    ** SAFETY INFORMATION **
    Remember to always wear eye protection, hair covering, apron and gloves when making soap. If you've never made melt and pour soap before, check out these helpful videos:

    Anne Marie from Soap Queen TV: • Beginner's Soapmaking ...
    ** VIDEO TIMELINE **
    01:14 - making freezer paper tray
    02:53 - preparing design for rim
    03:40 - filling tray
    04:44 - adding second layer
    05:53 - preparing seam and inserting into mold
    08:24 - pouring main soap base into mold
    10:39 - unmolding and cleaning soap loaf
    11:39 - cutting and cleaning of individual soaps
    13:30 - final photo
    ** INGREDIENTS NEEDED **
    - 4 ounces Clear soap base
    -13.5 ounces of Goat's Milk soap base
    Pre-made heart column molds in the colors of red, black and grey.
    Pink mica
    .5 ounces of fragrance oil
    Rubbing Alcohol
    If you’d like to replace the Goat's Milk soap base, you can use another opaque soap base of your choice such as White, Shea or Cocoa Butter.
    Additionally, if you want to make a full size Pringles can mold your tray will need a piece of freezer paper that measures 11" x 11" with the finished tray measuring 9" x 9". To make the rim you will need approximately 10-12 ounces of soap base. Also, adding an additional 1-2% of vegetable glycerin per pound of soap used will make the rim more pliable. Don't wait for your layers to completely cool, you do want them slightly warm so it is pliable. Once the rim is inserted into a full size Pringles can, it will take approximately 22-24 ounces of additional soap to fill the middle. Of course, this would be less if you are inserting embeds or even making a half a can
    For help calculating how much fragrance oil to use, check out these helpful videos:
    • How to Calculate Fragr...
    • How to Determine Fragr...
    ALWAYS check the max IFRA usage rates for any fragrance oil you use.

    How cut the heart

  • @candlecocoon

    OMG, this is so GREAT! And the video is just excellent!!! I just need to figure out what to use instead of the Pringles can....Oh, and what did you use to carve out the red heart?

    • @angelalussow3321
      @angelalussow3321  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can definitely use a pvc pipe instead of a pringles can and the liner will work the same way. I just use a paring knife to cut away at the heart...just eyeballed it until I thought I was close.

    • @alwyngreen7205
      @alwyngreen7205 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use looped fishing line or use bag tie just looped ( the ones you get in a pack of freezer bags or some garbage bags have them) also what ever you use to make the soap don’t forget you won’t be able to use with anything else. Have you tried the PVC pipe yet?

      I had my brother in law make it for me. It will cut it but you have to go super slow, but I still break a lot of wires. Buddy's Workshop on Esty, I believe sells a cutter for MP

      It breaks too many wires. I would have you look at esty for Bud's Workshop. He makes cutters for melt and poue.

    how do you make the hearts????

    • @angelalussow3321
      @angelalussow3321  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Paul, I used a silicone column heart mold for both colors. Once they were set, I hand carved out a section the length of the red heart. I really took my time as I only wanted to remove enough so the black heart could nestle into the red. I then melted a little of the red base I had left and used it to soap glue the two pieces together. At the end of the video I did have a few voids between the two but fix by filling in with some melted red base. I hope this helps. Thank you for watching and I really hope you give it a try. If you do, post your creation! I would love to see it!

    How did you heat the soap bases?
    Also you don’t need glasses with MP Soap Base.
    You forgot to tell people that whatever utensils they use to make this or any soaps that they can’t ever use them in General Kitchen Preparation again.
