BRAVO Thank you for sharing and showing what skill you have on such a tough instrument to play Merry and Blessed Christmas to one and all and May 2024 be a lot better than 2023
Tuning of the bells is performed by turning on a special lathe. This is not possible in some cases, meaning that a new casting would be necessary. But this would be very expensive.
The UCR carillon was built in 1966 with 48 bells cast by Paccard. Who built the keyboard? I thought it might be Petit & Fritsen because the turnbuckles on the wires look similar.
Wow! What an instrument! And what a player, too. All those magnificent bells. Thank you, both for playing and for allowing this video to be made and shared, Mr. Christensen.

The playing console was designed by Arthur Bigelow and my understanding is that it was built to his specifications by Paccard.
Amazing!

I watched a lot of your videos and wow my congratulations for you, gretings from Mexico.
+Fernando Remington Thank you, Fernando.
If I'm a Billionaire I want one of these built for myself, or maybe for public with a fee.
I can play this song by ear on the piano
Oh, so you use your fists to play the instrument! Reminds me of a piano but with bells
It truly is amazing. Look up Cast in Bronze. He is amazing
Brody Hawkins Thanks for the suggestion. I will check him out soon.
No problem.
+Celosia Prisco-Ganaha It is called a ''carillon.''
Mj Z Yes, I know. It's a really cool instrument :)

sounds in a minor key
due to the shape of the bells, they have a very strong sound in the minor 3rd overtone!
