Somehow Nik still hasn't realized that ABR spits at conventional song structure. They are composers at their core they can make work within whatever structure they want. It's one of the reasons they never get old. Additionally, they tend to really write from outside the box of metal. Bringing in aspects from other genres. Truly masterful!

This is my answer to why they’re so talented and their music on all discographies are all on point and never get old. There isn’t one song I can say I don’t like or isn’t good....

JB went out and said that he doesn’t like being labeled as metalcore cause he says bands have been making it generic and he likes to push the boundaries. You kinda notice how they never really have a set chorus or verse etc

This is one of ABR's very best songs in my opinion. The dudes are masters.
"Happy breakdown" Is an amazing summary of ABR in general... if you think drums are crazy on this song check Matt Greiner's live playthroughs, dudes a monster
That happy breakdown in the end is like eating your favorite ice cream flavor while crossing squads exchanging shots.

I've been listening to them since their very first album. And they were my first metalcore concert and man they play an absolutely badass concert.
ive just learned about them about a year ago now because of nik and his guitar covers. glad to say they are my #1 favorite metalcore band. they stayed true to there sound and even perfected it. and their concerts seem amazing. (jb and brent's guitar work is so unique and so fun to play which is another reason i love them so much)

Whenever ABR releases a new song I expect it to sound like this. I 100% accept that. Nothing innovative; but August Burns Red does this sound to perfection. I love it. ABR is one of those bands I never want to change. They release such consistent music.
Don't change what's not broken. They nail all their releases every single time. Slightly change from album to album to give it its own feel while staying true to their own sound.
I respectfully have to disagree. I like when bands try new things. I feel like the metal scene has become kinda stale for me lately. I respect that people still love ABR but they just don’t scratch the itch for me anymore.
@@joey9426 trust me if they changed their sound too much their fanbase would not be happy. Most of the time any band that has changed their sound fans have not be receptive of it BMTH, Memphis May Fire (I used to listen to them a lot), etc.
@@DeltaNadesU yeah I agree with you. I’m just saying that I’ll listen to there new songs and I’m like yeah it’s not bad and then I never listen to it again. It’s not that the new stuff is bad, it’s just generic and predictable in my opinion.
@@joey9426 fair enough. I personally thought Guardians one was of their best albums its my second favorite behind Constellations. Hopefully their next album changes your mind of their current music.

They have there own unique sound that most metal core bands have completely lost at this point and there still keeping new sounds coming
Strong agree! Many metalcore bands have the "nu-metalcore" style or the "Bring-me-the-horizon-core" sound.

While other bands in this genre/sound are recycling the same concepts and ideas, we have ABR, true masters of their craft, pushing the envelope and developing the entire genre of metal. (I get all bands have their motifs, but these guys are way more creative than a lot of bands currently in the scene. They also release new material... all. The. Time)

I've seen the phrase "angry music for happy people" used to describe their recent direction. Their attitude on stage (especially how Jake dances nowadays) and even the fact that they're screaming the entire song on top of major-key melodies, feels very tongue-in-cheek to me, which is kinda cool coming from a band that has been around as a legendary name for so long, but at the same time is a bit tiring after a while.
I've got a hoodie from them with that saying in big bold letters on the back lol. Always fun to wear to concerts lol.
