    You continually amaze me with the M&P soap. It practically sits up and begs at your command. Personally, I would have cut the amount of red by 50 grams and the black by 50-100 grams (because it’s such a strong color) to have more of the white, but I really like how this turned out.

    • @DeanWilson
      @DeanWilson  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had to reheat one. Just 10 seconds. I put all 3 containers in the microwave. Also this is suspending base, its different to that of normal clear or white soap. Its a lot thicker.

      I can only suggest trying another melt and pour base. You can't add any oils to melt and pour because the saponification process has already happened.

    @mimamwikali2945 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Which alcohol do you use to spray? Why use the alcohol?how many soap bars does 1kg of soap base produce ? Why do you check the temperature? Thank you in advance for replying ..

    • @DeanWilson
      @DeanWilson  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rubbing alcohol is what you need, you can get it in all chemists. Rubbing alcohol makes the layers stick together (bond like glue) and also pops all the bubbles on the surface. For my 1kg, i get 9 bars. 100-110 grams each, plus some end bits as samples.
      The temperature is checked so so the soap is not too hot, if it is it will merge with the previous layer.

    • @mimamwikali2945
      @mimamwikali2945 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much,i am venturing into soap making,what advice would you give to a beginner?

    • @DeanWilson
      @DeanWilson  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Start small, buy only what you need. Dont go buy every mica color. Ive talked to so many people that purchased 1000s of dollars worth of supplies then realised they dont like making soaps. Start basic and expand as you learn. Same with fragrances and molds. I knew a lady who had 100s of molds, i asked if she used them all, she said no. Only 3-5 of them. So be picky and not going for gimmick molds. Start with basics, dont just jump into swirling. Start with 1 color, then 2 colors then maybe a layer soap.

  • @emocraps07
    @emocraps07 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    awesome blend!! I've been messing up my M&P by testing out natural coloring - the colors don't always look as good as mica but I want an all natural soap. charcoal always looks good.. it's the green/yellow that turn out bad lol do you add any other oils to your blend? I mix in a little extra almond oil and vitamin E

      Thanks for watching. I dont add any oils to my melt and pour base. 100% from the supplier except fragrance and mica.

    How long does a full loaf of Melt and pour soap take to fully set up.
    This looks really good the colours work really well in this soap great job of the In the pot swirl.
    Maybe you could try a wall pour with M&P.

      I try and leave the 1kg loaf for at least 8-12 hours. Yes a wall pour MIGHT work ( lol ). But it will have to be renuked a few times i expect.

    Would you think it would be possible to do this without a suspension base soap?

    • @DeanWilson
      @DeanWilson  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, but you need to pour slowly and at low temp so the base your pouring does not merge with the other colors. From my experience, there is about a 30 second window to get it all into the mold at the right temp.

    Not a big fan of making melt and pour, but your soap is beautiful!
    I gasped when your cutter pinged.😅.

      Yes, I felt if I kept using the wire cutter it was going to break.

      I haven't heard of that base before. If you can get your hands on some, try Stephenson.

    Absolutely amazing Dean. Great job!.. I actually find that the Stephenson soap base does harden quite quick. Not sure if it's just me though :)
