Hey, thanks for your comment and sorry for the late reply. That's how it is. But I also would approach this project differently in 2024. Desert terrain is definitely on the plan. Cheers
Finally someone who makes a "how to desert theme tutorial" ... and a GOOD one too. I myself am going (in the near future) to make myself a desert table, so please let these desert theme tutorial come as a rushing river ... ;-) many thanks for showing and please keep up the good work.
I just finished my own grand canyon themed board earlier on this year, slightly redder sand stone style but as someone who did experiments to get a desired effect, this is a really good vid
Really like the overall structure of your piece. The paint on top of the sand stone and on the back slope are fantastic. Thanks for a great step by step video.
I have no experience what so ever. But I've been collecting Masters of the Universe toys with my kids and we've got such a big collection now, that we would like to make a diorama for it, for my kids and me to play on. I would love to know just how to make a diorama to have Castle Grayskull on a mountain on the left and Snake Mountain as the top of a mountain on the right. There would have to be a "water"fall of lava which creates a "river" of lava in the middle of the two mountains, with a bridge over it (that He-man and his friends have to cross of course). And both mountains should have a path to the top, and multiple plateaus on which the action figures can be posed in various battle positions. The thing is, I really need to know what to buy. But above all, it should not cost a lot of money. MOTU toys are really expensive. Haha Does anyone have any advice or me?
Thank you very much for your comment. That definitely sounds exciting. The original was mostly modelled out of clay, if I'm not mistaken. A basic foam structure with clay details would definitely be a good approach. Cheers
Mit was für einer Paste arbeitest Du? Viele andere schwören ja auf Sculptamold, aber leider sehr teuer und auch kein deutsches Produkt zwecks im baumarkt kaufen oder so... kannst sonst noch "Pasten" empfehlen?
Great video, dude! Been looking for something like this for my Gaslands table. Question: are you broadcasting out of Germany? I ask as I live there and am wondering what brand of filler you used on the Styrofoam. I don't want to use plaster, too fragile. Any suggestions?
These are great - Its a compliment, when someone says "You may as well just use real rocks". The idea is to "Make" real rocks.

Nice looking piece
Thanks Marcos!

What thickness MDF base do you use? I have to use a Jigsaw to cut mine! Always too damn thick to cut with a knife!
For smaller models like this one 3 mm is perfect. And you can still cut it with a sharp knife. Cheers
Inspired to get my ww2 desert board started but will use cork. Should double up for Gaslands. Great video

Thx Beans! I will come back to the desert terrain and make more! Cheers!
what did you use for the filler?? ive seen others use spackle or filler but its already in a paste type of texture not powder like you used
love the crisp shots
More awesome work my friend
Thanks Beer!
Great, once again. The final build looks awesome.
Thank you.
Thanks Peter! :-)
nice and simple, gonna use this on my kings of war multibases, many thanks for this :)
Thanks a lot! Cheers
How did you get the gold and brown?
What type of filler material ?
Thank you 💚
Thanks Matthew!
Nice
Great one but I am missing some red tones...
Thanks! I am working on a rock painting series! Lots of different paint schemes are coming!
Nice... do you have link for the turn table showcase your work?
Thanks Karlos! Here you go: amzn.to/2YdZ8fE It is OK but there may be better products on the market now. This looks interesting to me: amzn.to/2MheHAC
Can you link the material that you've used at 4:22? Is it just regular filler that I could get at Obi or Bauhaus?
It is just water based filler/stucco powder! Something like this: amzn.to/2AFFsFS

I like the dessert terrain! Music was a bit too loud for me..
I want to make a dessert terrain for my tau like this!
Thanks you! I am fiddling around with the music - so your comment is very helpful!

Moin! Ich nehme günstige Spachtelmasse als Pulver.
Looks good. Well done :-)
Thank you very much!
What brand of filller did you use sir?
Truly amazing. Going to make me a few for age of sigmar boards 😁👍liked
Thank you very much! Sounds like a good idea!
What's the background music?
That is Heroic Demise - linked in the description!
Where do you buy your 5mm xps foam? Awesome video btw
It is cut with a proxxon hot wire tool! But foam core can be an alternative.
Awesome!
What's the granular level you're using for the sand? Bird sand or something rougher?
Thanks! I use different grains but birds sand works fine.
What do you use as a base for the terrain? MDF?
Yes! It is 3 mm MDF. 5 mm for larger bases. Cheeers!
Nice job man 🙏, I hope to make a rock like this 😊
Great tutorial! So glad I bumped onto it! And the XPS is what 5mm thick or so?
Thank you! Yepp but you could also carve the structure out of a single bigger piece.
Hi. I come from Instagram. Love your channel and voice lol I’ll be here a while
Thanks Randy!
love the colors. Threw you a sub

Thank you! Yes that's right. I have tested several brands. The cheapest powder based without solvents does the trick.
where can i find that spinplate you work on?
It's from an airbrush set. But you can find comparable products. Search for flat pottery wheels.
what is the filler mixture?
It is spackling compound and a pinch of acrylic paint.
Is it just me, or does it look like a disguised Tau Hammerhead?
Hehe! Take a Hammerhead and flame torch to make nice & easy desert terrain!
dude... buy a cut glove, for real.
