A little late to the Naga Trinity party, but I just got mine and found an even better solution (for my preferences anyway). If you press the spring (metallic, hook shaped) under the bar down and left it releases the bar and scrolling is butter smooth. The wheel itself has some friction, so even if you flick it up or down it stops after like 3-5 scrolls, unlike a free-spinning-wheel. This procedure is unfortunately irreversible(or at least super tricky) without taking the mouse apart, so try the lubrication workaround first if you want to maintain clear single scrolls.

This did the opposite of me. It completely ruined my ability to scroll. Makes it way more 'stiff' and jarring, since apparently the feedback bar is being kept from pressing harshly against the wheel by the hook itself.. But I managed to get the hook back on easily enough.

@@Error-ke1tf Well Im gonna try it. If it ruins the mouse Im fine with that. Then I'll just do a better job reading up on the next mouse. EDIT: hey it worked! Super smooth now without loss of function as far as I can tell. Thanks yall!

Did the trick for me as well! Just bought this mouse yesterday, love the idea of swapping left button panels, but the wheel felt like part of some cheap toy tractor. Stiff as hell and bumpy ride, tip of my finger is still numb from it. Was about to return the mouse, but luckily i have found your fix. Sorry OP, haven't tried your fix :) Anyways, mouse is useable now, thanks @WerNearWerty!

Even though this video is 4 YEARS old, this issue still persists in the Naga Trinity mouses still sold in 2023, as my mouse I bought in January started showing signs of stiffness in late February and is pretty much unusable now in mid-march. I used some gun oil lubricant delivered through one of those bottles with a needle syringe on the end to reach all the way inside there, and it seemingly "fixed" it, for now. I'm bookmarking this video, since I will obviously need it once the gun oil stops working and I forget how I made it work again in the first place.
I feel so stupid for buying this mouse, my previous Corsair mouse was flawless, but corsair's icue software is total garbage and crashes frequently, or stops recognizing my corsair mouse until I unplugged it and plugged it back in. Corsair could be the best if they took their software seriously. The Razer software is so much better and intuitive.

WD-40 should dry out very fast, because it is not a lubricant, it's a solvent. Once it dries up, it'll feel just as rough as before you applied it. That's why a proper lubricant would be recommended

My wheel started feeling "sticky" a week or so ago. i found this video today. i didn't have any grease handy, but i saw your comment so i decided to try it. first i used an electric duster to blow out anything that might have been in there. then i sprayed WD40 Electrical Contact Cleaner down along both sides of the wheel. i let it dry for several minutes, then took the electric duster to it again. it worked amazingly well. the wheel feels better now than it did when it was brand new. not sure how long it will last, but it was a fast and easy fix that i can easily perform again. thank you!

this mouse has been on my radar for a long time. i love razer synapse, i like the idea of the swappable side panels, and i only use wired mice - so i bought one brand new in august 2023.
but on day 2 of using it, i started having issues with the scroll wheel. put some hand cream inside the mouse wheel and now it scrolls properly. i'm not sure about the spring mod in the pinned comment, but i'm enjoying using my new mouse with the greased up scroll wheel.

Just got a new Naga and the scroll wheel was stiff. Used some Unilube a mineral based oil, didn't help at first but after blowing some compressed air the stiffness went away.
I would be carful with what oil to use. From experience some oils don't mix well with silicone and rubber making it swell. Introducing oil may also increase the accumulation of dust so don't use to much.

Okay. I just bought a razer naga trinity and the scroll wheel is stiff as all hell. HOWEVER -My solution is different than yours. Basically, if you look on the inside you can see a long piece of metal on a spring which pushes upwards into the notches on the inside of your scroll wheel (I suggest having either the mouse turned on with its lights or use light to see inside. Either way, if you look inside then you will understand what I mean).
So basically a piece of metal is catching into the plastic notches on the inside of the wheel... metal.. plastic.. Idea.
I used my wifes nail file (because it was nearby, but you can also use something softer like the plastic straw thing you get with compressed air cans) and slid it inside the mouse and pressed the metal bar UPWARDS in order to make the scroll wheel mechanism very tough, and then I started scrolling as hard as I could. This ultimately meant that the metal wore down some of the plastic inside of the wheel itself. Now my scroll wheel is much easier to use. If you wanted to disassemble your mouse and then manually file down the notches or bend the metal or loosen the spring so its not pressing upwards so hard, that will also fix your issue I suspect.
In theory slipping some glue in there and sticking down the metal piece will create a frictionless mouse wheel, but thats not what Im looking for.
TLDR: Slide something thin but hard like a nail file down the side of the mouse wheel and lift UP the metal bar. If your mouse wheel becomes hard to scroll then you are doing it right. Keep scrolling in order to slowly grind down the notches on the inside of your mouse wheel. This might take a few mins or longer! Stop when you find its normal operation to be adequate.
    Or just RMA it.

wtf is this scroll wheel?! I had a trinity before, it was working like a charm. The scroll wheel was loose and fine and I was very happy with it. It's 2024 and I just bought a new one. I'm working as a software developer and I can't even scroll through my code without pushing hard enough for the click to activate, making the experience completely miserable.
I tried to move the side panel to my old mouse to double-check it wasn't just the side panel which had died there but unfortunately, that mouse has internal damage, where buttons 5 and 10 are dead so there is nothing I can do. I'm going to have to test that grease method. Ideally, I'd like to just bend the metallic piece forcing the stick against that internal wheel but it'd be game over if I bent it too much.
