Expert, intermediate, and guitar player. LOL that line made me nearly spit my drink. That was hilarious!
Expert, intermediate, and guitar player. How awesomely true! Laughed my @$$ off! Saw this before I went to sleep last night and actually had a dream about a guitar player who I quit hanging out with 10 years ago. (Ironically, he was very nice in the dream! lol)
By far the best instructor/ teacher on TH-cam.
Agreed 💯
Don't forget that Tony Williams was the drummer who first popularized the lick.
Calvin Rodgers, Dave Weckl, Vinnie Colaiuta, they along with many others have played this lick. Thank you Rob Brown for breaking it down. BUT YES, THANK YOU TONY WILLIAMS FOR MAKING IT POPULAR.
Ding! Fries are done! 🤣🤣 thanks Rob! 👍🏼
Awesome, Thanks Rob
Nice sounding snare drum
Dang! Those Herta fills are tasty! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
You are really a cool teacher on drums bro! Everything changed for me, when a drummer from old school said; "It is not about beat per minute, but FEEL per minute" 😎 Working on some stuff in 6/8, have just briefly gone into some of your old vids. Need a jazzy, bluesy, soothing shuffle with variations for the project. Doing a deep dive into your lessons. You are my man bro , thnx a lot!!! 😎🙏
Como siempre, excelente video, muchas gracias 👍🥁
Great stuff Rob! It Herta's so good! Thanks Todd is in Nashville tonight doing a drum class and Greg will in town at the Music City Drum Show next week. Thanks Rob, great fill.
It’s sounds good . Thanks Rob.😊
Thanks Rob!
Thank you Rob! Great video! 👍🙏
Don’t understand/dislike your expert level flam fills; Same for the guitar player version. The hurta intermediate after 9:28 is perfect. Wish I could still play like that! Avoid arthritis! Well done!
Dr. Brown!! 💥💥
Great Rob luv wot you give us.from Australia.
It’s kind of like a loosely played Swiss army triplet.
I like it! Thanks!
Thanks for another awesome lesson Beatdown! To this day I still use some of your exercises! 🥁❤️
In my practice routine.
Hoy encontré tu canal, gracias a un comentario recomdandote, me quedo aquí, me servirá, recién comenzaré a tocar mi kit Pearl que tengo almacenados desde hace 15 años, retomaré y aprenderé en tu canal, gracias! Saludos desde México!🙌
Very helpful. Thanks
Thanks Rob
Sounds great
That nuclear high-hat sauce at 9:32 had me pulling off Hwy 27 coming into Chattanooga 2 weeks ago. Stopped on the mountain top, ran it back and had zero signal. 😮 Looked up and I could see the valley with the nuclear plant in the distance. Yep, fitting. Still wasn’t 100% on how you did it until watching again today. 🔥⚛️ THAT is gravy no one teaches. 😂 Nice work! 👍😎✊
Sir, Great breakdown on this tool for articulation ❤👍
I thought this video would probably be about the blushda :)
I think the difficulty is mostly in making it sound good and making the flam "obvious".
Also a tight-sounding snare without too much ringing helps :)
Rob talk about introducing musical ideas throughout a song, these are a great opportunity for that. Use the beginner one at the first fill, inter after the bridge, advanced a bunch back to back to back right near the end/peak!!
The guitar joke make my day 😂 awesome lesson. I prefere the herta 🤘👍
Yea me too
Great stuff, be cool to see some more info on how the playback works on future vids!!
Great grooves here. I saw Greg Bissonette live with Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band, in Edmonton, in 2015.
What first got me interested in drumming was Steve Gadd. It was the Paul Simon song, 50 Ways To Leave Your Lover, that I heard on the radio, in the 1970s, which did that. I still see that influence of Steve Gadd, with what you are playing here. It would be cool to see you live. Cheers, Rob! 👍🏻👍🏻✌️🥁🇨🇦
sounds good! and always impressive when put into the right musical setting :)
❤❤❤ cheers from Chile 🇨🇱🌶️
Sounds like a swiss trip with an extra note.
Left half of the Flam drag
Whatever but his expert level doesn’t sound like the Blushda. Steve Holmes does a nice one, and also Gavin Harrison.
Can you plz do a video on knowing what fill grouping count to do when playing with certain grooves & time signatures? Beginner drummer here so I dnt know all the terminology but I’m mean for example fill groups for songs that are 2count, 3 count, 4 count, etc.. I’ve learned a few fills but intimidated to use in songs because I’m not sure when/if they fit the groove.
My maaan! 👊
I Resemble that last level... I'm a Guitarist/Songwriter... I'm learning how to play Drums 😃
What a fantastic lesson. The blushda always felt like it was just out of reach for me. Apparently not, had it in the bag all along, just didn't know it. Or maybe it was just time, who knows, either way your lesson has been a total breakthrough for me. Love it
Nice, man 👌🏽🙂
The original works pretty well in a solo by using the first right on the ride cymbal instead of the tom.
Preesh Rob!!!! Always great stuff
I think fills like that sound better if not played for a full bar. For example, play it for two beats followed by triplets, or just on beats three and four.
Hello. I have a 70,s vintage premier drum set the african mahogany wood that I have listed to sell. I don't know if I should keep it or not after figuring out what it is.. what are your thoughts? Please help me out. GBY
How do you spell blujdah?
find the 10's bolts now yo go
I came for the sticking; I stayed for the shirt. (how'd you know I'd be looking at the shirt?)
🩵👊😎
You play your blushda a lot like a grandma. No, literally the hybrid rudiment called the grandma.
Sorry for any confusion 😂
oh, its a freaking backwards flam.
First! 🎉
I’m the guitar player 😂
Hahaha. You know we love y’all
I've heard this lick called a "blushda". Thanks for the lesson
I don’t like this particular lick. But thanks for posting content. I do look forward to other content ❤
This fill seems kind of sloppy.
TONY would be cringing, You can't CHEAT ......
I like Rob but he ran out of interesting ideas to post about a year ago
