19:46 fun fact: Aldi is short for Albrecht Diskont (Discount) and is a German supermarket with the express goal of having everything be on a discount. As a New Yorker, can confirm the line at Trader Joe's still goes all around the store (though there's more than one in the city now). I've still never bought anything from there, but once I made it halfway around the store before giving up.
At Fabian's they could exclusively play only Fabian albums/ Music while customers are shopping. Retail nightmare of looping music, I know, but it would fit right in with the name/ theme. I'm a cashier & the place I'm at does not play any music, it's WAY too quiet sometimes.
Who would've thought hiring on more staff, and not piling everything onto 1 person would improve efficiency and morale, and cause people to want to work? Seems a lot more effective than a cake in the break room every few months.
So a fun little glitch, if you pick up your cash register like you’re rearranging the store, there’s an option to box it up. If you put the cash register in a box before ending the day, a new one spawns, and then you can sell the boxed one for extra cash without taking out a loan. If not advancing the day, then do it before opening the store, exit to menu, and then start again.

you can change the name of the store but it costs a lot. you can also type how much the customer owes in the credit card machine and you don't have to type the zeros. you can choose to play the game however you like but you can usually get away with charging just over the market price. charging to the nearest dollar or 50 cents can make the transaction faster. the outside world is just one square block.
