    When I first saw one of your videos about using Crispy Rice cereal for the microworms, I tested it out and immediately switched from the oatmeal formula that I had used for many years. I can even keep the cultures inside the house now instead of my attic steps, lol.
    The difference to the olfactory senses is absolutely amazing and I have employed your method ever since. I recommend it to others constantly. Thank you so very much.

    Excellent advice on culturing these live foods.
    Do you have any video or knowledge on culturing grindal worms?

    • @DansFish
      @DansFish  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Crowntail, every time I try grindal worms, they get overrun with mites. Eventually, I just stopped trying.

    Cebebrity Fish Chef! Micro worms are probably too small for most of my fish. However the Limias might enjoy them. I lost one of my male Perugiae. No symptoms, I just found him on the tank bottom a couple mornings ago. All others are still fine. I expect fry soon as a trio of the Nigrofasciata are very plump. I added some extra plants, both floating and potted. Thanks for an informative and entertaining video Dan!

    • @DansFish

      So sorry to hear about the perugiae. I hope the remaining ones do well.

    If you don't have a culture now of vinegar eels how do you get started?

    • @DansFish
      @DansFish  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Howdy Rick,
      The best way is to find another local hobbyist who has a culture an bum a starter off of them. Baring that: www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2380057.m570.l1313.TR2.TRC1.A0.H0.Xvinegar+eels.TRS0&_nkw=vinegar+eels&_sacat=0

    What have you found the benefit to be for rice crispies over oatmeal?
    Great Video Dan !!!!

    • @DansFish
      @DansFish  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Howdy John,
      Great question! I like the rice cereal because I don't have to cook it before using it. Anytime I notice the culture needs "texture maintenance", I can just throw in some more. I guess it is the convenience that I like most.
      Best,
      Dan

    Can you feed vinegar eels or microworms to small Adult fish like neon, endler...? Thanks!

      @DansFish  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely...they love them.

  • @AquaApprentice
    @AquaApprentice 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    What is the appropriate storage method for them? Like temp wise and I know some people keep them in fridges.

    • @DansFish
      @DansFish  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Howdy Aqua,
      For vinegar eels and micro worms, you want normal room temperature or fishroom temperature. If you are comfy, these two livefoods will be too. If your fish are comfy without heaters, these two livefoods will be good at those slightly higher temps as well. The worms which need to be kept in the fridge are a different species called white worms.
      Best,
      Dan

    I probably shouldn’t be watching while I’m eating lunch. What do you do if this is your first batch and you don’t have older culture? Did I miss that part if you did say?

    • @DansFish
      @DansFish  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Same procedure for a first batch: 1 part vinegar with the "mother", 1 part water, a piece of apple (or pear!), and your starter culture.

  • @sbroekstra4237
    @sbroekstra4237 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    those pears are pears you need to put in a stew.
