My son asked me who my favourite TH-camr was the other day and I thought about it for a little bit and said you. I was like ‘oh yeah I guess that’s true’ I find this style relaxing and inspiring. I usually go off and make a video after watching. I’m 50 and have followed you for two years I think.
I'm 33 but I still find these videos weather targeting adults older than me helpful. I have a hunting and fishing outdoor channel since 2019. It's just now growing steadily with 2,239 subscribers it was a rough start. But I keep grinding and shorts have helped alot. I still prefer making long form content. Between Brian G, Nick Nimmin and Nate Black these are my go to guys for help learning about youtube and how to do it better😊

My journey has just begun. I got laid off, so I thought I would combine youtube and my love of travel. I can't afford to go to the destinations myself, like a lot of the other creators do. So I started a faceless travel channel. I have 7 subscribers at the moment, and hoping to get 7 more. Then 7 more, then, well you get the idea. I am 54, so I hope I am not to old for this. Good luck to all of you and hope you have great success.
I like the idea of dropping 2025 in the title. I think one of the biggest things is to try very hard to respond to every comment. Sometimes I really do not know what to say on some of the comments, but I figure anything that reflects the recognition of a viewer taking their time to leave a comment, is a good thing. Triggering type words in the title as well as on the thumbnail seem to make a positive difference. I'm learning that product reviews can be repetitious, but I think what separates one content creator from the another, is their personality and how the present the product. So yup, body language is a huge thing. I am about to be moving and trying to come up with ideas for new/different ideas for a background. Is your brick wall a backdrop or a real brick wall? I have a similar bookshelf like yours that I use already. But I'll probably have two areas for videos, one for my livestreams and one for product reviews. One area is going to be a small bedroom so this should be interesting and fun to figure out. Keep the videos coming, look forward to watching them!

Focus on your audience ! During the summer I did gardening short videos , " shoot and scoot " . Went from 50 subscribers to 150 . With the change in weather, no material for videos . So I gradually switched to van life travel. I lost some subscribers, but gained back some subscribers. I will stay with the van life topic , and with the new 3 minute Shorts , gain confidence and experience with longer limited editing . And control the , ummm , errr , ahhh and silent spots . And find an easier editing software .
As an over 50 TH-camr - I sort of divide TH-cam into “buckets” - Fancy, Fun, and Foundational. Fancy are videos with incredible editing and are mini filmmaking. Fun are the over-the-top videos usually done by younger Creators. Foundational are videos showing a skill, technique, or knowledge of some sort - which is what I try to do. It’s a big platform and there are likely more nuanced and specialized “buckets”, but I think that the biggest challenge is when you see one video that is getting millions of views when you get hundreds or maybe a few thousand. However, a smaller number of engaged viewers that are focused is (in my opinion) worth more than pure spectators.
@@LearningandTechnology agreed 👍🏻 all you really need is 1000 loyal ride or die fans…I personally would feel more satisfied knowing I made a difference or taught someone something they were searching for. Throwing a Lamborghini through a shredder generating millions of views sounds so…empty and useless. It definitely wouldn’t make me feel proud of myself.
This video was beneficial as far as educating yourself at the beginning of editing because I tried to outsource it, and I found that I still need to have the skill before I launch! I will take the time, so it will save me time in the future. Please make a video about monetizing for small channels.
2025 is the expansion ( I hope ) of our Father Son Paranormal hunting fun. “Two sleuths one mission, solve the Spooky” Growth, brand deals & monetisation are some goals but the bedrock, the non-negotiable is having fun with my son. In the end, if everything else fails, we at least have that 🎉 Thanks for all that you do 🙏
TH-cam can be so intimidating and confusing. So many creators saying all kinds of different things. Do THIS and you'll be GUARANTEED that...whilst another claims the opposite. It can be hard to weed through and know who to follow. I also seem to notice a difference approach in different niches, that then have completely different results too as one type of audience will resonate with that and another will not even bother clicking on your stuff. TH-cam isn't about luck or praying to the algorithm...I feel it's a psychological game.
I just mentioned guaranteed today I think in a video. I did several takes but anybody that says guaranteed. I personally couldn’t go there. I might say shocking results and they are to me that’s different. But guaranteed?

It is how you approach someone’s advice and what you’ll do with it. And because everyone is uniquely different from any other person on this planet, what I do might not have the exact same results vs what someone else does.

If you do that, I would add ‘over 40” to the end of your video title and or thumbnail. I would not start out with that in your title, unless you can confirm viewers are searching for that.
What do you change how you make videos, my friend? How are you research? I know you can get there, but I think you’d have to put in a little bit more time. I don’t know how much time you put into your videos, but my guess was not a whole lot. What is you doing? Solid videos quickly. This video was cranked out in about 2 1/2 hours start to finish.
I don't put much thought into them at all. I don't research. I don't edit. I don't pay attention to the analytics. I know I want to buckle down and make content that's going to grow my channel. I know all of the things that I need to do. I just have to do it.
