I watched this the night it aired in Australia...and I've always remembered it because it was like the REAL David Bowie shone through... a real insight into the human being, not the enigma..not the rock star...a real person who was down to earth, intelligent, hilariously funny and quick witted..I loved it back then..and I love it more today after the sad events yesterday...RIP...
Bowie, for all his genius, claim to fame, and popularity is so genuine. I love him in concert always engaging with the audience and having so much fun. So real. Love the man. Love the music
"I think I've put my hand on something that we're going to see a lot of in the future." Judging by that little smirk at the end, I'd say he made an innuendo. Lol! Happy Birthday, man. We miss you a lot. (1/8/2022)
For me it’s almost impossible to mention Bowie’s name in the past tense. Everything he represented as an artist was, and always will be vital and incredibly present! As a cutting edge, artistic genius, he continues to live on through his music. Like the the miraculous moon landing, that inspired the song, he drew us away from our suburban lives. Expanding our horizons, turning everything on its head, into gloriously, subversive, technicolor. As an innovative writer, performer and rock star, there was no one and nothing else like him. He was truely unique. A quintessential, visionary, pushing the limits of his shape shifting persona. The ultimate icon, gracious, dangerous and legendary. The legacy of his extraordinary sound and vision, will be loved and revered until as long as the earth still spins. His influence on culture itself has no equal. He was the very definition, the living imbodiment of ICON.
And it's a real pleasure to watch this interview ! what a treat, he so funny and handsome !! Totally under his charm and...he doesn't even sing in here !!!!! What a wonderful man !
Bowie, David : you're my God. You are surrounded by so much positive waves and energy. Thank you for posting more interviews of the one and only : David Bowie.
Amazing Interview with Rove and David Bowie! Good albums released, last had some good songs that only Bowie could write! Good attitude! Ziggy- a friend from Stuttgart in Germany and a Siamese 70s cat!
***** When quoting a song lyric which Bowie wrote describing death, then I think it is of importance in such circumstances. We simply have a difference of opinion on that.
Have you already seen the film?I'm loking forward to it, as well..and yeah, this interview here is amazing I've watched it more than once..I hope he'll release a new album in the next years...unbeleavable he's almost 60! I love the way he laughs! ^^
OMG,he's so funny, handsomely distinguished,i'm tellin ya,you don't see many 60 yr olds if any this good lookin and so full of energy, you can never say enough about David bowie,he's so smart, love him, love him, love him, deathnotes mom,Barbara in Canada:)
He's worried about her coming to him asking 'if you though the world was this shitty, why did you bring me into it?' Not at all worried about 'Dad, what in hell are you wearing?' Or 'What are you doing with the guitar player onstage?' Or maybe even 'Mick Jagger, Dad? Really? You and Mick Jagger...?'
Around 4:00, they're talking about when Lexi will see her first picture of Ziggy Stardust. She's seen him as Ziggy. Iman has said, "When Lexi was about four, she first saw a picture of David as Ziggy Stardust. ‘Why is his hair orange?’ she wanted to know. The makeup didn’t faze her.” Haha. I bet David laughed at that!
That must have been before the minor heart attack. Seems to me he stopped that tour after he suffered in Germany on stage. So sad. I'd love to see him sometime in concert. I hope he gets betterT^T
We'll get to see him in May! He'll be curating the first annual Highline Music and Art Festival, which will culminate in a huge outdoor Bowie concert! :D New York City, starts the second week in May, I believe.
It's amazing that he reminds me here of Joni Mitchell in both of their middle-age appearances. Bravo to both of them for their great contributions to music.
It's just great when the interviewer being nice and respect his guest. Strangely enough its not usually like this, they will keep interrupting or asking absurd question and all that (especially that shitty Russell Harty interview annoys me every time I watch)
Allright thank you...I wanted to see the film anyway but now I can't wait to!^^ I love the way his hair is in the video- are you sure that he'll release a new album??
Fucking depressing considering i'm watching this in 2021 hahah like i would've cut off an arm to see him in tour unfortuantly i was only around 2-3 years old when he was touring in the down under.
You're right ! Now that you've pointed it, I noticed it too, especially towards the end at 6:40 and 6:58... Lol I'm sure his daughter will absolutely love Labyrinth, but I really wonder what she said when she saw a picture or a concert of his father in his Ziggy days (she did by now I guess). That must have been pretty awkward for him xD
It's because David wasn't really there for his son. Him and Angie were having problems. He's deeply in love with Iman, and it's not everyday when a man in his 50's has a baby.
He's so dazzlingly handsome and witty i feel like i'm being blinded, like i don't think i'd survive being in the same room.
Calm down
+John Smith nO
He is so witty and is in the driver's seat!Even though he is being interviewed-he's calling all the shots and is in complete control of the situation.

So witty and funny, he is, unlike most modern artists nowadays
Oh he's sooo funny! I love Bowie
I'd like for once a David Bowie interview where Ziggy Stardust isn't mentioned
He is the most adorkable man in the world. Love!!!!
It's so odd. His laugh still sounds like Jareth, after 20 years. That's so wierd. God, I love his humor.
I read your comment right as he did a really Jarethy laugh in the video. It really is strange(and nice) to hear!
David the comedian Bowie!LOL!!!!He's so funny!
His voice is so sexy. :D

Amazing Interview with Rove and David Bowie! Good albums released, last had some good songs that only Bowie could write! Good attitude! Ziggy- a friend from Stuttgart in Germany and a Siamese 70s cat!
Whaddya think there, Rove? :D Cracks me up, every time.
It was 2003 near the very beginning of the Reality Tour.
Gah, I love Bowie. So very much. He was so hilarious in that interview. ^_^
..this voice is gone......I ´M sad...........KNOWLEDGE COMES WITH DEATH ´S RELIEF::::OHHHHHOOOOO::: rest inpeace david....
+acapulco ramon
If you're quoting Quicksand, it's "death's release."

LMFAO, David Bowie: Adult Website! Thats hilarious!
When was this made? He's a natural born comedian! Love British humor!
Wow, Rove actually did a decent interview.
Yes, "The Man Who Fell To Earth," which was in 1976, 30 years ago. ;)
😄 great interview both of them were funny
what a good interview real funny made me laugh nice one
that was a fun interview!
Holy crap you're right! :O I always thought he said "the comedian" too! :D
Great interview! Thx!
That question on Kylie Minogue. 😂
So hilarious.
So cool ... so I picked up my guitar and recorded his thoughts as I remembered them ... it was in a dream...
David has a great outlook in life, good values
Is it just me or does Bowie seem much more funnier and laid back in his Aussie interview when compared to when he goes to the USA.
Exactly, and I prefer the more mature Bowie myself!

The guy could've been a comedian! XD
God, I love this man. Fucking awesome.
😀8thjan2022.HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVID
U R THE MOST SWEET HUMBLE MAN😀🧡🎼
Yay David! he is awesome right.
Woah! Let's not age him THAT fast, LOL! He's only 60, and was 56 at the time of this interview.
That must have been before the minor heart attack. Seems to me he stopped that tour after he suffered in Germany on stage. So sad. I'd love to see him sometime in concert. I hope he gets betterT^T
God I love this video! Man David has still got it!
We'll get to see him in May! He'll be curating the first annual Highline Music and Art Festival, which will culminate in a huge outdoor Bowie concert! :D New York City, starts the second week in May, I believe.
Dunque non capisco niente ma la sua voce mi dice tutto ciao grande david❤
Hahaha what a hero.
@DocOfAreaology
I know! You can't help but laugh with him!
Haha I think that's awesome!
It's amazing that he reminds me here of Joni Mitchell in both of their middle-age appearances. Bravo to both of them for their great contributions to music.
What a fantastic interview. Parkinson can never get that sort of warmth and fun from him.
It's just great when the interviewer being nice and respect his guest. Strangely enough its not usually like this, they will keep interrupting or asking absurd question and all that (especially that shitty Russell Harty interview annoys me every time I watch)
I love that one too! I have it on DVD, but I don't know how to upload from a disc. :(
Bowie was a genius
YEAH, A REMARKABLE TALENT 🚶🧡🎼
@@marlenesullivan3113 yes he was Marlene
Thanx for the nice answer!
What an absolute doll (both of 'em) (But David especially)
Love you David Bowie husband it’s wife Lisa nurse
I'm so glad that he did that because I'd had a bus accident and couldn't go to gigs.

Love David - Such`a najs arse :)
a good interview. I hope he brings out a new album soon.
Very funny....
"...or should heI call Rovay?"
I like it a lot!
That is so cute!
Fucking depressing considering i'm watching this in 2021 hahah like i would've cut off an arm to see him in tour unfortuantly i was only around 2-3 years old when he was touring in the down under.
Smart,funny...hmm. *watches video again*
You're right ! Now that you've pointed it, I noticed it too, especially towards the end at 6:40 and 6:58...

You're my hero! xD
If he even got near me, I’d drop dead.
6:40 lil snort, aw
It's because David wasn't really there for his son.
Him and Angie were having problems.
He's deeply in love with Iman, and it's not everyday when a man in his 50's has a baby.
No, Michael Parkinson, Not Parkinsons you berk. Fantastic Interview.
Probably because it's via satellite and there's a sound and video lag, so the timing isn't as sharp.
LOL!
Note the flattering lighting on Bowie that eliminates the shadows that reveal the ravages of the aging process.
