The mere fact that a drop of symbiote exists in the mcu means someone can take it to either become a symbiote user, or use it to create technology. For instance a codex serum that is able to absorb the abilities of everyone who comes into contact with it. Or a symbiote based armor that uses the codex to grant the armor user different powers.

I am not well versed in the Enigma force but from my understanding it seeks out a host when the need is dire, and is mostly a "good" force. Kinda threw me off that Carnage was able to utilize it. Also, I feel like it would have quickly bonded to the Surfer before he was impaled giving him at least some chance at combating Carnage.

We had *years* for Venom and character development to go along with it. Carnage is suffering the Majin Vegeta effect, sure you can use the power, but you don't really own it.
I'm confused, how did Carnage kill Venom when it was newly spawned. In the Toxin comic, when Carnage birthed Toxin, Venom said something like "Carnage will be too weak to kill it, which will give it time to develop", which is how symbiont's survive their parent. And because they're newly spawned and are vulnerable, is why they take usually the nearest host.
Toxin's a special case, and the circumstances of Carnage just existing is already an aberration of what's normal. But yeah... Yeah... As someone who's favorite run was Donny Cates' Venom... I'm not very happy lately.
There's a few things that aren't adding up. Isn't Venom Beyond Dillan older than 616's? Codex sure looked older than that. And doesn't he still have his powers? It was only 616 Dillon's inert powers that were removed, albeit they kinda shunted that... While I like what they're doing with Carnage, it's not the same without Donny Cates at the wheel...

He is trying to take over Eddie's role as King in Black essentially. He has no host because Carnage has become truly independent, and does not want a host. Edit: Elaborating on the host bit, once Carnage got the Grendyl, he realized that having a host was kinda a liability, hence why he began taking codexes from mass graves. He's become more of a parasite than a symbiote. A perversion of what it's supposed to be.
Is the codex not pretty much just the remnant of the dna overlap from when the body held both, once the main parasite has left it’s signature is still visible over our dna, allowing it to be accessed or taken away adding that venoms powers that it has in its genes

I think we won't see Cletus until Carnie is defeated. So that Cleatus can lecture him about leaving his side. The real kicker here is what kind of astronomical power will Ed obtain to conbat this red symbiote wrecking machine. What ever Eddie's plan is, I would suggest to take Anatoly Petrov with him. 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
The only thing left for Carnage to get is the Continuity Stone from that one deadpool comic and Carnage is the single most powerful character in Marvel, hopefully the writers don't do that
The reason carnage could kill venoms, is due to his weapon. It was forged using the codex template of all black, but became a bident instead of a sword, like all black, it can heavily negate regeneration to a certain degree, in this case, venom/wolverine level healing factors. To begin with though, every time carnage (or any symbiote) bonds for a while with a person, it adds their power ontop of theirs, so over the years carnage as a base entity became immensely powerful physically.

As someone who holds the story leading to King in Black with extreme reverence, I've been pulling my hair out since the time travel was invoked.

Carnage power ups- hydro man, hell mark, venom codices(immunity to sound, electric, power cosmic from silver surfer?, enigma force, knulls base power, and king in black. I’m not sure what threat can even be posed to carnage outside of the beyonders. The enigma force will hopefully depower him for the sake of the plot. The beyonders, a cosmic cube or infinity gauntlet are required to take him out at this point.
He has an equivalent to the Muramasa Blade. Arguably Carnage just has to well... "occupy" her lungs, and she's dead. You can drown her and she won't come back. Look, I find it cheap too. Donny Cates' Venom run is my favorite comic story of them all, and I find the last few years of symbiote stories *disrespectful* to Donny Cates honestly. And while I'm here, *why is Venom Beyond Dylan so young?* Codex was older than that, and there was a timeskip.
This is a bigger issue than just one comic doing something that goes against everything we’ve come to know at this point. All marvel is doing that lately where they’re dismissing previously set in stones attributes for the sake of the MCU and just new writers who wants to make them “theirs.” I get changing personality from writer to writer but set attributes for one story feels dopey.

Storytelling in comics has become so saturated with wild changes of direction that the stories have lost meaning. It used to be that the more simplified version of these symbiotes felt meaningful when they were on page. It was a real treat. They were uber-powerful, extremely deadly, and completely alien feeling. Now? They're rubbish. They're all over the place. Everyone has a symbiote. And the value of their powers means nothing. Too many pointless changes of direction in story with zero real shock value and no gravitas is really dissappointing. All this king in black stuff, the way these stories have been told, the ridiculous powers and throwing characters around in circles aimlessly has diluted the power of both the Venom and Carnage characters in the marvel universe. There was once a story back in the 90's of Venom infiltrating Iron Man's Stark building simply to warn him not to mistreat innocents. It was a cameo. He did nothing but appear and show himself for a simple piece of dialogue. The damn feeling of it was memorable and an immense moment. What about Lethal Protector when Venom just protected homeless people from a mining machine? It was meaningful and gave the character meaning. Now? These symbiotes have wings and zig zags on their faces, turn into cats and duplicate themselves to kingdom come. There are millions of them and Venom is pretty much himself simply a trope and no longer a real character. Also how has Eddie Brock turned into an old man and Peter Parker doesn't age? They have mismanaged him. Rubbish.

@@ytsi7505 Knull is (or was...) an aspect of Oblivion. Enigma force an aspect of Eternity. There's no actual retconning there when you boil it down to that level. The Enigma Force doesn't leave a codex in you, it doesn't do any of that. King in Black was 100% faithful to it, and the only reason Eddie appears *as Venom* is because the Enigma Force asked him specifically to choose his form. There was not true retcon, it's more like a very specific example of Oblivion vs Eternity. I say this with 100% seriousness, I bet the writer just didn't understand the how the Enigma Force works. This is one of those cases where you just go with the flow Edit: I guess you could say that was the "Multiversal Eternity" version of the Engima Force... But that makes it even more insulting. The Silver Surfer put up a good scrap with Knull and he was actively dying, and had just been thrown through a black hole having to maintain his form with the Power Cosmic.
Buddy Dark Empire Palpy is like... Unscalable. Don't get me wrong, I love the idea. But to explain Dark Empire alone would require like 30 minutes of explaining Essence Transfer, Luke's fall, Anakin Solo (Might have been Ben Solo,) Hyperspace, Force Storms, The Valley of the Dark Lords, Biss; lol must I go on?
Marvel is so far gone, they make a venom story and make Venom a woman and then on top of that make her look like a man with the suit on. Characters are more confusing than their story.
If the 616 Eddie is an equal to the beyonders then this carnage still shouldn’t be able to put up a fight. I was looking forward to where the Eddie story was going but if it’s all just to fight a juiced up carnage I’m not to interested…..I was hoping he was gonna teach the beyonders a lesson for once or something but seems it’s just for him to fight carnage again.
He had a short run, the last time we saw him to my knowledge was actually when this Anti-Venom Scream was created. Flash is too powerful to put into the story. Keep in mind the dude's absolutely *busted,* he just doesn't actually do anything with his true power. I think we saw his buddy that got a piece of Sleeper more recently actually

Personally ive never liked the Venom etc. symbiotes. I dont know why exactly, just fail to see them as a good villain or hero, either way. Its just some lazy writing.
And that is why you don't introduce time travel. No matter how much praise an author gets from their prior work, invoking time travel is how you screw things up.

Look, I find it cheap too. Donny Cates' Venom run is my favorite comic story of them all, and I find the last few years of symbiote stories *disrespectful* to Donny Cates honestly.
And while I'm here, *why is Venom Beyond Dylan so young?* Codex was older than that, and there was a timeskip.
This is a bigger issue than just one comic doing something that goes against everything we’ve come to know at this point. All marvel is doing that lately where they’re dismissing previously set in stones attributes for the sake of the MCU and just new writers who wants to make them “theirs.” I get changing personality from writer to writer but set attributes for one story feels dopey.
Just form a multiversal team of Darwins. Literally no other team would be needed for ultra cosmic murder gods.

Storytelling in comics has become so saturated with wild changes of direction that the stories have lost meaning. It used to be that the more simplified version of these symbiotes felt meaningful when they were on page. It was a real treat. They were uber-powerful, extremely deadly, and completely alien feeling. Now? They're rubbish. They're all over the place. Everyone has a symbiote. And the value of their powers means nothing. Too many pointless changes of direction in story with zero real shock value and no gravitas is really dissappointing. All this king in black stuff, the way these stories have been told, the ridiculous powers and throwing characters around in circles aimlessly has diluted the power of both the Venom and Carnage characters in the marvel universe. There was once a story back in the 90's of Venom infiltrating Iron Man's Stark building simply to warn him not to mistreat innocents. It was a cameo. He did nothing but appear and show himself for a simple piece of dialogue. The damn feeling of it was memorable and an immense moment. What about Lethal Protector when Venom just protected homeless people from a mining machine? It was meaningful and gave the character meaning. Now? These symbiotes have wings and zig zags on their faces, turn into cats and duplicate themselves to kingdom come. There are millions of them and Venom is pretty much himself simply a trope and no longer a real character. Also how has Eddie Brock turned into an old man and Peter Parker doesn't age? They have mismanaged him. Rubbish.

@@ytsi7505 Knull is (or was...) an aspect of Oblivion. Enigma force an aspect of Eternity. There's no actual retconning there when you boil it down to that level. The Enigma Force doesn't leave a codex in you, it doesn't do any of that. King in Black was 100% faithful to it, and the only reason Eddie appears *as Venom* is because the Enigma Force asked him specifically to choose his form.
There was not true retcon, it's more like a very specific example of Oblivion vs Eternity.
I say this with 100% seriousness, I bet the writer just didn't understand the how the Enigma Force works. This is one of those cases where you just go with the flow
Edit: I guess you could say that was the "Multiversal Eternity" version of the Engima Force... But that makes it even more insulting. The Silver Surfer put up a good scrap with Knull and he was actively dying, and had just been thrown through a black hole having to maintain his form with the Power Cosmic.

Buddy Dark Empire Palpy is like... Unscalable. Don't get me wrong, I love the idea. But to explain Dark Empire alone would require like 30 minutes of explaining Essence Transfer, Luke's fall, Anakin Solo (Might have been Ben Solo,) Hyperspace, Force Storms, The Valley of the Dark Lords, Biss; lol must I go on?

Marvel is so far gone, they make a venom story and make Venom a woman and then on top of that make her look like a man with the suit on. Characters are more confusing than their story.
If the 616 Eddie is an equal to the beyonders then this carnage still shouldn’t be able to put up a fight. I was looking forward to where the Eddie story was going but if it’s all just to fight a juiced up carnage I’m not to interested…..I was hoping he was gonna teach the beyonders a lesson for once or something but seems it’s just for him to fight carnage again.

He had a short run, the last time we saw him to my knowledge was actually when this Anti-Venom Scream was created.
Flash is too powerful to put into the story. Keep in mind the dude's absolutely *busted,* he just doesn't actually do anything with his true power. I think we saw his buddy that got a piece of Sleeper more recently actually

Personally ive never liked the Venom etc. symbiotes. I dont know why exactly, just fail to see them as a good villain or hero, either way. Its just some lazy writing.
