Brilliant. I finally understood the exact and completely opposite end configuration on each side of the cable and why.
My question, you stressed the importance of having a tight globe strand (black) wire. Why?
I understand that a tight base (silver) wire is important so that it doesn’t move much (I think) but why do the globes have to be tight, can’t they be loose and hanging like upside down waves?

How would you install on plastic siding? Will it crack or cause siding to come off?
I’m assuming it’s covering wood. Might want to do a test drill and see what’s behind it. Wood is ideal to anchor this and get the line tight.
Can you drill straight onto the vinyl siding?
Yes there’s plywood framing behind it
I have 3 places to attach around house but no where to put a post or light or a planter. My question is how far can you stretch guide wire across?

I have an outlet in the backyard, however it will not reach the string lights that I want to hang on the fence. What is the best way to get power over there? I heard extension cables are dangerous and should only be used as a temporary thing such as christmas lights. Thanks!
Type UF cable. 12/2 with ground or 14/2 with ground ran underground. Otherwise you need to hire an electrician to bury conduit and run wire to a box to add an outlet. You need to add an outdoor receptacle either way with gfi protection
