      Mylii Le The only reason that paint has a visible hue or color is because it absorbs all wave lengths of light besides the color it is on the spectrum. The only wave lengths of light that reflects off of it is the color that we see it as. The color white absorbs almost no light but reflects almost all wave lengths on the light spectrum which is why white is such a bright color.

      Mylii Le I'm sorry if you can see something there's light being reflected off of it. White is a reflection of all colors, black is all colors being absorbed

      Ahhh yes, the random internet guy that knows the exact problem of something that an engineering, development and all those other departments couldn't see or solve with all their knowledge and know-how. How marvelous to see such a genius dismantle an entire process with just one quick and simple thought.

      Luppiter Because $34 million worth of balls was a good idea to "save" 2 million in water cost. LA must not have had any engineers, development or any other departments involved in that project. Luppiter have you ever looked into snow blindness? Or been on a vast expanse of white sand? Or was the pigtail lightbulb a good idea in below zero weather? Spoiler, the bulb glows like a match instead of a lightbulb. This paint job seems like it might have been part of the movie Idiocracy that current politicians have deemed to be a good idea. Keep thinking.

    • @IEleMenTIx
      @IEleMenTIx 7 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      cause people usually don't drive on the lines. and if they do, they don't get dirty so easily because they have a very smooth surface. regular road markings have to be different from the paint shown in this video though. regular road markings are pretty slippery for rubber when they are wet so the whole street would get slippery as hell when it rains. the paint therefore has to be rougher, and rougher means that it accumulates dirt easier...

      Complaint already lodged with Black Lives Matter. They state that the road should continue to be black to allow for the true identity to reveal itself. And also that the white color is an eyesore, both in being white itself, as well as allowing for red blood stains to be more apparent, allowing for more blacks to be locked up.

      No your wrong the sun it self dosent make us warm if that was so we would all be dead. What they are talking about is the suns radiation, the suns radiation is what we fell and is what make us warm. So the white pavement dosent absorb alot of the suns radiation it just reflects it. Makes sense now? So you cant get blinded by the radiation if thats the case then we would all be blind or looking at light reflections.

    • @mestari8502
      @mestari8502 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      BroTrocks The sunlight is a form of radiation, it just happens to have heat, and visual properties. I'm not saying they are going to go completely blind. I'm saying the the sunlight reflecting off the white pavement will temporarily blind drivers, possibly making them crash. Also, the white streets seem like a safety hazard because extended periods of looking at a white, reflective road can cause eye damage. This is why snow hikers always have to wear sunglasses, because the white snow can temporarily or even permanently blind you.

    • @dynamicworlds1
      @dynamicworlds1 7 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      HelloKittyFan 26 there's something like 400k miles of road in California.
      40k X 400k = $16 billion, and you have to keep replacing it every 7 years (which is SUPER generous IMO)
      For reference, that would be 10% of all tax revenue for a year, just to have white roads (& wouldn't count things like increased accidents from reduced visibility or more slippery roads or any environmental concerns from whatever they're using)

    • @Rowow
      @Rowow 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      1: You dont have to paint all the roads in California. Only the ones in cities and buildings. That makes about 50% in LA, and would be FAR less for the entire state
      www.laalmanac.com/transport/tr01.php
      2: Maintenance PER YEAR on a mile of road is $3,000-$17,000. So count up 7 years and you already passed 40k

    • @JorDay0828
      @JorDay0828 7 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Jose mozo heat is what causes asphalt to degrade fast. Asphalt expands to a small degree when heated and goes back to its original form after the day ends, causing cracking and degrading roads, and the sun dries the main components of asphalt. So reducing heat would lower costs for asphalt usage.
      However in this video they say that it'll help our homes as a main argument, which may be misleading.
