Great video. The how to use CHDMAN converter was awesome. Now I can make my own Sega CD CHD ROMs. This will so help me with the Sony and other Retro Gaming platforms.

There is a playlist program, then download the retro arch images files and rename the png file according to you game then generate playlists and thumbs will show in playlist. Or rename you game accordingly to the png image file in the retro arch thumbs. The thumbs are named according to the RetroArch’s stored database names for the Sega cd ROMs.
I just wanted to take the time to say thank you for helping me sort out my PS1 classic. I've watched several of your videos and they have helped me out no end. I wish the front end for the PS1 classic version of RetroArch auto-detected things and remembered settings and I wish running MAME games was not the largest pain in the backside ever but the rest of it is quite spectacular. I was tearing my hair out trying to get the Mega CD stuff to work but after watching this video and loading the core before searching for the games everything now works wonderfully.
Thanks for taking the time to help others out, I really appreciate it. On another note, how easy is it to emulate the 3DO on this system? Is there a tutorial around for that one by any chance?
I have been trying to get 3D0 working but the core doesn't run well at all. So right now, it's not possible :(
@@Restalgia Thanks for letting me know so quickly superstar. I'm also really struggling with MAME as it seems that each game needs to be checked between about 6 different potential cores. Am I missing something there?
@@megatronsfury8048 not really missing anything. I found I needed to jump around between the cores too. It likely has to do with the Rom sets. As soon as I figure out an easier system, I'll be sure to make a video on it. Thanks for checking out the channel by the way, I appreciate the support :)

In Night Trap, you protect the girls from being attacked by the augers by tripping the traps that are in each room. There's actually a tutorial that you can watch before the game starts.

Thanks the video, there is an updated RDB file for SEGA CD on the libretro page, it works pretty well, but there are some files that still don't get recognized.

what if the sega cd extracted files are under different formats than only shown what there is s on the video you've presented? if there is any work around for image file, ccd, sub file, and of course cue.
Im having problems getting neo geo and n64 working at all? I can press one them get a black screen then back to the games menu again. Do i need more cores? Any help would be great full

What about iso files? I have popful mail in iso and another one in bin/cue. I'll try them both as is, but I don't have Windows, so I'm not able to use that chdman program.
Also, is it ok to leave roms in zip format? I recall using RetroArch before where I was able to scan and play SNES/GBA roms that were still zipped.
How do you save games? I have used save states, but when I turn off the console and come back to it, my saves are gone. I can't find help on the subject anywhere.

I'm not sure exactly what bios files worked but at least Snatcher for Sega CD up and running!!!! Runs perfectly too! Bram Stoker's Dracula running awful. Not sure if there are certain games that work and ones that don't. Or if it's the rom itself? I have no clue? Happy having success though!
I'm sure some games dont run perfect, but maybe try a new file and see if it is just a bad dump
Thanks Restalgia. I got Sega CD games all running well but my issue with most of the games is the picture is all grainy. Is this my bios files, roms or is this just reality of how the sega cd play? I'm using CHD format found game roms.
I feel stupid but I do get my classic to recognize the sega cd column and about 7 sega cd games in it. I have never found these exact bios fios but have found very similar ones but when I go to run the games not matter what I pick to run them I can't get 1 sega cd game to work. I know he can't say where the bios files are but maybe someone can point me in the right direction. Games seem to get recognized just with unzipping file to bin as well as these steps. Nothing officially plays so far.
I have tried so many sites with all kinds of files for sega cd but still having no luck getting the game to run. I'm having issues running games from dreamcast and Saturn too so not sure if it's my roms or bios files.

I did what you said and even found chd folders and it still wont work. when I go add file or directory, the chd files don't show up. ive gotten snes and nes and sega g all to work no problem. I even have the bios files

@@Restalgia figured it out... sorry. it turns out that roms for sega cd are just hit or miss. even from the same source theres no guarantee that they will work. I just happened to grab a handful that all didn't work.
On mine the music isnt playing on pitfall
i had this the other day with wipeout 2097. your rom might have a load of abe tracks and a cue file. thats the music tracks. you can even play them in vlc. what i did to fix the issue was simply download a different rom that works. but basically the file set just isnt talking properly
All my Saturn games are ripped ccd, img & sub.. does this work with that format, cause I'm not about to have yet another ROM collection?

I put just Lunar Star the first one and yeh it loads, shows the title screen and then black screen? I havn't tried any other games yet. I'll do that to troubleshoot it I suppose. Did u or anyone get this game going?

@@Restalgia Yeh thanks for the quick reply :) I tried Spiderman after and got it going so I don't know if the Lunar rom is faulty or not so I'll dl another today and try that. Maybe because its an RPG it could be bigger I dunno but I'll let u know if the new one works! Cheers!

Hi I know this may be a little late but If anyone could help me it would very much be appreciated. I recently bought the Psone mini game enhancer USB stick with RetroArch. All the Sega CD games on Retroarch crash. Why is this and/or is there any way I can fix this? Please help me:) Thank you
I can't seem to get music on Lunar The Silver Star and Final Fight. Does anyone know why?
Mine shows the title and then after it says Lunar it goes black....and stays black. Was the first game I tried.
You need the cue file for CDDA track listings, then make a CHD like the video says.

Iso files are the only thing you are ever going to find snatcher for and there are zero cue files.
I have Snatcher with cue file.
Why? Sega CD only had like three good games on it. The rest were trash garbage.
