The wii didn't feel dead till 2011. 2010 had Galxaxy 2, Donkey Kong Country Returns, and Kirby Epic Yarn. 2011 was pretty much dead until Skyward Sword. And 2012 was even worse.
The long suffering transition was a byproduct of having 2 systems to support. They'd make their handheld transition fairly smoothly, but the old console would get forgotten in the new handheld's first-year hype before they'd start the hype for the new console launch.
I wouldn't mind Adventures as its the only one I have yet to play. However I much rather have Assault remake as its closer to what starfox is but also being the game with gameplay that would work better for modern gamers.
@@Cloud-dt6xb They've backed themselves into a corner where all they can do is put out box after box with higher specs and release a game or two every year to take advantage of said specs. Which they do, and they're greedy because their games never make back their budget, and they're losing sales for dealing with certain consultancy companies. It isn't looking good. At this rate I predict xbox dissolves into pc and playstation either makes boxes to compete with pc or goes third party and fails. People don't realize what the PS2 did in 12 years on the market the Switch is approaching in 8. PS2 was also a blu ray (right, or was it just DVD?) and certainly had discounts by year 8 (PS3 came out around that time I believe) while the Switch has none of those benefits and has yet to have a price drop. What I can't wait for with the Switch 2 is getting the AAA games that pass up the Switch. I got my Nintendo 1st party fix (and will continue getting that) but the few 3rd party games I want that pass up the Switch should be going to the Switch 2
@@17mrbrightside thanks for the clarification, I knew it was pretty much a 2 in 1 device, I just forgot what the other function was. Playing DVDs certainly did help it sell as much as it did
I think Nintendo will finally put out WW & TP HD now since they're mostly in as you said a transition period and wish to focus on making sure the Switch 2 has launch games. I also think there will be at least some talk of MP4 along with them releasing a new Mario Party. >That Star Fox in the thumbnail & talk of possible things to do with it. Nah I'd love to believe those but I've been let down by enough, so I'm super doubtful about that.
The first year of the Switch being loaded with so many first-party titles was a major factor in its success so this year being slow for the Switch after they announced the sequel system doesn’t concern me at all.
Hmm, I can see Nintendo bundling both Zelda games for free on the next Switch bundle this holiday. Maybe that's why they are sitting on it. If they do that, they can easily sell over 13 million as you'll get 2 games for free. Then, if you want just the games, then you'll have to pay $59.99 each for the Zelda ports. Let's see if that is what they are planning.
@@NintenDuvo08 Yup, but we do know Project Dragon will be on the Switch and/or Switch 2 because right after Rune Factory 3 Special was announced at a Nintendo Direct, a new Rune Factory series was announced eventually being Project Dragon.
I think it will, their really doing everything they can to make sure they don't have a repeat of the Wii U situation. The fact that their so cautious about it only makes me more confident the next one will be a hit. That and the fact that third party developers are excited about it too, Square especially seems confident if their already declaring it as part of their plans moving forward.
Star Fox Assault remake has started to slowly become more and more likely. At first it was just that Namco were the ones that originally developed Assault back on the gamecube and they are now remaking a old nintendo 3d action game. Now we've seen Star Fox get New trademarks and another gamecube game is coming to switch. My hope is high.

Where do you get the information that engage was an "anniversary game", and it sounds a bit like a downplay of this game. I think it's technically, visually and gameplay wise the best FE game of all time. The story and the writing is much better than people always say. There were cool anime like twists and comebacks. I really liked that. The dlc is kinda okayish. It's quite helpful tho in the main game.
Good point about re-releasing old games when they don’t need to push system sales. Makes me even more excited about this Direct. Hopefully they announce it for this week 😁😎💪🏻
I wantca remake of Star Fox Assault WAY over Star Fox Zero. A Star Fox Zero port would be difficult if not impossible because of how much that game utilized the gamepad and the motion controls. Could they port it? Yes but traditional controls still won't an option. Even if they could, it would be lylat wars AGAIN. Let's not push the narrative that Star Fox is only one game. Adventures as a remaster would be cool as its the only one I haven't played yet. Primarily though I would want Assault as that game had the right idea for the series it just needed a sequel game to polish it up
There's no way we're getting another mainline fire emblem game this year when last year they had engage come out. There's no way they'll have to main line games come out In 2 years back-to-back like that, and no 3 hopes isn't a mainline game, it's a spin-off so it does not count. What's a lot more likely is that they'll reveal it later this year and it'll be a title that Releases after the new console launches probably a couple months after that as well as being playable on the base switch. That would help avoid the same situation that the last remake suffered from with having poor sales. It would make sense that nintendo would want to have a fire emblem game in the Is first year of the new console since its a big ip for them. Also there seems to be confusion with the whole German board that Nintendo resistant engage to, it doesn't mean that engage was finished at a time it's just means that it was a near finish state at that time and it would come out. they probably did a lot of polishing and fine-tuning to actually make it complete and then released it
