I develop goose bumps when you start to narrate about South Africa, infact I cried when you start to talk about this beautiful land that did not have of have hope. There definitely must have been a few people who were subjected to slavery like situations in SA including the likes of Sarah Baartman but slavery as it's understood from Western history did not take place here.However we do know that people were brought in from Asian countries to be 'enslaved' around Cape Town because our ancestors were to brave and fearless to be subjected to that.This is also the reason why indentured Indian laborers had to be shipped in to come and work in sugarcane farms because our people wouldn't do that and were prepared to fight to death to not be disrespected on their own land.Yes,our history is very pain,tragic and complex 🇿🇦.
WoW!!! I have had the pleasure to experience South Africa, quite some time back. While viewing this video it brought back some good memories, however my experience was different. My trip to Jo'burg/Burban was filled with mixed feeling and for various reasons, it was not one of pleasure but that of a Medical Mission and from what I had seen televised here in North America I was just filled with reserved anticipations. I was pleasantly surprised, humbled and grateful. I wished I had the time to experience some of the places like Robben Eliand, our schedule did not allow for it, so I thank you for the brief but informative digital tour. I did however briefly visited The Hector Pierterson Memorial and Museum in Soweto which was an epic moment for me. Unsure that the powers that be will allow for this upcoming trip with your group, hopefully looking forward to 2024. I thank you for bringing fun and informative impact experiences attainable through personal experiences as well. Shalom!

Yes, Coloured people of the Cape Colony (Western Cape) who have surnames December, January, February, July, August, September, October, November (I have never met a May, April, June, March) all are descendants of African slaves from West Africa (Angola, Gabon, Guinea). They attained those surnames (last names) from the month they arrived in the slave market of the Cape (in Cape Town).
