- Here we have the Timp Traverse in all of its rocky, windswept glory. So. Much. Wind. Unless you love kite flying, or run a wind farm I can't think of any reason you would love the wind. It's like that an annoying high school acquaintance who constantly tried to push you over, take your hat off, and yell in your ears. You would never call him to hang out, he just showed up uninvited. Just like the wind. This version of the Timp Traverse ended up being 10,400 ft of climbing and 19 miles in length. I've been getting a lot of grief from people on the total elevation gain. Everyone thinks my watch was way over. Please, if you prove my watch wrong, let me know. If you prove it right, also let me know, so I can rub in these peoples faces.

Small hint ... when you're down to 10% water ..fill it up with snow.
Really enjoy watching your videos, and what you guy's do over seas!
Wowww!! Your above and beyond!
Terrific hiking/climbing. Well done , outstanding!!
well you guys are doing awesome at it and I appreciate you guys taking the effort to share the crazy awesome journeys. the highs and the lows too.
Great videos, keep them coming its inspired me to make fastpacking videos up here in Canada.
That requires some dedication to get all those shots filming something like this solo. Love your videos!
new favorite channel :)
HaHa Just watched you and Crusty traverse that backyard mountain with snow on it. Now I know what you were talking about with the wind and the cornice... Keep being you

Wow you're a beast! I miss the 100 miles from nowhere series!
Thanks! So do I. I miss the free, all expenses paid trips to cool places but Blake and I will try our best to replicate it here.
it looks like that was on animal planit? any ideas on how to watch it? all I can find are small clips on youtube.
The legend
Awesome as always 👍🏽👣👣👣👣🏔
good call on the BeFree filter. Changed my game bigtime.
the P*I*M*P traverse. first done by Brigham Young and his Ruff Ryders.
Are you planning on doing the Little Bear to Blanca traverse?
Beautiful. Your videos are hilarious and awesome. Best commentary. Man, I would have loved to join you on this. If you're doing anything before July hits it would be fun to tag along. By the way, my wife loves the camera you sold her ;)
Ha! Thanks I'm glad it worked out. Blake and I have thought about doing a group outing locally if it ever comes to be I'll give a shout.
I'd drive up from Southern Ca with some friends to do a group thing!
How does your cap stay on? Mine NEVER stays on when it's windy! Any kind of cap like that NEVER stays on me when it's windy!
When I first commented on your channel a few hours ago, it was about doing Timp. I didn't realize that you a) already had, and that b) it was in your freaking backyard, like me. :D I love this mountain. Have you ever hiked up to the B-25 bomber crash site on it?
is Sundance cool with off season hiking? i heard they were not?
Awesome video and great job- that's a big day! Were those shots around 1:50 with the drone?
I took the mavic but due to the insane winds, flight restrictions on most of the mountain, and the most recent update which crippled my drone because I didn't download all the no-fly stuff, I was left to use it as more of a tripod. It was a really stupid thing to bring, like running with a useless rock in my bag.
Mediocre Amateur I feel ya. I have a Phantom 3 and in the case it's huge and heavy. I've carried it up 5 14,000 foot peaks and some 13ers and every time it's been too windy to fly.
Blake and I always joke about how useless the drone can be. It's usually 50/50 we'll get it up into the air without a major problem.
Haha ya. Its paid off though- some of those shots in your other videos are spectacular. I hope to someday get some like that, but I know that if I bring the drone, it will be windy lol.
Also, If your ever in Colorado, I'd love to climb some stuff with you guys. I could show you some of the coolest peaks
What do you film on? GoPro?
NOTIFICATION SQUAD
You have a Strava link to this?
No I'm not on Strava. I could round up my Garmin file from my forerunner watch if, and it's a big if, I could find my little blue tooth dongle thing.
What equipment do you use to get those Aerial shots?
I use the Mavic Pro by DJI

Hey, I need some trail beta!!! How much snow is there on the approach to the summit from the timpanooke trail head? I want to try and hike it tomorrow night, and they ski down the glacier Saturday morning. Some people online where saying that the trail from the Saddle to the summit is a little hairy due to ice/snow. It is safe yet? What's your opinion
Sorry for the late response. If you can get up to the saddle there was a small section of maybe 20 ft of snow to manage on you'r way to the summit. There is still a ton of snow in the timpanooke basin. The hardest and possibly most dangerous part of coming up timpanooke will be the section from the basin to the saddle. That being said, it also looked like there was still a lot of snow in that lower basin which could make those switch backs up to timpanooke basin kind of tricky. Might not be too hairy with some spikes and an ice axe or whippet.
