Volcanoes in Saudi Arabia? A surprising destination! - Saudi Arabia Ep.1

  • We start our overland roadtrip in the north of Saudi Arabia, entering from Kuwait. It starts with endless flat roads but soon gets more interesting:
    - First sand dunes in Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Nature Reserve
    - Hail province with the impressive Al Hatima Crater, the lush Tuwarin oasis and more sanddunes and rock formations in King Salman bin Abdulaziz Royal Natural Reserve.
    - Driving from Hail to Alula
Tourism is still relatively new in Saudi Arabia. Some places along the way don't even have a name on Google, or at least not in the Latin alphabet. It's a fantastic country for a roadtrip with camping though. Distances are huge, but the drives are beautiful and entertaining.
Follow our overland adventure and see how me make new friends along the way. We see our first camels, are welcomed by the friendly Saudi and team up to go camping with a group from Riyadh.
At the time being Saudi Arabia is still an overlanders paradise: it's easy to find beautiful offroad tracks and quiet spots for camping. Our first week here and we are already sold! Are you with us?

Ben Yaman and Mrs. Celine are wonderful people. I enjoyed your company despite the difficulty of communicating due to my weak language. Greetings to you, your friend Sari. ❤️

Dear Sari, it was a real pleasure to meet you. No worries about your English, we also don't speak Arabic 😉. We managed to find a common language: humor! Wishing you all the best.

That is phenomenal scenery - a good example of how much is out there that most of us don't even know about!

Agree! Just missing some hiking trails, but then again, you can just hike anywhere if you wish 😆

Bravi! Absolutely stunning and well narrated/shot. Does your troopy have a name? Keep inspiring, drive safe and be well xx best

Wow, thanks a lot for your message! Yes, our Troopy is called Tony, like it's previous owner. A man who prepared the car for 2 years but then, during a test weekend, his wife thought it was too small so the car had to go. We're making sure Tony can still travel 😆

@@seenbyceline Cant wait to watch the rest of your tour all the way down to South Africa! Very excited by the footage thus far, you are living the life! Please make longer episodes, add some cultural nuances, food, etc for the rest - you are doing a stunning job! Guess it’s going to be Xmas for Tony when you get to Dubai/Bahrain (troopy desert/expedition upgrades), though looking forward to Oman if you head that way on your Dakar trip. Bon Chance and Bon Voyage! Xx best

Céline and Benji, welcome to my country
I am thinking of writing a book about tourism in Saudi Arabia. What are the things that you think are important and required for European tourists to enjoy Saudi Arabia and what interests them in tourism, culture, entertainment, etc.?

    • @seenbyceline
      @seenbyceline  28 วันที่ผ่านมา

What's your book about? Destinations to visit? If it's a guidebook, you will have to include what to do, how to visit, where to stay, cosy delicious restaurants to try out, local customs and culture, ... There's no 1 European traveler: some will like to know all about the history and politics while others will be looking for hiking or cycling trails and be active.

@@seenbyceline I think it will be the best tourist guide to understand everything and benefit all kinds of people who are passionate about traveling and learning everything about Saudi Arabia
