The RX 6600 actually outperforms the RTX 3050 8GB at around the same >130W TDP. I have an Asus RTX 3050 8GB in one rig and an RX 6600 8GB in another rig, and can barely tell a difference.

idle power draw are 3W perfect for use as an AI card in a hypervisor. Although redeon cards have half the performance or even a thir of their nvidia copunterpart. Still for price/performance ratio wise the best card imo. About 100 Euros used.

@Disguised Dv8ant Well, they choose the MSRP for a reason, it's a price most people interested in the product would accept / buy it for. I am clearly not going to pay two to three times that price, which is the actual asking price right now.
So yeah, the old generation *should* go on sale as the next gen is approaching, but that clearly isn't going to happen. Also manufacturers should focus on fulfilling the demand instead of launching new products. We don't need "faster" yet. We need "reasonably priced".
So yes, 4-500€ is the price I would pay for a (new) 6700xt, even if it launched a year ago. Didn't get any slower in the meantime.
I'm afraid MSRPs keep increasing instead of being around the same for the same tier cards as it used to be).

To anyone watching this in late 2022, this card is $220 and well worth the buy. It's so silent, stays cool and provides an excellent gaming performance in AAA titles 1080p ultra. On Apex legends with a 3600x cpu and 2x8 3000 oloy ram, it stays locked at 144 frames on Apex Legends and 130 FPS on Ark Survival Evolved, both 1080p ultra. In terms of price, things are still crazy, at least here in Europe.
I bought a 6700xt from MSI "the gaming one :S) for 789€ around 2 months ago.
After a few days I got it, the price in most retailers on my country increased to 830€ more or less.
Now the same card cost in many retailers around 920€.
I know I still bought the 6700 at increased cost, but now, the price is basically crazy.
Funny, thing is, when I got the mail order, when I opened the mail box, the box of the card had a little of dust. So, for me, it is not the brands, but many retailers are hoarding the cards and wait to increase prices. I think AMD and Nvidia should do something about this.

So many comments completely out of touch with reality in this comment section. I was reminded why I rarely look at TH-cam comments. They're even more toxic than Twitter comments, and that says a lot. The RX 6600 is far from being a "garbage bottom tier card" like I saw one moronic comment suggesting. Some of y'all forget to realize that not everyone has $3,000 for an RTX 3090. For people on a four to six-year-old RX 580, RX 590, or GTX 1060, the RX 6600 presents an enormous upgrade. 1080p still feels like a luxury to me, let alone 1440p or 4k.
For me, after over a year of watching the GPU market religiously and saving up my spare cash for the last couple years, I was recently able to purchase the ASUS Dual RX 6600 for $493.00 off Amazon including tax. Despite how much the RX 6600 has been crucified by the internet, I feel no buyer's remorse whatsoever. It's a night and day difference over my aging RX 590. What's even better is that my RX 590 still has good resale value, so selling my 590 will pay for well over half of my RX 6600 upgrade. 😄
On an end note, I fully understand and see how the RX 6600 is disappointing for people on an RTX 2060 or RX 5600 XT, but I don't believe the RX 6600 was meant as an upgrade path for those people anyway. I believe the sole reason the RX 6600 exists is to finally give people on their old RX 580, RX 590, or GTX 1060 an upgrade to a decent modern-day card for under $500.00. Plus, RX 580s, RX 590s, and GTX 1060s still have good resale value, so after a person has sold their old 580, 590, or 1060, upgrading to the RX 6600 could potentially cost less than $200.00. In my opinion, that's a no-brainer, especially in today's PC market.

MSI's Mech model is very odd to say the least. Its default power management hard limits it to 100W (meaning it struggles to hit 50C under full load) yet it actually beats my old EVGA 3060 in Heaven by a measurable amount. Even with the odd power cap, it still boosts to 2.6GHz no problem, so the key takeaway from this GPU should be AMD's unprecedented efficiency with this and the 6600 XT.
