I've been doing staff since yellow belt 30 years ago but stopped these last 5 years or so. Watching you has made me Start again plus my three section staff.
Hello, Excellent training. Please advise on the number of hours training per day that you recommend considering the Basic , Intermediate and Advance Level. Thanks a lot for sharing
When doing the figure 8 spins at the beginning (warm up).... are you supposed to maintain a tight grip on the staff? My wrists don't seem to be flexible enough to allow me to do that when I go palm up. Palm down I'm good to go, but when I change directions and go palm up I have to release my grip on the staff a bit to get it to "flow" right.
@@pasquinilli i was doing really good but when i go fast its like my staff goes weightless and resisting my moves and doing as it likes any views to what this may be!
It may just be too heavy right now. Slow down a bit for a few workouts. Add wrist strengthening moves (I will make you a video) then speed back up! Keep training!

I have always wanted to learn to manipulate a bo staff and your teachings are simple and awesome thank you very much.😊🙏
Been watching your videos for awhile,It's the most helpful on mastering the rudimentary element's of the Bo Staff
Great vids. I am a shorinji kempo practitioner and I'm trying to follow on with your lessons with my own bo staff.
Coolest thumbnail of all time. Moves so fast and so smooth you break the 7th dimension
Haha. I just saw that! Thanks!
I'm following your lessons using a hiking pole. Your teaching is so clear and I like your life philosophy Matt.
Thank you Terry!
Life philosophy. 👍. 😊.
Electrical tape makes for great grip-tape. It's great to grip and hold onto. I recommend using it.
Love u sensei Matt🙏
nice sir
Thank you!
Hey, what's the difference between the reverse and forward figure 8? Aren't they essentially the same...?
The same but moving in opposite directions. The forward spin leads with the thumb and the reverse leads with the pinkie.
@@pasquinilli Thanks! :)

Do what you can. If you only have five minutes, start there. If you can carve out an hour, that is great too! But just don't wait to start.
Awsome
Thank you Johny! How is everything with you?
@@pasquinilli im fine training is going amazing ive leaned a lot from you amazing is all i can say but strange things are happening really

Closed and relaxed at the same time. Flexibility will improve over time too. Great question thanks. Keep training!
