What a lovely song. To me it seemed to tell us to not do things to be noticed by others. To just quietly and humbly do good for others and be one with the reason God sent us here. And I know others might get something else entirely different and that's great. Everyone should listen to their inner spirit or heart. Thank you Bob!

Coke studio's early seasons(especially like 1-7) were always my favorite. there's a lot of gems in there(you can thank Rohail Hyatt, definitely look him up he was at the forefront of Pakistani/Western fusion since the 80s), most reaction channels don't pay much attention to them and go with the most recent ones for the engagement. Great reaction btw

wonderful reaction. thank you. Yes, the entire premise of Coke Studio Pakistan has been blending Eastern and Western music and creating something new. This is why the show has such success. Season 15 is around the corner.

First singer Saieen Zahoor is a Sufi musician he has spent most of his life singing in Sufi shrines, and didn't produce a record until 2006, when he was nominated for the BBC World Music awards based on word of mouth and emerged as the "best BBC voice of the year 2006". Also Noori is a band of two brothers 2nd and 3rd vocalists, I would recommend you to react to "Paar Channa De" (also features Indian singer Shilpa Rao) or ""Hor Vi Neevan ho" (my fav from them) both these songs have a solo by their mother aswell, she plays ""Sagar Veena"" a instrument invented by her father and she is probably only person who can play it or one of few.

Sir, greetings from Pakistan. Well that was an amazing reaction! I simply loved your style while giving your comments. The sentences were so articulated that it just drew me in. Beautiful introduction as well. By the way, Saeen Zahoor is still alive although not keeping a good health of late. He is 88 years old at the moment. The song was definitely spiritual. It was written in the 17th century by a very famous Sufi poet "Bulleh Shah". The meaning is quite deep but simply speaking it means the oneness of God the Almighty. Please do consider reacting to "Dost" by Abida Parveen from Coke studio season 7, if not already done. Will also give more recommendations in due course of time. Best wishes for the channel. With warm regards

Hi. Well thank you so much! First, I really appreciate the listen, and then (even more) the kind words. I've found that so many sufi songs have such a long history. To me, that is incredibly interesting and even more the reason to appreciate the song and it's meaning. I'm really impressed with the Coke studio videos. They're just wonderful and well produced. Thanks again for checking out my video.

Just to give you a bit more context, it was sung in three different languages i.e. it starts with one(Sindhi) and ends with another(Urdu) and the middle bit is (Punjabi). The poetry is from the 17th century, the period of enlightenment in the sub-continent.
It is a form of conversation between the enlightened and a new disciple where the Saieen(Sindhi honorific title like Sir) Zahoor "acts" as the master(the enlightened person).
In my view, it probably describes a poor traveller or merchant who comes across a saint and it is a conversation between the two, the saint(acted by Zahoor) asks for the traveller to calm down and welcomes them to the place (land), in those days people would travel large distances across the silk route and would come across places of cultural like Lahore (from where this particular poetry is inspired from), some would settle and some would continue.
This is a rendition of the inviting culture of those places in that time, where the traveller would be speaking a different language to the place the person might discover(hence the song in three different languages) and the conversations that might occur between them.
Needless to say it's one of my favourite song!

I wish I had a dad like you. Absolutely loved the wall behind you. I don't belong from that era but I'm hooked to 70s 80s music. I feel like I have an old soul. Wishing you good life pops. Great song choice
