I know this video is 3 years old, Glocks have those new Compensators that are just beautiful and they have a steel guide rod, its a pretty heavy set up, so ill just shop around for a nice .460 Rowland threaded barrel and do the rest myself. Stiff magazine springs are a must!!
The mighty .460 Rowland hahaha I love it! Man I really love my 10mm, but man I had to go out and get me a Glock 30 SF I have smaller hands and 10+1 is plenty!!!
I am destined to own the .460 Rowland, for two reasons, 46 is my favorite number ( I know, but it's close enough ), and most importantly, my last name is ROWLAND, at the very least, I have to get me one of those shirts..
Hello Gavin. The Blue Thread Locker used in this video allows the compensator to be removed if gentle heat is applied. It's not really a glue and is definitely not permanent. Our current version of this conversion uses two set screws rather than one. The set screws rest on two machined flats in the threads, securing them in place with out damaging the barrel's threads. With this new configuration you no longer have to apply the Blue Thread Locker to the main thread of the barrel, just on the set screw threads. At this point, with two set screws, the blue thread locker is optional. But we still recommend using it.
@@GavinNic Both conversions are reliable and powerful. Though, the Glock 21 is going to be less likely to need specific tuning. Because you can only get a Glock21 from Glock, they are more predictable (for the sake of this conversation I'm ignoring P80 builds lol). There are hundreds of 1911's from several manufacturers, each one is a little different. We make our 1911 kits to be as drop-in-ready as possible, and they usually do drop in just fine! Just saying, if one is more likely to need a little more work to get running, it's going to be the 1911.
Does the set screw put pressure on the threads? I plan on getting a conversion soon but also plan to run a surpressor from time to time , and want to make sure I dont damage the threads with the set screw.
Our new barrels have 2 machined flat spots on the threads and our compensators have 2 set screws. The set screws rest on the flat spots as to not damage the threads.
Couple of questions. I’ve yet to see a video of the .460R conversion for the GEN 4 Glock 21 with the dual recoil spring & guide rod assembly. Why not? 2nd, I’ve replaced my plastic rod & spring assembly with the stainless steel one. Would I still need a stronger spring assembly for the conversion?
First, do NOT cycle 460 Rowland with out a compensator and proper recoil assembly. Our new barrels have 2 machined flat spots on the threads and our compensators have 2 set screws. The set screws rest on the flat spots as to not damage the threads. With this set up you can easily disassemble/reassemble. With our conversion kits you can cycle both 45acp and 460 Rowland. So, yes! you can use a thread protector and stock recoil when cycling 45 ACP if you want but it's not necessary. Never cycle 460 Rowland with out a compensator and proper recoil assembly.
@@460RowlandGood advice the breaks really do an amazing job at calming the recoil, my 8 year old son can shoot my .300 win mag no problem because I have a really nice break on my Christensen MPR
The case height increase does not negatively effect reliability or accuracy when cycling .45ACP or 460 Rowland. Not only does it allow us to give our 460 Rowland cartridges more power, It's also a safety feature so you don't accidentally chamber a 460 cartridge in an unconverted gun. The results of which would be... exciting. You should take some time to research our product or even reach out to us via email. well I already own a 10mm Glock long slide and it doesn’t kick enough for me… guess it’s time to convert the G41 to 460 Rowland… 😂
That's the course of action we would suggest!
For California do you have to send in the slide can you just send the conversion kit?
How do you clean the gun if you glue the compensator on. dont you need to take it off to take the barrel out?

Yes you'd need a stiffer .460 specific recoil spring. It's a lot stiffer.
Does it use factor g21 mags ?
yup!
Why don't you want the compensator touching the slide?
So that it doesn't damage your slide or interrupt cycling

Would have bought if not for the dumb 1/16” case height increase that makes the gun unreliable just to sell specific conversion kits.
