    Sizes of the two main compartments (Height x Width x Depth):
    Camera Compartment: 11 x 11 x 6 inches, 28 x 28 x 15 cm (11.8 liters)
    Upper Section: 7 x 9 x 5 inches, 18 x 23 x 13 cm (5.4 liters)
    If there's anything else you'd like a measurement of let me know and I'll add it!

    I have the BP 450. Went for a larger size to get more room for outdoor gear (the camera compartment is bigger too). IMO the Flipside Trek series is excellent value for money. They sacrifice build quality and carry comfort compared to many high end bags, but they are a lot cheaper and good enough in many ways.

      I agree, it's great value for money. It's hard for a lot of people to justify spending $300+ on a camera bag, but something like this gets you the features you need.

    This thing is great! I currently have my regular hiking backpack with an insert cube for my camera gear and my other stuff just either above or under that. But obviously one blocks the other making me need to constantly take everything out wich gets annoying really fast. This basically is my current backpack with separate access for my camera stuff, wich is brilliant. Thanks for the review, I will definitely get one (probably used, they are like 50€ used where i liver, so that is a great deal).

    Muy buena reseña. Lo que me preocupa es el tamaño pues no me gustan las mochilas grandes. Sucede que la Lowwepro AW250 tiene muy poca capacidad para mi cámara de formato completo D810 y varios lentes. Solo unas pocas cosas te quiero preguntar: La sientes muy grande cuando la tienes colocada? Crees que esta mochila estaría dentro de las de rango medianas?, Estas conforme con el tamaño? te acostumbras al uso del cinturón considerando que no se puede quitar, por lo que si no lo usas es bastante grande lo que colgaría?. Desde ya muchas gracias. Felicitaciones por tu video y saludos desde Argentina.

    I (husband part of the duo) would actually like to use its flip-sidedness for accessing my camera gear while on the go, never putting the bag down on the ground.

    • @EmmettBudd
      @EmmettBudd  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wasn't sure if I'd like it or not, but I've started doing that a lot, for times like my last photoshoot where I ended up standing in some deep mud. I do have to readjust the straps and my clothes a bit when I put the bag back, but it actually works a lot better than I expected.

    Nice review Emmett. I'm about 90% sold on buying this backpack, but just a tad concerned about it's capability for lugging a fairly weighty tripod. I prefer my tripod to be strapped on the *side* and not the front. Your thoughts please. Thanks and ATB from the UK 👍

    • @EmmettBudd
      @EmmettBudd  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry for the long delay in replying, I've been in the process of moving. I have not really found a way that I feel comfortable attaching a heavy tripod to this bag so I typically carry it separately. I will put a light tripod on the front and it could go on the side as well (I just usually have things in the side pockets), but the attachment straps don't seem to me to be designed for a lot of weight. Someone at LowePro could probably give a better answer on their capacity, but personally I avoid putting a lot of strain on them because I'm concerned about wearing them out over time.

    I need an urban bag - probably messenger style. Got any suggestions? I have a Manfrotto one, pretty much perfect but I’ve worn it to shreds

    • @EmmettBudd
      @EmmettBudd  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      To be honest, I don’t tend to use messenger bags because they start to hurt my back after a few minutes, so I don’t really have any good suggestions for you there. I like the look of Peak Design’s bags, but they can be quite expensive. Lowepro has several more urban options which are a bit cheaper, and I currently have their Flipside Trek and Urbex 28L that are both very high quality. But I’m afraid I don’t have anything specific to suggest.

    Would you recommend this or the smaller 250 for mountainbike riding while storing a Sony a6000 + sigma 16mm + sigma 56mm + DJI mini 2 drone + controller?

    • @EmmettBudd
      @EmmettBudd  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks so much!
      I think I would recommend this one over the 250. I'm not exactly sure on sizes but the camera compartment of the 250 is advertised as being for a mirrorless camera and two lenses, and the top section of it is also smaller. Since your lenses and the DJI mini are small you might be able to make it work but it wouldn't leave much room for your gear to grow or for snacks or clothing layers if you take anything like that with you. Also the 250 doesn't have the padded waist belt, just a thin waist strap, so I imagine this 350 would sit more securely on your back when riding even though it's bigger.
      TLDR; I'd go for the bigger 350, but I'm not a mountain biker, so if you're concerned about keeping it small you probably could squeeze everything into the 250.

    The space to carry the non-camera stuff is precisely what I am after and I can't find anything. I love the fact that I can get to the camera without taking the bag off but where do I put my clothes?

    • @EmmettBudd
      @EmmettBudd  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I completely relate to this. Most camera bags are 100% camera space, and like I'm still a human that needs a water and a snack and a jacket, am I just supposed to carry two bags? The Flipside Trek has about the perfect amount of room for a day out for me, but I'm still exploring options for longer hikes or weekend travel.

    • @EmmettBudd

      I have not, no. Those do look like they have a lot of storage, they kind of remind me of the camera inserts that you can use to convert part of a bag into a camera space.

    Cool bag. I wonder if it'll fit a 13 inch Mac Book Pro

    • @EmmettBudd
      @EmmettBudd  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately not, no. The front pocket of the bag is just barely wide enough for a small tablet, since it's wider at the back than the front. My 11 inch iPad Pro nearly fills the tablet sleeve in the front, while my 13 inch MacBook Pro can't even fit in the pocket.

    Thanks for the video! Do you think a Sigma 150-600mm would fit together with a Canon camera and an extra 55mm lens ?

    • @EmmettBudd
      @EmmettBudd  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think that should fit. The 150-600mm would probably take the length of one side of the bag and then the camera body and 55mm lens could go on the other side.

    is the top compartment of camera side be moved up or down to change the size of the camera area vs the other area?

    • @EmmettBudd
      @EmmettBudd  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Unfortunately not, it has velcro on three sides but is sewn on the front, allowing it to be unvelcroed and folded down to combine the two areas, but not to be moved to adjust their sizes.

    Would it fit a dji 2 pro and sony a7rii with 24-105 f4 lens? I'm deciding between this one and the lowepro photo sport 300.. I need it for hiking in the mountains.

    • @EmmettBudd
      @EmmettBudd  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I think it should! I've got my camera, four small lenses, and some filters in the camera compartment, so you should easily be able to put the camera and lens down one side and the collapsed DJI down the other. I've used this on several short hikes now and it's been great! I also considered the Photo Sport, I mostly picked this one for the second elastic side pocket, but they're both great options in my opinion.

      @nomadinneverland6832 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@EmmettBudd Hey! thanks for your reaction. Did you see the photo sport in a store or just online? Is the camera compartment of the sport as big as the trek? I don't really find a store here in Belgium that have any of them so it's hard to choose.

    • @EmmettBudd
      @EmmettBudd  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’ve just seen it online also, unfortunately, I don’t know of a store near me to look at them either. It looks like the camera compartment of the photo sport is slightly smaller, it’s advertised as holding one less lens. The side access to it might also make it a bit harder to make full use of the space than the trek where you can open the whole back so things aren’t stacked in. But I haven’t actually had the opportunity to try it.

    • @EmmettBudd
      @EmmettBudd  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you like that lens? It sounds pretty sweet. Looking on B&H, they say the lens is 11.43 in (29 cm) long, in which case I think it would be just a bit too large for the 350 model of the bag that I have in terms of length, unfortunately. You might try looking at the larger 450, though.

    Will this bag fit the Nikon z 70-200/2.8?

    • @EmmettBudd
      @EmmettBudd  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it should! The camera compartment is roughly a 10 inch square and 6 inches deep, and the spec sheet says that lens is nearly 9 inches long, so I don't think it will fit on the body, but there's plenty of room to put them in side by side.
