Angelina's voice has changed drastically in the four years since she did it when she was 14. It has become deeper and husker so that her range has shifted a bit. I think she knows the song very well from the past but with her newer voice there are choices she needs to make, so that she can learn to use the nuances of her current voice to maximize the effect for the song.

Diana worked hard on her upper range recovery, but it isn't as flexible/dynamic in certain tonalities. In regards to When We Were Young, hopefully Angie maintains her record of impeccable taste. Extra ordinary R&B or Queen of Soul could get too Christina Agulara, i.e. runs, runs and more runs. I exaggerate of course.

From observation, she doesn't do the perfectionist thing for playing instruments. She's a very casual strummer at guitar, which is fine. She does work on piano it seems. All of it aids her in knowing what she wants from an ensemble or composing for here original material.
She did this live in Norway at 13yo and it was effortless perfection. Like a refined Adele. Here she is stylizing it with her unique bag of tools, but it also sounds like it can easily go into vocal gymnastics. After covering Mercy, she has found her 'early adult years' signature style. It also seems that she is bringing out the 'Queen of Soul' for covers. Fingers crossed.

Dressed by Dolce Gabbana and her escort is the grandson of the founder of Indonesia. A few years back Forbes ranked the venue as one of the 10 most influential in the world. This was very much a practice, maybe just trying out the new arrangement with the violin. I think we can hear her say AMAZING before she turns toward the violinist and lets go of a smile. A very beautiful arrangement 🙂 Also, just after she started, you can hear her ask her mother where Juliette is. Her mother tells her that she is with Michael, and then she continues. She is so incredibly loving and caring. In her original "What Is Life" she calls Juliette the love of her life. As far as your statement that we always get to hear the end result with her, I don't agree. We have roughly 100 performances with her and Egil or Ivan on guitar, and all of those were 1-takes without any preparation. There is a part at the beginning that tells you a little about Angelina. While singing the song, at the 3:14 mark, she asks "where's Juliette" (her sis). I believe mom says "with Michael" (uncle), then she continues to sing.
They dropped the violin part for the final performance. In fact, the "process" you are referring to is Angelina most likely (my guess) trying to decide whether to keep the violin part - it is not that she is not sure of the song as she has sung it several times at events.

She is a Pro, so when I see her now, I expected anything less than the most elevated behavior in a studio... I do have to say, that I was more than surprised to see her wearing shoes when singing... Relisten to this and concentrate on how amazing the connection between her voice and instrumentation is. She hears the accompaniment so differently than most singers today. When she bends the lyrics, she typically does it in perfect harmony with the instruments. I imagine this is one reason so many of her songs have such spare instrumentation. I actually wonder if when she has done performances with bands or orchestras she keys off of one or two instruments. Fantastic reaction, Britt!
This is crazy, I’m telling you her vocals feel like it’s time travelling right her.. what do I mean by that ?.. it’s like the soul/ styling in her vocals started sounding older as she it the, Old and Restless part.. literally dragging more emotion out of the words, the violin rifts is adding to this effect as well.. if you listen back to her older live stages performances, she was not squeezing/ stressing that particular part out like that before.. this has come with her age witch is crazy because, she is still very young.. like your saying, she’s like the youngest veteran I’ve ever seen. Still way beyond her years.. Very young but she has vocal Emotional Intelligence and intuition. This is what separates her. And This is only a rehearsal.

You can say that this is a standard Angelina performance if you have heard enough of her. She takes a well known beautiful song and uses her incredible vocal abilities along with her musical instincts to make something that is all hers. It is like she is laying musical bricks in designs that no one has ever done before but we can still recognize the structure. Each tiny brick has a purpose and contributes to the whole.

When you see the finished song she quite often has little secret smiles.... I think its because sections that took some sorting out in rehearsals have worked out ok, I love that ...she is so fascinating, I always watch her face you can see her working the song.
You're absolutely right, she doesn't look or act like a teenager, especially when it comes to her music. Someone who celebrates her 10-year stage anniversary tomorrow (November 24th) 🎉 could definitely be described as a veteran (which also explains why she not really notices the camera, at least during rehearsals). As for song selection - Angelina has always been fearless and remains so to this day when it comes to taking the most famous and challenging songs to give us a new interpretation. There aren't many singers who let us watch their arrangement develop - for a long time I had the impression that RR wasn't happy about it because we rarely saw something like that. But it seems like it was a misunderstanding or they've changed their mind, because lately you've been seeing more, not just tiktok shorts but also some studio stuff.

I think you are right Britt, it’s easy to forget at 13 she’s still a child, and yet she’s right up there challenging Adele.
There is a part at the beginning that tells you a little about Angelina. While singing the song, at the 3:14 mark, she asks "where's Juliette" (her sis). I believe mom says "with Michael" (uncle), then she continues to sing.
Angelina sang this song when she was younger and there is great audio.
They dropped the violin part for the final performance. In fact, the "process" you are referring to is Angelina most likely (my guess) trying to decide whether to keep the violin part - it is not that she is not sure of the song as she has sung it several times at events.

She is a Pro, so when I see her now, I expected anything less than the most elevated behavior in a studio... I do have to say, that I was more than surprised to see her wearing shoes when singing... I guess I haven't been keeping up with her as I did in past years... she is looking a lot more like her mom.

She does wear shoes while practicing, but not when performing 🙂 This was very laid back, in the beginning you can hear her ask her mother where Juliette (her little sister) was, whereas her mother replies that she is with Micheal (her uncle and manager). Then she could continue. Still the sweetest, loving and caring girl you'll ever see ♥♥♥

Glad to see you back, I believe this is her recently built studio by Republic Records just for her.
Relisten to this and concentrate on how amazing the connection between her voice and instrumentation is. She hears the accompaniment so differently than most singers today. When she bends the lyrics, she typically does it in perfect harmony with the instruments. I imagine this is one reason so many of her songs have such spare instrumentation. I actually wonder if when she has done performances with bands or orchestras she keys off of one or two instruments. Fantastic reaction, Britt!

This is crazy, I’m telling you her vocals feel like it’s time travelling right her.. what do I mean by that ?.. it’s like the soul/ styling in her vocals started sounding older as she it the, Old and Restless part.. literally dragging more emotion out of the words, the violin rifts is adding to this effect as well.. if you listen back to her older live stages performances, she was not squeezing/ stressing that particular part out like that before.. this has come with her age witch is crazy because, she is still very young.. like your saying, she’s like the youngest veteran I’ve ever seen. Still way beyond her years.. Very young but she has vocal Emotional Intelligence and intuition. This is what separates her.

You're absolutely right, she doesn't look or act like a teenager, especially when it comes to her music. Someone who celebrates her 10-year stage anniversary tomorrow (November 24th) 🎉 could definitely be described as a veteran (which also explains why she not really notices the camera, at least during rehearsals).
As for song selection - Angelina has always been fearless and remains so to this day when it comes to taking the most famous and challenging songs to give us a new interpretation.
There aren't many singers who let us watch their arrangement develop - for a long time I had the impression that RR wasn't happy about it because we rarely saw something like that. But it seems like it was a misunderstanding or they've changed their mind, because lately you've been seeing more, not just tiktok shorts but also some studio stuff.
