The significance of the V2 system cannot be overstated. The .460 Rowland conversion gave the 1911 new purpose in a world of average power calibers in ever shrinking, lightweight pistols. The first time I touched off the .460 Rowland it was obvious it was vastly superior to the 6-shot .44 magnum in terms of ergonomics and lower felt recoil. One can easily shoot 50 rounds of Rowland without even realizing that each round is pushing 1,000 foot-pounds of energy because the compensator reduces slide energy to approximately that of a .45 ACP shooting ball ammo. Magnum and near-magnum semi auto pistol conversions can easily turn into a battel of chasing spring rates - recoil spring, main spring, magazine spring, leaving owners feeling the concept is great, but still lacks adequate execution. Now comes the V2 recoil reducer that that eliminates the heavy recoil springs, or even flat bottom firing pin retainer because it performs the entire function of slowing and stopping the slide so efficiently, the gun is working in its original "timing" while softening recoil impulse even more! After comp has done its part, the remaining slide energy is dissipated by the V2 pneumatic "motor," so the "reaction spring" now only has to do the job of chambering, which needs reduces battering to the gun, but also makes the 1911 a true magnum powerhouse that even someone with limited hand strength can handle.
What gun would you reccomend for a base model for 460 Rowland upgrade? I keep hearing about fn pistols breaking under the power of the 460 Rowland. Thanks.
In my FNX-45, I found it perfectly reliable compared to my 6" Tanfoglio Hunter 10mm. And that's with my hand loads! The Tanfo works now because of increased Wolff springs I changed out. So now I have 2 bear gun chest rigs. The ONLY malfunction I have had in my Rowland is with a hand load (one single bullet) I had set to 1.27" but I think 1.26" fixed it. And I am talking without cleaning the gun in several mags.

.460 Rowland is Beast
Would love to see this in action.
Would it be possible to make the recoil reduction system for the Fnx? Or other models perhaps?

Awesome
What is the purpose of this round? Hunting protection?
Bears and terminators
Yes, all of the above!
