Definitely an attempt to portray Trump as a spiritual leader, godlike, with a mighty righteousness. Lastly, the choice of music...no patriotic march, no swelling strings to convey peace and bonding among Americans. It's an edgy, aggressive & forceful rock song which, in it's original version, targeted males and their frustrations with lyrics such as "it doesn't even matter how hard you try" and "in the end it doesn't even matter." Trump's spin doctors emphasizing the idea of the stolen election and targeting that frustration to turn it into violent retribution. Thank you for showing this video. Never saw it before.

It’s important to take action now, whether supporting voter registration, opposing gerrymandering, supporting standards for social media and opposing propaganda.
Democracy requires an advanced level of citizenship in order to work because we have to elect the right people to office. It looks like we just don't have that. Progressives, Justice Democrats, and the squad give me some hope, but it might be too little too late. We really need the younger generations to get involved in politics and voting once they turn 18 -- the younglings seem to have a better bullshit meter than boomers.

This is the third time I watch this interview and it is more chilling each time. The band, Tommee Profitt, that are performing the cover used by the campaign also expressed their disapproval.

Lastly, the choice of music...no patriotic march, no swelling strings to convey peace and bonding among Americans. It's an edgy, aggressive & forceful rock song which, in it's original version, targeted males and their frustrations with lyrics such as "it doesn't even matter how hard you try" and "in the end it doesn't even matter." Trump's spin doctors emphasizing the idea of the stolen election and targeting that frustration to turn it into violent retribution. Thank you for showing this video. Never saw it before.

This is the third time I watch this interview and it is more chilling each time. Maybe because I'm 73, left Cuba in '61 after witnessing the fall of democracy at age twelve and everything that preceded it from age nine; maybe because I've read 1984 as many times with the same effect; maybe because I've also lived, and worked, and burrowed into the cultures of different countries where I've lived out my exile's live. Though many who were at the rally/insurrection may not be aware of the subtleties in the video, some of the images are stark enough to make the point that Stanley promotes. Scary? You bet.

Except that the vast majority of insurrectionists were fairly well educated. Nazi Germany also was made up of an uncommonly well educated population for the time. Formal education is not the answer because it can be biased by those in power. Critical thinking is the key & can be taught in the home, community, anywhere.
