    I tell my daughter to make sure she marries a man who has not only a good job but good money management. I was able to make enough where her mom, my wife, never had to work if she did not want to. I think most women should go this route.
    I saw my wife go through post partum issues, and all the stuff that happens when women have a baby...the very least a man can bring to the table is to make sure he can provide for your kid and the wife. I get now days 2 incomes are often needed...but dont marry a bum. As a man I dont see a problem with marrying a man with finances in mind..jusy make sure he will stick by you.

    I just want to say thank you for discussing this topic. I was called gold digger for years because I don’t want to marry or date a man that has nothing for himself or nothing going on for himself. I think young ladies need to know that struggle don’t mean love.

    A problem that occured for me specifically was having a partner who asked me to quit my job, but wasn't transparent about how our household finances would work. I just had to "let him worry about that"... And all my spidey senses said "Noooope! I would like to be your partner, not your dependent." That is NOT the level of vulnerability that I've been called to. I would rather pay all these bills alone than have thaaaaat type of anxiety.

    Its often black women who are taught the “ride or die” narrative, often black women who are shamed when they want a financially stable and literate man. It’s great that you’ve spoken about this, hopefully it can reach many more black women. I think the higher, women as a collective, set their standards, it will cause a trickle down effect that would force men to “level up/do better”. However that in itself is a conversation to be had. Many men have resorted to gaslighting and projecting instead of just doing better which is sad. Ridiculing women who want better for themselves, and it’s always when it comes to a black woman. Often poking at their self worth, their physical appearance etc, and that’s why I find most black women who seek hypergamy/marrying up tend to marry white men.

    • @SJ-tk6rm
      @SJ-tk6rm 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      A whole lot of crap…is that what your fathers are saying?!? Funny thing is most of you went to school with the men you claim who are not financially stable and literate 😂😂 m. You want to get all the benefit of these things yet yourself can’t do it for yourself. So you think white is right? I always question women like you. You love to play this race element but refuse to acknowledge most people in relationships contribute no matter what race.

    on the subject of financially educating your relatives, i recently found out that my favorite cousin at a small age of 21 had nearly 6k £ in debt, this is not school loans or business, just partying and shopping and the way she gets loans is by googling for random lenders and taking the loan, i nearly cried when i saw those interest rates. some of the loans she had been paying for months but all the payments were going towards interest. helped her come up with a solid plan and explained just how detrimental her credit score was in the long run but ultimately, she's the only one that can pull herself out of that hole.

      Wow! I’m glad I don’t overspend, the most I buy is manga, clothes and food. It’s really important to live by moderation but not everyone does. I hope she can get out of the debt, 6k is worse than 10k or 100k. It’s something that can be paid over a few years and isn’t too detrimental.

    I think a point I had conflict with is that we should be okay with someone that has the average salary for the country they are living in. I think that statement should be adjusted because a majority of peoples average/mean salary is closer to the poverty line than the line of safety/security. I think what we should strive for as people that have a salary that is satisfactory for living within a city or particular town. A salary that meets the means of the environment that they’re living in.
    Just a thought I think it was a slight miscommunication.

    Good character is way more important than any money.
    I'm not trying to marry a rich guy who is obnoxious, controlling with money, arrogant or abusive. I am not impressed if a guy brags too much about his money/drags others that don't make as much as him. I can't stand arrogance in a man. I'm of the opinion women should not be men's dependents as most men are not trustworthy enough for the provider role and even if they were, life can happen and your man may not always be around/may not always be healthy enough to work.

    To my sisters, thank you. Thank you simply, for conveying your words articulately with such passion, clarity, love and depth. This is so rare to find these days. And I wished all women could listen to this. I have an entire note on everything discussed on this podcast. Healthy and functional seems to be unheard of these days because even from a personal point of view I feel we all have unhealed wounds we are all trying to work on. But like mentioned; it is possible feels like a far reach but healthy and functional is possible. Thank you so much for being a light source and an amazing source of inspiration. To glowing and growing ❤. To the sisterhood ❤.

    Hey Sisters. You mentioned that there is a need to determine whether you are willing to stick with a person knowing that who they are will evolve over time. Well, how do you determine whether you should leave because something is part of their character and won't change or if you should stick around because it's something that could evolve?

    • @paballo3562
      @paballo3562 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Loved this podcast ❤ A close friend became a sugar baby, and essentially exchanges her time and provides sex with these men for money/gifts. She did this because she is struggling financially. Her version of sugaring sounds like prostitution to me 😢. It rocked me to my core that she is choosing to do this, but of course she says she is having fun and she feels empowered. I am just disgusted at the whole thing. We are more than just objects for men’s pleasure that can be bought.

    The reality of a "six figure" guy who is in his twenties, physically and emotionally available is a bit far fetched. I would rather be with someone who's financially average but has time for me than someone who makes six figures but is hardly around. It's okay to prefer the latter as long as you are okay with that reality

Let him go Sis, unless he is ready to work on himself. What are his ambition ? Cause smoking weed all day everyday Ain't it 🫠
