I will make another video assessing the damage to the bike and talking a bit about what caused the incident. In the meanwhile, the Tuono will be seeing all the action; it's got some big shoes to fill like the saying goes.

Hey man, atleast it was on the track and not the street. This is why we go to the track. Keep your head up my dude, you handled it well. Most riders have or will go down eventually. I know it's frustrating now but I'm sure it's a valuable lesson to you. Keep comfortable in your own realm, one lap at a time. God speed my friend.
Oh no! I did pretty much the same thing on my S1000XR last year on a favorite twisty back road, fast in a turn and leaned over so nicely, felt great about life right until grinding the peg lifted the rear wheel and low sided to the outside of the turn. Thankfully the bike didn't tumble and the crash bars did their job and it was not too badly damaged. On the rest of the ride home my thoughts were centered on, "welp, I am not Cuban Rider. I am not Cuban Rider. I need to remember that I am not Cuban Rider." It was alarming to come to the realization that my comfort level had gotten steadily higher to the point I was maxing out the ability of the bike and not really aware of how little I was leaving on the table at that speed/lean. A good ego check for myself. Sad as I am to see you go down in the same way I did, it's some consolation that we're all fallible. But still, I am not Cuban Rider. I am not Cuban Rider. I am not on a track. I am not Cuban Rider. Take it easy friend, and thank you for sharing these videos; they're definitely hard. Sadly, I didn't have footage rolling during mine. You continue to be an inspiration.
Holy smoke... so glad you're ok. God bless you brother.. The ol XR was a good companion. Always gave you everything she had. Hope to see you soon. 🙏🏻🕊 🏍
I'm glad you showed what the rider said to you during your pit stop. It's why alot of riders go down!! First time I went down is due to me following another rider who was more skilled than me in turns. It never happened again tho 💪🏾😅
So sorry! Thank Goodness you’re ok! I had a similar experience around the same period. Thankfully I caught on camera. Bikes can always be fixed or replaced. Continue to shine bro.
40 seconds. You were back on the bike and riding it within 40 seconds of the crash starting! I would have taken a few minutes to throw up/freak out/cry.......Respect! Very sorry to see this, glad that you are OK. I am confident that you'll use this as a valuable learning experience and become an EVER BETTER rider because of it. Always love your videos, keep up the great content.
Glad You are OK. Lot of people get impression from you all around the world to buy an XR. We are loving our bike and you keep us entertaint about the developement, maintenace, tipps and tricks. Wow.... VERY interested to hear CR's revelation/analysis on just what happened. He had not jumped back on the throttle yet and was actually still slowing using engine braking, so the tires would have been nicely loaded. The lean angle wasn't severe, either. Although the video did not show any dark spots on the track, I am guessing (and hoping) it was oil or antifreeze on the track. As an S1000XR Track Day rider; this one is going to keep me awake for a few nights.
Track personnel will not allow a track to go hot if there are liquids on the track. Additionally, this was just not hanging off the bike enough. To much lean angle for the speed. We all go down at some point and the learnings that come from it pay in massive dividends.
@@Proto2o feeling the need to talk like you're having a conversation with yourself or someone else while you try to ride at 10/10 for your skill level is probably not advisable either.

It seems you are fine, bike should be ok (new pegs, handlebar, screen etc and straightened forks), hopefully you end up learning something useful from the crash as well. Keep you chin up!

@cubanrider great to see, you‘re okay. VERY IMPORTANT ADVICE: In case this ever happens again, don‘t start the engine immediately afterwards. Calm down, let the personnel bring the bike back to the pits and thoroughly check for damage first! If you‘ve got a cracked cover, you can crank metal bits through your engine without knowing or whatever. Keep up the cool content!
As we all know, our rides can be repaired...so I'm glad you are ok!! Repairing the riders is much harder...been there done that 🙃 I sold my XR1k and I still miss it, best handling sport-adv bike I've owned and ridden :) Looking forward to seeing your ride all put back together, looking shiny new for another track day. Cheers!!
I’ve seen this happen a few times when a guy with Ducati multistrada tries to keep up with guys on superbikes, first thing you need to keep in mind is if the guy on the super bike has a halfway decent rider even a really good rider on the multi-Strada he’s gonna have a tough time keeping up with that thing, and sooner or later, you see the crash coming and it comes fast. Gl ad your ok sir! Lesson learned hopefully!
Spent winter 2022 getting my bike all prepped. Repaired glass, painted, vinyl wrapped, and mechanically got it running like a top....only to dump her on my first track day of the year yesterday at Summit T3 on cold tires. I know the feeling. Glad you're okay.
This is unfortunate, but the positive here is your reaction was great to tucking the front. Appears you did not tumble and stayed low. Reactions matter, even in a getoff. The machine is replaceable, so glad you’re ok!
It’s just went down, I didn’t hear the tire break loose, engine rev up before it went, it just went… you wasn’t even on the throttle hard… glad you slid and not rolled…. I know you’re good, you’re a beast, hope the suit and new boots got minimum rash!!!! Hit me up when you have an update on what you think went wrong.. no rush, I know everybody curious and asking you a bunch of questions!!! Keep beasting my friend!!!👍🏽🤙🏽🤘🏽💪🏽😎😎
That hurts to watch. I took my XR to the track for the first time just a few days ago and I was really worried about crashing. Fortunately I didn’t and it was a great day but a guy passed me in a turn and then crashed in the next right in front of me. Glad that you were able to get up and ride off the track.
So sorry you had that crash, man. It happens to the best of us. Hopefully you and the bike are ok. Same thing happened to me at Tail of the Dragon. Rode 10 hours to get there and dumped it in the wet.

In case this ever happens again, don‘t start the engine immediately afterwards. Calm down, let the personnel bring the bike back to the pits and thoroughly check for damage first! If you‘ve got a cracked cover, you can crank metal bits through your engine without knowing or whatever.
Keep up the cool content!
knee down to you for uploading this video and the angles you can achieve with such an upright bike.
As we all know, our rides can be repaired...so I'm glad you are ok!! Repairing the riders is much harder...been there done that 🙃
I sold my XR1k and I still miss it, best handling sport-adv bike I've owned and ridden :)
Looking forward to seeing your ride all put back together, looking shiny new for another track day.
Wish you the best! No big damage to the bike that's ok, easily fixable. You are ok what is more important.
Glad your Ok. Your calm is noteworthy and a mark of your character.
Glad you are okay man, that is what is important!
Love Cuban hope all works out for you Tio! Great energy from you in that group ride we went on a couple of weeks ago!
This is how it should be done. On a track where only the brave ppl that knows how to drive are racing. Not on a public road by see me, hear me maniacs. Hats of and glad both of you did semi ok :)
First off. Glad you’re ok brother. If she didn’t flip over the damage would have been far less. Please make a video of the fix so we can get a better understanding of what that entails. Stay blessed 🙏🏽
Sucks man. It happens and know the feeling all too well. At least you were not injured.
I actually gasp out loud. I am so sorry and sad for you.
man ,
i could hear the sadness in that heavy breathing ...
but good to see you up and running after the crash bro ...
Did I hear the scraping start a split second before the tires went and started low siding?
I had a near identical lowside at Willow Springs.
Bro.. salute you...Even in the intense situation you are cool bro. We know how much you love the XR. S**t happens bro. Luckily no one was tailing you. Take care brother. Hope to see you soon 🙏🙏
man, sorry to see that happen. hope you're good to get bck on track soon.
Glad youre ok!! Its a bummer that bike got scratched up but its still whole ! and can be fixed.
