I think capcom might’ve genuinely cooked too hard with this monster (and it’s ost) because now I refuse to believe any other monster in wilds besides the final boss or maybe an elder, will surpass the perfect pile of peak design that is Rey Dau.

Strange thing about wilds is that they seem to be pushing the main motif of the title theme WAY more than stars at our backs was in worlds it seems to return multiple times in each soundtrack so far
Absolutely love how POWERFUL this theme is, showing you as a Hunter are going up against what’s basically the Top Dog predator of this particular locale. It’s dangerous, majestic, and works BEAUTIFULLY with the atmosphere of the hunt itself. Absolutely adore this guy, his design, his theme and ESPECIALLY his fight!
I think the fight could be better because although I really like him I don’t quite like how much he spams his wing attacks even if they are really cool I wish he would add some variety

Dau could have easily been the flagship, he's got flagship energy with how good his fight and design is, and he's only the Apex of the first area. I can't even imagine what the HR final boss is going to be like, or G-Rank's. Tl;dr: Peak. It's all over my screen.
Our boy Diablos don't got good lightning resistance, so I would honestly give the edge to Rey here. At the same time Rey doesn't seem t h a t speedy so Diablos could probably land a hit before getting blown the fuck up.
@@gabrielamartinezmendez6354 yeah I agree, especially after fighting like a dozen Reys. Every time it gets in a fight with another monster it is SUPER smart about it. They instantly use their flight advantage and just rain down hell upon whatever felt suicidal enough to challenge it.
Might just be the hype talking but Rey Dau is already one of capcoms greatest flying wyvern fights. The fight the music the design of the monster and moveset and hit boxes are all perfect

It’s so epic so energetic so heroic and powerful! Perfectly befitting a monster that’s in its element and it knows it and acts accordingly toward a disadvantaged hunter.
1:40 that's the part. The part from the trailer when I knew that was the Rey Dau Theme, one of the best OST for the moment but I expect always better like the Safi/Fatalis and more in World/Iceborne with Lyrics
After he nukes his head leaves wounds you can use wounds right after also mounts net you more wounds very reasily so mounts can be used for wounding not just downing.

Counter offer what I will do is I will record the audio for the music track with the bgm at 100% and audio mix set for headphones. Get plenty of b roll with different weapons fighting rey dau, and set up a 30 minute loop of this ost and possibly the other ones too

Can you upload the battle themes for Small Monsters, the Mount and Chase versions for: Chatacabra, Balahara / Doshaguma, the theme for fighting atleast 2 Large Monsters, and Rey Dau? For clarification, most large monsters in World had extra themes when you mount them, and a chase theme when they would leave to a different zone, and there was also something called reverse chase themes where they would play if you were far enough away from an enraged monster that was chasing you, but I'm unsure if this is in wilds
Tried the BETA today, decided to switch to SnS from LS. It was wack, but in a good way. Did NOT fight Rey Dau tho, I get scared around tough looking monsters. But railgun bird was epic to look at.
I really wanted to compare riths arrangement too and im so glad other people are smart enough to turn off audio and record the music to just enjoy its just too good
I respectfully disagree rith version although good it sounds to calm and doesn't have enough oomf for rey dau the in-game sounds far more dangerous and to me it almost sounds like rey dau himself is telling you the hunter he's the apex of the windward plains and you will learn why especially at 0:34 that part and the build up to it to me sounds like it's almost excited like Rey dau himself is having fun at least to me anyway would like add more but I don't want to make this any longer than it already any that's just my personal opinion

Diablos would lose to Rey Dau. The former can only charge, dig and burst out while the latter can just fly high and shoot thunder from its horns.
