Been renting the auto model more than a month. For the low selling price I think it's reliable and very fuel efficient car. The controls and driveability is smooth and effortless. Definitely worth buying if you have a restricted budget. The downside is it doesn't have rear wipers, the infotainment screen is pretty bad, rear windows are not electric, and the dashboard and instrument display seem cheap and toyish.
I've been driving a rented S-Presso for the last two weeks in South Africa. Comments are... a) v frugal. Averages 24 km/l no probs. b) engine sounds 'agricultural' c) Tackles hills in 5th no probs d) Terrible on dirt track roads e) lacks any sophistication whatsoever f) has been beaten with the ugly stick Edit: a couple of additional points after handing the car back... - after 1,700 km, average fuel economy improved to 25.5 km/l (71.8 mpg) - there's no rear wiper or rear washer; not a good idea in South Africa! - it's impossible to see the left hand stalk as it's obscured by the steering wheel - rear parcel shelf doesn't lift when you open the rear hatch. Much as I hate the weird looks, being shaken to pieces on dirt track roads & the zero NCAP rating, the S Presso has its virtues.
lol cool review/summary on your rental. Do you know what's the best "cosmetics lift" on ANY ugly car? Just put on some nice Rims. It will transform the most grotesque of cars, just Like getting a new hair cut(It works on some people... not all). Just in case someone owns it and wants to upgrade the looks.
I'm looking to buy a new car. So far, its a toss up between the Renault Kwid or the Suzuki S-presso. Open to other ideas though. requirements: * must be affordable *must be an automatic
Hy beautiful !!🙋🙋, I am from India, this car is made here and exported in many other countries , between the qwid and the espresso , I would highly recommend u to go for the spresso as it has a japanese engine which is much more peppy to drive , much more refined n smooth n silent as compared to the qwid, not only that the spresso can go more than 100 kms in one gallon of fuel or 20 to 28 kms per litre , spresso is smaller and narrower than the qwid which makes it easy to go through dense traffic and narrow streets, it is higher in height which makes getting in and out very comfy as u dont have to bend much, price wise both have the same price here in India........and as for the automatic option, spressso is known for being the best automatic in its class !!...go for it gorgeous !!😍😍
I really think you should go for the S-Presso... The Kwid is worth nothing on the second hand market... Suzuki doesn't loose much value and you won't loose money... And Suzuki won't take your whole paycheck if something breaks and the Kwid will as it is a Renault... Please don't buy a Kwid...
I know of someone that bought a Kwid... She bought it for R120 000 (second hand) it was so bad, she drove it for 4 months and decided to let it go... She struggled so much to get rid of it and she finally let it go for R88 000... Please don't buy one, rather get a Suzuki S-Presso as I said Suzuki's hold their value better and won't take your whole paycheck if something breaks...
Yeah thats sad...but nice try, it wont make me stop buying this because of this stupid NCAP crap.. Why? Are you gonna crash that car? Even the porsche with a perfectly starred NCAP could kill an actor inside

@@kgopotsoskhumbuzo4291 design is Indian taste, nothing wrong with that. But for people outside India it just looks weird and ugly. Could have tweaked it a little bit to fit in different markets, the celerio appeals to many people. I think the car is too small to even try to pretend its an SUV, could have been a nice looking little hatchback.
Just read an article about this one's fuel economy and it was shocking to see on a 27L tank that does 318km and a 8.5L/100km. No thanks my little Kwid is still better than that in the fuel department
You know I don’t understand that 1 year of free insurance idea. In the US insurance is always third party (Geico, Nationwide, etc). I assume thats the same in SA for the most part? I mean I know VW Citi Golfs were stolen so much that insurance companies stopped insuring them haha, so the third party insurance idea bust be similar, but dealers are able to offer it as well? Or are they just offering to *pay* for your warranty at a basic level? Also side note: great video as always Jules! Always great to watch your videos after a hard day. Stay healthy!
in the past i've purchased a new car in the U.S. that came with a year of comprehensive insurance as well. They didn't pay for my own private insurance, it was a policy that they purchase bulk from an insurance underwriter and at the time of purchase they hand you the policy/coverage paper work. Of course it didn't offer liability coverage but i was able to get that on my own. it was definitely nice having that year of comprehensive coverage included because that meant i didn't have to worry about that portion of insurance payment for the first year so instead i put that extra money towards paying down the car loan a bit faster. Since the car manufacturer/dealer purchased the insurance plans bulk they probably got it for 1/3rd the price of what a regular consumer would have to pay. i was quite happy with the deal.
Any car is a death trap if you don't know how to drive or are unlucky. Even top of the range german car would likely kill you even when it collides with a budget car at high speed. Crash tests have deceived many to believe they are in a tank only to be killed by an avanza with 0 star rating
..its the best in class for everyday chores !!, can go more than 70 miles per gallon, does 0 to 70 mph in 12 sec, smooth refined and rock solid reliable engine , japanese tech, its only 5 feet wide which makes it cut through dense traffic and narrow streets easily, tall boy design makes getting in and out a breez as u dont have to bend much, 180 mm ground clearance makes it jump over uneven surfaces and bumps, feature loaded ( abs, ebd, 2 airbags, touch screen info, remote central locking, best in class AC, power steering, power windows etc........would u still say what u said !!???😊😊😊

Ok, the Suzuki s-presso and to begin with, I hate the looks, sorry, its too boxy for my liking and I know people will say Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but for me sorry just not my cup of tea or coffee. There's also the name S presso, kind of like saying "hey look at me i'm driving a coffee machine"🤢🤔. The interior again i'm not a fan of the placement of the mini style speedometer sorry. It may be a cheap car, but I will never buy one. There are cars that are better looking and just as practical. Don't get me wrong I do love some cars Suzuki makes but the S presso is not one of them.
