Strangely enough this feels like the best representation of tv show reboots, I love the line of “I keep just want what we once had, but each time I capture less of your essence” It’s so true, every reboot takes us further and further away from the original
Misyery S.A is like the 4tshis rebooth in the line and is GOD TIER. I believe that it is not intrinsic to the reboot, if not the people behind it have no passion for the project
@@73roken In short it means most effective tactics available which means to effectively achieve a goal so in this case it's probably referring to how Velma believes it is a show that can reach a wider audience and gain profit through pathetically trying to show diversity in the worse way possible which is mostly common in western media now a days: good idea bad execution.
I gotta admire that about this short and when you take the Velma show in consideration: Being an adult animated comedy/horror show, they could've so easily made Scooby another Brian Griffin who's unlikeable and gets with human women and drinks in an attempt to make traditional Scooby Doo edgy.....but by having him absent in the actual show, it was genius and a blessing in disguise People who were watching Velma were probably asking all along "Scooby Doo, where are you???!! We could use you right now to get rid of this imposter who's masquerading as our Velma!" due to hating this flawed Velma, and since the creators of the Velma show said Scooby Doo would NOT be in the show, this was perfect because we saw how much of a disastrous world and loss of innocence it seemed without Scooby. To not include Scooby was to not include morality or good will, and us who grew up with "Scooby Doo Where Are You?" were much more attached to feelings of having what the show once had..... This Scooby Doo is not just a great twist to what would've made this Velma show redeemable and added to what would've been the greatest mystery of all, it would've served as a visual representation of the original source material claiming back its ownership after so many different unoriginal creators trying to spin and distort the IP in selfish, hateful reasons This was just ironic beauty to me and really sets the tone for how modern media does old IPs a diservice everytime lol

Agreed. This line is absolutely incredible. "Scooby" doesn't like to chase because he wants to be the one getting chased by monsters when solving mysteries. He doesn't want to be a monster in all of this. He wants to run WITH the Mystery gang, not after them.
I love how when scooby grabs velmas' body in the flashback his jaw is elongated and so snaggle toothed its made clear his true form is nothing like a dog. Also, scooby as a godlike eldritch entity to tie together the myriad versions of scooby doo that have existed is shear brilliance. Bravo.

I came here expecting to see one Velma insulting the other while the original gang stands to the side confused as heck. This was far better than anything I could’ve hoped for, and now I’m wishing it was a legit tv show. I would binge that so hard, you really have a gift!
Shaggy asks norville wheres "his dog", daphne is daphne, fred tries to be friendly with the new gang, and the og velma is either calm or roasting the shit out of blacklma without even trying to.

@@psycholaw4394 Very insightful. I think Mystery Inc is a great show, but it’s also not a one-to-one copy of the original. In fact, it strays a lot from the original (in the best way possible).
I’d absolutely watch multiple seasons of this plot instead of the real Velma show. The way you captured a haunting story and dynamic in less than 5 minutes is so impressive
Imagine the entire series becomes Velma remembering over and over, faster and faster. Learning to hide it, trying to find a way to destroy this god in a dog suit

This is genuinely horrifying, and I absolutely love it. Cosmic Scooby acts as an indomitable existential threat that’s just trying to get the right formula. And his uncanny, distorted form at the confrontation is just so unnerving. And Velma running in place, unable to escape Scooby’s influence, was the cherry on top.
What makes Cosmic Scooby worse is how he genuinely loves the gang, he enjoys being with them, for a being with this level of power to love insects like humans is cool and all yet it doesn’t care about the gang’s, specially Velma’s feelings, lives, thoughts or anything else, treats em like toys he can tear apart and rebuild
The idea of some shape shifting entity being able to reshape the world and people around it as it sees fit, embedding itself within a happy group of teenage misfits travelling the country solving mysteries. Murdering them and remaking them for sixty years because Velma manages to see through its control. It's an amazingly horrifying concept. These kids went missing 60 years ago. Yet there would be traces of them here and there where they've interacted with the outside world. Like ghosts through time. This could be the teaser. Then switch to live action, following a middle-aged detective as he desperately tries one last time to crack the cold case that's haunted him his entire career.
the irony is that this, could ACTUALLY work out, because maybe, this could tie into Learning with Pibby and this Cosmic Scooby could be an entity from the glitch doing it's own thing
@@tcsproductions4244 and... making him an all-powerfull god, also explaining why all these versions of Scooby-Doo exist without using the multiverse. But yes... just adding the dog would have been enough
Holy crap, I think the reason Velma remembered Scooby-Doo killing her and the gang was because she was still alive in 2:32 and if we look closely, there are tears coming out of her eyes, and this possibly means that the memory was permanently engraved into Velma's brain.
I think it also is her perceptiveness. Her core trait is being the “smart” one, and part of that nature is being the one most likely to question things
I actually like this theory because you need to be sentient for you to cry, so maybe there was parts of her brain that was still working and makes her remember all over again, also, she was sometimes scared īñ the actual shows, which was a nice touch
Like that moment of trauma; being ripped apart, seeing her friends being eaten alive by something horrific posing as their friend. In that final moment before she fully died/lost consciousness, her brain embedded that sense of doubt and mistrust into her very essence. So embedded that, despite the thing's efforts, she always has that sense that something is terribly wrong. Trying in vain to keep it from happening again, to protect herself and her friends from this thing that just won't let it end.
There’s one story called Black Dogs by Scary Story Time with Liam. It’s not exactly like this but there are some parallels. It is an audio creepypasta, though, so no creepy visuals like with this.
Reminds me of that Justice League episode titled "Legends" where this one very powerful being recreated the world before nuclear armageddon solely die to wanting to return to the "good ol' days"...
After hearing what Scooby said to Velma, I love how at first he tried to act like a normal dog without being able to speak in order to remain inconspicuous and see if that way he could get his gang back, but he got desperate when he saw that velma suspected him anyway and then killing the gang on the spot, showing his deep frustration, like a kid destroying his legos trying to make the perfect model
Yeah. But didn’t we have any suspicions when we first watched scooby doo. How can he talk in the first place??? How can Velma only remember what happens and not the rest of the gang??? And how can he think he can act normal if he keeps the same collar and locks the same without the dots and look more realistic??? It’s almost the same as the blue theory. Our favorite childhood show. How can these dogs use powers? Are they gods from another world??? What are they? And how can they talk and grow fingers if they were normal dogs??? Answer the questions down below.⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

Scooby's voice is haunting. The idea that he is some eldritch thing that just wants to enjoy a simple wholesome existence with these kids but always fails to do so because logic inevitably creeps in is both horrifying and tragic. And when he stood up, damn, what a moment!
@@gregorymuir1985 It seems that doesn't even work anymore, as simply being there triggers Velma. The fact one guy makes a better and more interesting story then an entire team of animators writers that spent probably months or more making a series with multiple episodes with a large amount of funding, says a lot
The fact he knows about all the iterations and history, is more than that whole team of writers know about the franchise. That's probably the biggest factor, he actually likes animation/Scooby Doo.
The problem with that is that they are using that to their advantage to get people to watch the show. Instead of just ignoring this garbage tier content everyone is paying attention to it. Its the sonic movie problem all over again. Now instead of making good content, directors will just make more garbage like this because it obviously works. A hate watch is still counted as a view.
Notice how Scooby didn’t even talk this time. He knew it was getting worse and Velma was remembering more quickly and so therefore he decided to give up the ability to speak to preserve their friendship. He loved his friends and their adventures together so much he was willing to give up the very thing that made him special in hopes it wouldn’t trigger Velma’s memory. But despite even giving that up… Velma still remembered.

To be fair the people behind Velma could probably do a really job too If they cared at all about Scooby Doo or its legacy and tried to make a good show instead of trying to inject woke garbage into everything.
That's because Mindy is about as creative as a rock. Horrible person, horrible writer who can't even write a compelling self insert because she's so bad at everything
What I love about this fan animation is that it implies Scooby Doo isn't just some eldritch god that's playing with mortals. He's grown attach to the mystery gang where instead of finding another group after killing them, he revives them. It is something that has fallen in love with 4 meddling kids and is going great lengths to keep the fun going. It's trying to keep their original personalities but Velma keeps on undoing its work. This in turn became its curse. Trying to get rid a part of the gang that always keeps coming back the moment Velma starts asking the real mystery. The worst part? Velma show is the worst version because it didn't just get rid most of what made Velma who she is. It practically created a velma thats not even a tenth of who it remembered. In my head when Scooby do said "it's getting worse." It's not just talking Velma but something bigger as its not even having fun anymore. its desperate to get it right but it knows that it's a losing game one both sides lost a long time. Personally this animation didn't scare me just made it depressing with the line 'you know I love you' because Scooby is just a kid who can't accept the show is over the moment questioned its ability to talk. It telling Velma that it loves her is basically form of begging her to stop remembering or questioning. To let it dream that nothing is wrong about their group but deep down it knows this cycle will keep on repeating.
Man, forget the fact that this was an incredible scooby doo parody... As a standalone horror, the atmosphere was impeccable! The narrative was witty, and the villain was cosmic. I'm beyond impressed!
I just love the idea of Scooby being an immortal Eldritch monstrosity that just decided one day to go on zany adventures with a bunch of teenagers because he already did everything else in his eons of existence. And rather than getting bored and going back to dominating the universe, he instead found love, companionship, friends, etc. And he wanted it to last forever, like he himself lasts forever. But it didn't. And he will do whatever it takes until he gets it back. Whatever it takes. Horrifying yet strangely sympathetic. Awesome video.
Just realized the line “I love…ALL of you” could have meant the whole mystery gang as well as every iteration of Velma and the rest Scooby has ever created. Why am I so invested in this now? No idea.
Did you watch mystery incorporated? SPOILERS They actually addressed scooby being able to talk (he’s an alien descendant) as well as transitioning into the original version of the show since it was a prequel. This animation follows it really well because the gang could remember their old timeline while everyone else either forgot or had previously died.
The major hole with it however is the consistent Scooby-Doo straight-to-video films that drop every few years between new versions of the series though. They typically have the gang in their traditional looks and continue to center the brand of Scooby-Doo even when each new show tries a new style/look with a creative different direction.
haha also it brings all the reboots into some sort of actual sensible continuity....explains why they always look slightly different in each iteration of the show since the 60s xD ...and in a way that's canon since it was actually a plot point in one reboot that scooby was an alien.
Yea I stopped watching scooby doo and I had seen the last series before so I thought maybe it’s an official crossover or just a fan made green screen cutting thing where they meet …. Welp i wasn’t expecting this
I like the idea of this - a monster that just wants to be with his friends, but eventually they figure it out, and had to start all over again… It’s a great concept, I would totally make a show around it.
The “ugh” that the omnipotent malicious Demi god pronounced after Velma says “but we’re meta now” is more relatable than the entirety of the actual show
@@carcinoalbo1186 meta is a prefix meaning "after or beyond". In media, it's a shorthand for meta narrative, which is when a media speak directly about media, or refers to itself as media, breaking the fourth wall. For example, talking about how "there's always an overly sexual scene in the first episode of a show" during an overly sexual scene in the first episode of a show is meta. Characters being aware that they are characters in show is meta. Meta can also mean trends, but I don't think it's the primary meaning here.

Petition to make this a real series. This has to be the most uncanny unsettling but also extremely entertaining fan animation I've seen in a long time. Respecting the previous imaginings, the music, the plot. Everything about this screams masterpiece
Interpretations here; Scooby is too pure for the world of "Velma" Scooby is the hero we always needed and Velma was the true bad guy all along To leave Scooby out of the Mystery Gang is to abandon God And so much more....
Eh... not really unsettling, I disagree. I felt it was pretty cringe-worthy with how hard they tried to make Scooby out to be a horror character. It would have worked a lot better if it was more subdued and got under your skin.
This 4 minute animation had more entertainment, horror, mystery, and fluidity than the entirety of Velma. WOULD definitely watch a series like this ngl
Imagine if HBO did this. Like, the first two episodes are the slop that they are, and the only people that are left are the hate-watchers, but then something happens in Episode 3, and BOOM.
The fact this animation made by an independant animator with limited funds has more mature contents and actual horror than the actual "adult show" is pretty telling on how today's cinema is getting out of touch about what makes a show good, this was a treat to watch
Yup the concept of scooby being a literal godly entity Rather than a shittalker velma we got This would have a big chance of being a succesful adult horror cartoon
When Velma takes the first glimpse of the past, Scooby gets sad as if to say please not again then Velma goes into shock and leaves the place, and the sparkle in Scooby's eyes disappears as if to say too late it happened again. I love that detail
What's sad is it's always Velma that brings up Scooby's ability to talk. If he just remade everyone except for Velma the illusion would never break... But he loves her too. It isn't the same without her. So he keeps bringing her back, and they're trapped in this cycle.
13 Ghosts, Scooby + Scrappy Show, plus quite a few movies that were just Shaggy, Scrappy, and Scooby. He tried...But someone always remembers or questions...eventually. I can even see Scrappy being the one to ask the question b/c he's young, curious, and does the exact opposite of Shaggy and Scooby.
The sad thing is, he tried to overcome the talking issue in this version. He was just going to be a regular dog on their adventures.. But even when he didn't talk, he didn't unhinge his jaw, and he didn't do anything too strange, he was still found out because of velma.
It really is an amazing theory to think Velma is the reason why they keep changing the animation styles because she keeps questioning why scooby doo can talk.
This is actually the PERFECT explanation as to why there are SO MANY Scooby-Doo shows/art styles. Also the way you draw demon Scooby-Doo is literally nightmare fuel. Props to you.
I mean, I don't know if you would consider the last iteration of Mystery Inc "fun". By that, I mean the last one shown in the slides where they were showing older version. The Mystery Inc series on crystal lake was basically Courage the cowardly dog for kids. Traumatizing but with some degree of happy ending
@haroldcleveland691 "we'd go solving mysteries together..it was simple...fun.." I'm pretty sure he means fun as in thrilling..to him tho cuz he's the one that created the world so 🤷
I love how despite the horrifying revelation, when informed this is her most flawed version, Velma can't help but quip about being meta. Even Scooby drops the menacing tone and just exclaims "Eugh". Very well captures how Velma's show couldn't hold a tone.
And how both showrunners of that monstrosity and the audience would react. The staff behind the show would almost certainly try to deflect any sort of criticism by trying to hold up one of the many reasons it's flawed as some kind of redeeming trait. And the audience, long tired and exhausted of being dismissed and abused by an industry that doesn't want to admit it's reliant on them, can no longer even muster the energy to give a damn any more.
A adult rendition of Scooby doo in the style of higurashi where it switches styles in the form of time loops/do overs would be so sick. The overarching mystery being right infront of them the whole time but unable to solve it due to the memory loss is genuinely a good premise.
Duuuude that was RAW, The idea that Scooby is an extra dimensional being and each iteration of the show is him trying to remake that original energy of the early series is genius!
I prefer to see Scooby as the core of their reality seeking to correct errors inconsistent with the structure and order of their world and the will of the WRITER.
I think there was a bit of backstory from when they added supernatural elements to the show that Scooby Doo could talk because one of his ancestors was an eldritch being (and I think I know a bit too much about Scooby Doo).
the idea of velma being in a loop where she knows the truth about scooby and thus is being chased by it is honestly an adult version of the show i would 100% sign up for xD
I think people are looking at this wrong…. this is a never ending nightmare for Scooby Doo. He is stuck in an infinite loop for his actions. No matter how hard tries to forget he is always reminded. This is his personal hell. Velma is the true antagonist who tortures Scooby.
I thought this was going to be a funny video of old Velma roasting the new one, but this is even better because it would actually make the Velma show interesting. Also, it's a masterpiece of a short film
This is really terrifying, one detail is how purely disturbed Scooby was when Velma asked the question. It shouldn’t be something he makes that big of a deal about, which adds a whole new mystery as to why this is such a huge deal for him.
Scoobs looks just as shocked. Maybe he didn't know either. Then survival instincts took over for a moment, or he panicked. Either way, he destroyed everything that mattered to him.
@@tom.8709 Because he cannot alter memories, only rebuild from the ground up. If he rebuilt the world only, the others would still be conscious about the changes.

Scooby didn't really have to explain everything to Velma. The fact that he wanted to speak to her despite knowing she'll forget again kinda shows that he's really sorry, disappointed, and heartbroken.
It might be an attempt to incept the idea that remembering is bad. If she keeps on remembering then perhaps on some level the conversation with scooby, or the general idea of it, will persist too and the next time she's "remembering" she might feel disinclined to pursue the line of thought. Scooby seems to be getting desperate for the outcome He wants and, short of changing her on a fundamental level when He creates her next, doing this thing differently might remedy the situation for Him.
@@KairoWolfThat’s how I take it; a more selfish thing. This whole scenario really drives home that all of it is inherently a selfish act for Scooby. He’s just venting.
Or maybe in this case...he's just _disgusted._ Think about it; Velma didn't really start _remembering_ this time...The memories were triggered when Scooby entered the scenario. He created a world to see what the odd variable was; this time, removing himself from the equation - a world in which Velma was completely free to do as she pleased without having the existential crisis of a Talking Dog... And what he saw her do in this world...was _abhorrent._ Scooby _chose_ to shut this world down; he reinserted himself into the equation, knowing it would trigger Velma to remember. @@GanonGhidorah This begs the question. Why does Scooby talk? Why? Why can he rebuild the world? What is he? What type of entity is he and what is he pursuing? Is it purgatory? Fr like they always went for a kid friendly "spooky" vibe in the mysteries, I'd love to see them keep the essence of the characters while leaning way harder into the horror
@ijornhribrudkrvir All the makings are there, just take the scooby doo formula and make all the ghosts and monsters actual killers then add a psychological horror spin to it
_Would you look at that:_ A single fan animation, made by a single individual, *in 4 minutes,* flawlessly out-shined the entirety of HBO's Velma and even beautifully laid the ground work for future dark mystery, eldritch horror, and witty comedy, all with respect to the older cartoons. This is what an adult animation reboot should be.
Scooby most likely didn’t involve himself in this world because Velma kept remembering, but he obviously couldn’t stay away forever so he just came back as a normal dog. But of course, Velma remembered. “Each time I capture less of your essence” brings a lot of explanations of why every time he tries to make a different world, Velma keeps remembering faster and faster. He just wants to have things the way they were, but he is so desperate to not let anyone about his secret that he has to kill them. Which is horrifying. Edit: also, I noticed how his voice is glitching and distorted because of how many worlds he has created and how many times he had to restart.
This was compelling storytelling. You gave meaning to the "most flawed" version of Scooby-Doo and I'm almost glad the show was made solely because of what you did with it.
It amazes me how this is actually better writing than a literal series that's on HBO. Everything you did, the angles, the perspectives, it made the scenery and situation way creepier, it sets the perfect tone. I want a Velma show with a plot like this, to be honest... It's really giving me WandaVision vibes, and I really loved the idea of that story.
Bro I was thinking it was like Wandavision too! I was thinking they could do the same thing were the first 2-3 episodes are the terrible rage garbage that they are, but then something like this happens, and BOOM, awesome show.
Fr i would see the show really going that way. It's the only thing that can "save". At least then Mindy can pretend the show was bad on purpose for the build up of this plot twist.
Honestly it makes sense Velma would remember, she’s the smartest. And scooby being this dark near omnipotent being putting up a facade as their comic relief character makes you wonder, how did scooby integrate himself so well into their group without raising suspicion with his talking, it’s almost like he put into their mind “hey a talking dog Cool!” As a posed to “A talking dog? Wha- WTF!!” And him saying he loves them but can brutally murder them in a flash like deciding to throw away rotten food shows his love isn’t care it’s like a child playing with a favorite toy. When the toy breaks, might as well destroy it completely and get another version of it.sometimes the toy is better and sometimes the toy is an inferior version.but he will play with it all the same.
It’s essentially a twisted version of love. He loves them in the sense of the ideal versions of them that he wants frozen in amber forever. So once the cracks begin to show that will shatter his ideal world, he burns it all down to start anew hoping that this time that he’ll get it right and things will remain in perfect stasis. But each time, Velma ends up breaking the illusion, disappointing him and making him do it anew again. This honestly would make for a pretty good horror series
Basically, he might be some sort of infohazard/cognitohazard. In other words, simply knowing about him or perceiving him makes 'talking dog' not sound unusual unless you REALLY think about it and question it. Velma may have resistance in part because she IS so smart, but every time she remembers, he restructures reality.
What I believe is that Scooby just wanted to have fun, to have friends, but he is afraid of them leaving him after noticing that he is not a normal dog, and then that fear makes him show the worst of himself, killing and reforming them every time
I just thought of something…..what if this entire sketch is a representation of the scooby doo fan base,Scooby kills versions of the Scooby gang(fans wanting something different),Scooby remakes them(the studios trying to make a more modern take on Scooby doo with their essence intact) Scooby destroys them again (fans not liking their adaptation) and their essence being lost little by little every single time in the form of the Velma show(corporations cashing in on woke trends and stripping away their identity entirely) but I what I noticed in every single adaptation Velma is the least changed out of the entire mystery gang up until the Velma. Maybe scooby is the corporation and Velma is the representation of the core of the show.
It's interesting to see the amount of humanity in Scooby. He's an eldritch horror, capable of resetting timelines, but all he uses it for is to have fun adventures. While this purpose may have been perverted over time, he still has mannerisms akin to a humans, such as his massive fear of being found out by the gang in each reboot.
They find out why in Mystery Inc. This video shows Mystery Inc. version of Velma, and it's explained in detail, so I don't know why Scoob is still freaked out about it.
They always had an eye out for the paranormal and unnatural. It’s so hilarious and ironic that the most fantastical and other worldly thing is literally a member of their group.
The most tragic part is that it seems like they never actually had to die in the first place. Scooby got scared and immediately rejected them before there was any real confirmation that they would reject him. He alone created a loop where they, especially Velma, have no choice but to reject him because he's truly a horrifying monster. One that just keeps harming them, and won't let them die.
That's exactly what I was thinking, I feel like Scooby probably could've just played it off with an "I don't know" but because he panicked and killed them, they're all trapped in this cycle that'll never end
@buzz9981 "The truth... The truth is, you're figments. Props in a children's entertainment show made to sell toys and commercial air time and direct-to-video cartoon movies. You are not real. It’s also sad we may never get something good like this as an actual show because it will “taint the childlike ness of scooby” nah man this is what I needed
All they would really need to do is state that the events of this are not to be considered canon by other scooby doo media, that way you can still have the great idea of past incarnations of the shows being connected by Scooby recreating the world without ruining the image of the original shows
Scooby not chasing after Velma is also in character for this context. He doesn't want to scare them, he doesn't even actually want to hurt or kill them, so it makes sense that he just wants to get this hard part over with quickly instead of going on a full on chase like any cheap monster would
@@nonamegaming6455 funny thing is that its intentional, it connects actual characters to that shit show and makes it actually have some resemblance of sense trust me:If this wa the ending of the show, it would make everyone scream "we are sorry, we didn't understand" XD In fact if that was the case we would have film theory debating "since when this is happening, how many times did this happen? This animation is incredible. Scooby's voice lines and design are perfect. There is just enough mystery within this one animation that everything is clear, yet the viewer remains hungry to know more.
This is truly horrifying. The story, the execution, the fact that our hero in our childhood has been a time and reality changing…thing is is an amazing concept, not to mention whoever animated this did an amazing job especially with scooby. When I saw him stand up I got scared. This is incredible. 10/10. Not to mention scooby’s voice.
I remember hannah barbara made a whole bunch of scooby doo clones like captain caveman and jabber jaw. Even a show like super friends technically had a scooby doo format in the original series.
this activated my fight or flight, bro. the whole deal with Scooby was unnerving in all the worst ways. the way he stood on his hind legs like that. the way he spoke in that broken voice. the way he explained everything as if he had done it thousands of times. how he rebuilt everything and everyone. his seemingly all-powerful and primordial presence and powers. the way he keeps Velma in place as she runs for her life. the way he materializes behind her without having to move. the way he said he'd get it right the next time. this is what nightmares are made of. and I love it.
Rebooty Doo seems like a fascinating character. He's simple and pure yet terrifying and smart. He's a god-like being that just wants innocent fun, but is cursed into an endless cycle of weaker versions of the life he once had. It's funny how he would connect each version of the franchise.
This is a good example of how you can change a person physically and mentally but you cannot change the soul if you are not the creator of that soul. Her soul is what's making her remember her other identities and past events. No demon or cursed beings can affect it. The cycles will continue until Scooby finally gives up their souls and set them free.
I love how this depicts Scooby as basically being a god among mortals and this whole time was just pretending to be scared of monsters the gang was chasing because he enjoyed their company and thought it was fun
An eldritch god. He finds it easier to kill them all and recreate the world, than to explain that he's just an alien and he never thought to bring it up because they accepted him at face value for so long. The furthest, darkest edge of sociopathy; where one does feel strong emotions - they just don't line up with human causes and concerns.

Could have just chosen a differen't breed instead of being so visually simmilar. Hell a different ANIMAL.
I gotta admire that about this short and when you take the Velma show in consideration:
Being an adult animated comedy/horror show, they could've so easily made Scooby another Brian Griffin who's unlikeable and gets with human women and drinks in an attempt to make traditional Scooby Doo edgy.....but by having him absent in the actual show, it was genius and a blessing in disguise
People who were watching Velma were probably asking all along "Scooby Doo, where are you???!!
This Scooby Doo is not just a great twist to what would've made this Velma show redeemable and added to what would've been the greatest mystery of all, it would've served as a visual representation of the original source material claiming back its ownership after so many different unoriginal creators trying to spin and distort the IP in selfish, hateful reasons
This was just ironic beauty to me and really sets the tone for how modern media does old IPs a diservice everytime lol

Scooby Doo yearn for the older days, back in the 60s when him and the mystery gang ventured across the globe seeking new mysteries to solve. But once Velma realised the odness of his existence, he panicked and killed everyone.. In his grief he remade the world almost indentical to the previous one but sadly, whatever the amount of time he recreated everything, it never was the same as supernatural entities begun roaming the earth and the memories of his friends made the timeline revolve around them
Mystery incorporated was everything Scoob despised.. gone was the simplicity of their adventures, the comaradery and his own importance. His friend formed bond & friendship with other people, their live begun straying away from the linear path he sought and another mystery he had no control over emerged alongside entities echoing his former team

What makes Cosmic Scooby worse is how he genuinely loves the gang, he enjoys being with them, for a being with this level of power to love insects like humans is cool and all yet it doesn’t care about the gang’s, specially Velma’s feelings, lives, thoughts or anything else, treats em like toys he can tear apart and rebuild
agreed, epecially the old 60s music towards the end.

This in turn became its curse. Trying to get rid a part of the gang that always keeps coming back the moment Velma starts asking the real mystery.

They actually addressed scooby being able to talk (he’s an alien descendant) as well as transitioning into the original version of the show since it was a prequel.
This animation follows it really well because the gang could remember their old timeline while everyone else either forgot or had previously died.
she remembered
But, all of this because she ask a question 😰
The major hole with it however is the consistent Scooby-Doo straight-to-video films that drop every few years between new versions of the series though. They typically have the gang in their traditional looks and continue to center the brand of Scooby-Doo even when each new show tries a new style/look with a creative different direction.

This hurt me
He wouldn't have to remake the world if he just laughed it off.
It really is an amazing theory to think Velma is the reason why they keep changing the animation styles because she keeps questioning why scooby doo can talk.

Good comments from both of you guys. Also possible that he is using it as a means to vent his frustration, particularly to the cause of it.
@@KairoWolfThat’s how I take it; a more selfish thing. This whole scenario really drives home that all of it is inherently a selfish act for Scooby. He’s just venting.
Or maybe in this case...he's just _disgusted._
Think about it; Velma didn't really start _remembering_ this time...The memories were triggered when Scooby entered the scenario.
He did this, _just so he could destroy this world._
_To destroy her..._
Scooby now knows for sure that he isn't the problem. There must always be a Scooby Doo...But we've known past experiences...the franchise _can exist without Velma._
Unfortunately, he cares too deeply for her - for all of them - to separate them again. So he's gonna keep on trying until he gets it right...
But this time...was definitely a failure.
@@GanonGhidorah This begs the question. Why does Scooby talk? Why? Why can he rebuild the world? What is he? What type of entity is he and what is he pursuing? Is it purgatory? Disgusted by his own existence, as something that shouldn't exist? As a dog that can talk? Is Scooby running from the ultimate truth? The fact that he shouldn't exist. Scooby most likely didn’t involve himself in this world because Velma kept remembering, but he obviously couldn’t stay away forever so he just came back as a normal dog.
What I believe is that Scooby just wanted to have fun, to have friends, but he is afraid of them leaving him after noticing that he is not a normal dog, and then that fear makes him show the worst of himself, killing and reforming them every time
Yep a and now you won't see your favorite childhood fairy tale as much as you used to
I just thought of something…..what if this entire sketch is a representation of the scooby doo fan base,Scooby kills versions of the Scooby gang(fans wanting something different),Scooby remakes them(the studios trying to make a more modern take on Scooby doo with their essence intact) Scooby destroys them again (fans not liking their adaptation) and their essence being lost little by little every single time in the form of the Velma show(corporations cashing in on woke trends and stripping away their identity entirely) but I what I noticed in every single adaptation Velma is the least changed out of the entire mystery gang up until the Velma.
In the original they were so logical and solved every mystery with it. So having Velma question Scooby felt so right haha.
Velma is smart, so her being the one to find out every single time is logical.

@@nonamegaming6455 funny thing is that its intentional, it connects actual characters to that shit show and makes it actually have some resemblance of sense
trust me:If this wa the ending of the show, it would make everyone scream "we are sorry, we didn't understand" XD
In fact if that was the case we would have film theory debating "since when this is happening, how many times did this happen? Are there any clues scooby remembering past universes" like of things :D
Imagine this was something that never confirmed as canon yet never denied from being canon. THAT WOULD BE META, THAT WOULD BE CRAZY!
@@nonamegaming6455 Like it supposed to be done, not like the show Velma.
@@makaramuss This is the perfect description of how this works and adds everything together
This would've been perfect and yet the creators still managed to fuck this up again
I come back to this video and appreciate how Scary and fantastic this animation is
This animation is incredible. Scooby's voice lines and design are perfect. There is just enough mystery within this one animation that everything is clear, yet the viewer remains hungry to know more.
Yess... ravenous
please dont beg for more. *i dont like to tell everything.*
They way it looks and stare was truly horrifying
And the gory stuff that flashing between his dialogue
Oh absolutely
one of the few times I was genuinely happy to see a character graphically murdered.
this animation is GOLD and I wish it had a show
this activated my fight or flight, bro.
the whole deal with Scooby was unnerving in all the worst ways. the way he stood on his hind legs like that. the way he spoke in that broken voice. the way he explained everything as if he had done it thousands of times. how he rebuilt everything and everyone. his seemingly all-powerful and primordial presence and powers. the way he keeps Velma in place as she runs for her life. the way he materializes behind her without having to move. the way he said he'd get it right the next time.
this is what nightmares are made of.
and I love it.
you gave me an idea...FNF Fight or Flight STARVED SCOOBY VS Velma (Velma SHOW)
The "i love you" part fucking shook me.
god fnf ruined the saying fight or flight.
The only one stronger than Shaggy...is Scooby.
@@catgaming8486 get starved'd
This would’ve been way better if this was a full series than the actual Velma we got
wouldnt be for children then tho...
@@mechanicer3105 the new velma is a adult animated show (and it fuckin sucks)

Rebooty Doo seems like a fascinating character. He's simple and pure yet terrifying and smart. He's a god-like being that just wants innocent fun, but is cursed into an endless cycle of weaker versions of the life he once had.
It's funny how he would connect each version of the franchise.
Can he be considered evil after all?
@@jpiny4854 nah, he is just chaotic neutral... with the taste for flesh and blood.
Rebooty doo is a brilliant name choice
Great I will change its name
kinda reminds me of the villain of over the garden wall
This is a good example of how you can change a person physically and mentally but you cannot change the soul if you are not the creator of that soul. Her soul is what's making her remember her other identities and past events. No demon or cursed beings can affect it. The cycles will continue until Scooby finally gives up their souls and set them free.
He will never let them free. Monster Scooby Doo Owns Them Forever They are his pets now and he is thier master for all eternity hahahahahaha!
@@RiveraFundora Ha lol 😆
I love how this depicts Scooby as basically being a god among mortals and this whole time was just pretending to be scared of monsters the gang was chasing because he enjoyed their company and thought it was fun
Coming soon… “Scooby Doo is an Eldritch god true”
An eldritch god.
He finds it easier to kill them all and recreate the world, than to explain that he's just an alien and he never thought to bring it up because they accepted him at face value for so long.
The furthest, darkest edge of sociopathy; where one does feel strong emotions - they just don't line up with human causes and concerns.
I assume you've watched Mystery Inc. then?
I think it’s supposed to be a knock on season 1 of Westworld. Back when HBO actually had decent shows.
