning made up the character jesus as he deployed imfamous angelo the artist to bring to life . as that story is actually plagiarism from the world-alkebulanian story . its all metaphorical by the way but caucasians are mechanical meaning they believe in tangible stuff. That way they can controll majority of people through idolatry .
Peace to ya'll. from southern alkebulan.
®️♻️🌍. You can check out novel " book of the dead ; when we ruled by r.walker ; precolonial black africa by Diop ; credo mutwa etc ..
