    28:45 "Most people don't even do 20 rep sets of squats."
    I squat twice a week. 4 months ago I started making the last squat session of every other week a lighter weight squat for 20 reps, and my legs have grown more in 4 months than they have the last year.
    It is SO hard to grind out 4 sets of 20 squats at 85% of your normal 10-12 rep weight. Literally the hardest grind ever. And I do it right at the beginning of my leg workout to keep me humble. If I fail to hit the reps on the rest of my leg sets I do it until I can. Once I can I add weight to the accessories and try again. Once I hit that I add weight to the squats.
    As a result my measly squat went from 265 for 5x5 to 345 for 5x5 in 4 months.

    Really enjoyed the litvinov workout video as well because you seriously tried doing it. I don't need the "adhd humor" all the time, I like strength sports and I like watching it for what it is.

    Loved this podcast, the difference in color between Dave's face and his arms had me rolling though

  • @areyoutheregoditsmedave
    @areyoutheregoditsmedave 3 ปีที่แล้ว +20

    I think juji is wrong about the adhd of the audience. We can watch two hours of training without jokes and jump cuts.
    Edit: my logic is that back in the 90s and 00s tv producers thought viewers had short attention spans and couldn’t consume long for content. Fast forward to the age of TH-cam and podcasts and one and a half hour podcasts are typical and Joe Rogan is one of the most influential people in media with his three hour shows.

    38:00 I use my phone to time sets. I never go on social media during a workout (I rarely do any way). I usually pop on Juji videos and use the gym noises for motivation and use the time bar to make sure I get in to my next set right to the second. 😂

    I do farmers for one min then bike for two mins with a ten second break in between after about 5 rounds you feel like your going to die lol but it makes you super fit.

      Can I ask you what does this do for you? In regards to your physique or your health what does this do for you? Is it making your heart and lungs work hard in which case couldn't you put your wrists and traps under less strain by doing actual cardio work or are you trying to work your forearms and your traps in which case couldn't you do for him and trap exercises? I'm just trying to understand the reason behind doing this

  • @waynebarfield1618
    @waynebarfield1618 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Have to argue with juji we actually want to see the entire workout. So many people actually use yalls videos to create their own so we use sets reps rest times things if that nature

    My God how many videos does Doug brignole have to do about not even doing preacher curl let alone about the functional disabilities you're putting your bicep tendon under and then you go towards a Max effort max weight oh horrible horrible idea as he found out lucky everybody there didn't tear their bicep
