I never thought I would say this but I have tried to do some of these styles on men and women of other ethnicity. African, African American/ mixed hair textures are different than what people term as white people hair. Now I'm not saying other cultures cant try it, but please respect where it came from. My own Mayan people plaited not conrnrowed, and wound ribbons. These hairstyles absolutely, are going back centuries of African beauty and cultures, tribes and status so yeah.. Im gonna have to say this looks better on their hair, their textured hair, and they have the talent and grace and beauty to look phenomenal.

People can embrace cultures from afar. There is nothing wrong with that.

Non - textured hair doesn’t hold braids like cornrows the same way that textured hair does, so hair styles like this work better on people whose hair isn’t straight.
Look what the traditional Viking hairstyles look like for example, you'll see that it looks a lot like that. Braids are not just part of African culture.
Braids don't belong to African culture but cornrows in a protective style, box braids, and similar protective styles were invented to protect the textured hair usually found in people of color. My Hispanic friend said she tried this type of style and it was too painful/tight on her light hair. But that's not to say people of other cultures with thicker hair couldn't try this style. Also, the Viking hair you're talking about is a bit different in execution and purpose. Though it is very similar, it wouldn't really be worn for as long. Braids like those might be worn for a couple days while African style cornrows would be worn for at least a month.
I love embracing other cultures and I would be a hypocrite if I didnt. I'm a latina with ancestors who originate from africa and indigenous latin America. So my hair texture is not your typical "straight silky" latina hair that people imagine. I admire people who have full on kinky hair because sometimes I can't even deal with my thick ass curls 😂 I think culture is a gorgeous thing

SilaMelei setting foam my stylist uses the pump it or bronner brother’s brand. Lotta body makes a good foam that can be found at Walmart. Idk if mousse is exactly the same but it might be worth a try
