- Do you ever feel like The sims 4 gets a bit boring and stale sometimes? Why not spice things up with some interesting storylines!
In today’s video, we are going to be going through 10 storyline ideas that you can try in The Sims 4!
Most of these storylines can be enhanced with mods but don’t require them. I mentioned the basemental drugs mod and the rambunctious religion mod in these storylines, unfortunately, I cannot link the basemental site because the last time I did that I got a strike on my channel so I’m just linking the religion one!

Just a random Realm of Magic Storyline I’ve come up with:
You start out as a single spell caster, who loves magic and was one of the best students at the magic academy to ever exist. One day, your sent on a mission to go into the human realm and you end up running into a very hot stranger. you both begin flirting with each other and you occasionally run away from the magic realm and glimmer brook to meet up with this attractive human. Soon enough, you end up dating the stranger in secret, because if the academy ever found out you were dating a human, you’d be banished in an instant. One night, you end up getting a little to flirtatious, and end up (getting pregnant/getting your partner pregnant) and you instantly freak out when you discover this. of course, everyone notices, and you end up getting in serious trouble, and get expelled from the academy, and banned from the magic realm. In an upset panic, you show up at your partners doorstep begging them to let you move in, which they graciously do so. after having your baby, you decide that never letting your partner or child know of your magical past is best, and hide all of your magical belongings in a hidden compartment of your home. a few years later, your son/daughter/nonbinary child comes across all of your previous belongings while searching for an item for school. they touch your magical crystal and end up in the magic realm, discovering that they didn’t bring the crystal, and all the magical portals mysteriously shut down years ago, and they now must find a way out of the magic realm.

I have a family that is close-knit, they know each other's secrets, nothing is off-topic or taboo except the dad thinks the mom is a politician when she really is the local gang leader and drug dealer with a secret pot farm in the basement and one of their sons has magical powers but only his twin knows
I played as an irresponsible, emo, punk, bad boy teen named Damon whose mother was a spellcaster but died when he was a baby. He was raised by his father who was a law abiding police officer. Damon joined a group of misfits and got into all sorts of trouble. One summer, he found his mother's magic crystal and was whisked away to the Magic Realm. The Sages helped him unlock his powers and trained him in the art of spellcasting. When he went back home, he had a huge argument with his father which lead him to burn him to death with magic. Damon fled to Glimmerbrook and is now living in a small house that is haunted because his mother put a curse on it from the afterlife.
One storyline I've been doing lately is one I call the lady Mafia legacy. Start with a female sim and make her reach the top of the criminal career. The jist is, she needs to have a few enemies and a female heir. By the time she is an elder and about to kick the bucket her heir has to have reached the top of the career as well. Hard mode if you play this on short lifespan and do it as rags to riches too.
I pretty much always play childhood sweethearts, so, for me, a sim meeting their spouse in young adulthood is pretty much a foreign concept for me past the first generation.
Just watched a video today about a mod that allows arranged marriages! Just a heads up in case you weren’t aware 😁 (I don’t remember the creator though)

The Style Influencer is still one of my favorite career paths I've done in the game, it's pretty fun to see sims wearing my designs.
however, I really need to go make another influencer because townies are still wearing her looks and it's been literal IRL years since she passed on. I think I like your storyline, I think I'll try that one out.

I still think an epic storyline would be to use basemental gangs and lumpino’s religions and cult mod and have tensions and relationships build to a boiling point to an all out religious war between the factions

I've added on the same idea with others, setting up a second hand shop with landfill lot type. To repair and re-sell junk. Then transmute to higher value items..... But also need the clepto trait to own items.

Yup, flower arranging is suuuper OP - James Turner’s recent video showed that flower arranging (and marrying Santa) can net you a million simoleans in like 4 days, if you grind (and use micro home magic powers). :)

Ive been having to play on console lately and its been so hard not having any fun mods like basemental drugs and extreme violence. I have to use the bubble blower from city living and kill people the old fashioned way, a fenced off pool

My new favorite way of playing the game is nuking all the meme townies and populating everything with randos. You do have to use some households from the gallery because most randos are single. But it's a whole new game when you don't have Pancakes and Landgraabs wandering about.
Once I made a nephew and his not biological aunt fall in love and have 3 kids 💀

Not exactly the same but I also had a devil child that I took in and her nickname was Jess… she was a teenager and she did some pretty terrible shit (she had a good life with us and her mom wasn’t complete trash either, just not completely the best)! She did shit like sneaking out the back door when she knew I was terrified of people breathing in the back door due to PTSD (back door was right next to my bedroom window, the sweetheart), she threatened my VERY young daughter about the sneaking out because she knew about it, she still money and, allegedly, medications, from my former best friend… just a lot of crap! She never tried to take anyone out as far as I know though lol

what about a hero x villain romance/ enemies to lovers playthrough with mods. with one sim that is a villain cultist that loves drugs, parties, pranks and punishing people who do bad things, even if they cross the line and murder them. while the Hero could be a devout religious goodie tooshoose who finds themselves at odds with the villain but slowly their relationship evolves as they grow a mutual understanding an respect for one another and eventually fall in love... or die as as star-crossed lovers... whichever you choose

Here's some Sims 4 story ideas I play with/without mods
1. Corrupted Cop or Delusional Cop. Basically be an evil cop who revels in power or a cop with good intentions but terrible action. Dexter type basically.
2. Science for the Monarchy. Need the Royalty mod and Sacrificial's mods. Make a scientist sim, have him/her reach the top and have another sim (relative or spouse) be in the politics career. The scientist can help their relative reach power through mind control while the politician sim does whatever corrupted politicians do to reach leadership. This could also work if you want the scientist to rule.
3. Cursed Family. I get bored of sims living healthy and safe lives but I also don't want to cheat a death for no reason. I have a sim woo the Grim Reaper. They make a child, the child grows to be an evil fucker and probably is the luckiest sim ever. I say luckiest because every descendant after the hybrid has to die horribly. Has to be one or two members of every generation born from the hybrid. The curse exists because of the unholy union between Grim and a sim. Grim isn't suppose to bang a sim and now has to pay for it by becoming a normal sim, but with immortality on only for him and his child, and watching as each family member falls on terrible luck and dies. Morbid.
4. Child Support: A sim who makes her money from making babies. This sim shouldn't be a good mom. What mom is good anyway if she's just using her kid for child support? She also should be a total Karen, always hounding her children's fathers and anyone else who meets her gaze.
