Edit , the 80 gr eldvt became available after we recorded this video. It will cycle, but becomes slightly unreliable in much colder temps. In its current configuration. 103, 105, 108’s and our ammo run flawlessly.
I've put together two 6ARC uppers using ZEV receiver's Noveske BCG's. One with a 20" CMMG and the other is an 18" Noveske with the headspaced bolt. This is the first I've heard of S&W doing a 6ARC. Gonna have to look into maybe getting one. Have two M&P-15's and three M&P-10's in different configurations. Oh I forgot about the 12.5" Noveske barrel I have waiting to be put together. Great video on the 6ARC it's one of my go to calibers.
Wade. I love that you plan to tinker with the buffer system later even though it already runs great. I do that as well just to figure out what I like. It costs to learn. . .
*"Idk what it is about this configuration, but this just works."* I'll tell you exactly what it is. As someone with an obscene firearm hobby, that overspends on ridiculously expensive service clones; KAC, LMG, M100, ETC, I can tell you right now that *"IT,"* that intangible that makes this work, can 100% be attributed to the spray paint. It wouldn't matter how that thing shot, with a rattle can like that it would do it, does it for me.
I just ordered this rifle to use for a hog coyote and deer rifle in South Carolina. I wanted to build a gas gun 6mm. And to a 6gt gas gun I need to build an ar10 platform and order a barrel and bs. When i saw the 6 arc setups and smith made a rifle ready to go I got one. Part of me wanted to do the 20in dmr but running suppressed 16in I perfect length. Thanks for this review really helped me figure out who I use. Since I got 80 gr cx 108 eldm 109 eldm I ordered some 103 eldx for bigger game I can’t wait to slap the new thermal on do the super nice paint job and put in work with some hand loads I’ve studied on. Thanks wade for the 6arc info.
Mine is extremely over gassed suppressed. I had to add a bravo mk2 system with a t4 buffer to get it right. But it runs like a champ and is extremely accurate.
I have the S&W AR 15 Sport it groups great! I did change the trigger out and the hand guard to free float the barrel. I reload for economy and accuracy. There is a lot of snobbery out there, the S&W works accuracy is important to me as I shoot ground squirrels at long distances. The rifle is smooth and accuracy.
Hey, I know this has nothing to do with this video but...can you guys do a podcast on the difference between using small and large rifle primer brass for calibers such as the 308 and 6.5 Creed.
Small rifle primers in 6.5 Creedmoor or 308 are only a thing because lack of availability of Large or you shoot other small rifle cartridges a lot so you have them in bulk. Performance wise a worked up load is the same with the correct powders and capacity. Only negative some are reporting ignition failure in extreme weather for small rifle primers specifically to 6.5/308. A lot of competition guys use small because they also shoot 6 BR, 6 GT, Dasher so when they load 6.5 they have components.
Thanks for the video, love the rifle! A side note, it would be really cool if you created a stencil of the TPH mascot - the Punisher coyote thing - that you could rattle can onto your rifle. I would totally buy that.
I run a Leo m&p with all the fixings and that thing has some of the best fitment and function. I’m a huge smith fan. I own all the performance center handguns and folding pistol carbine. Great to see smith staying on top.
When you are at the range do you use a suppressor cover for mirage? If so which ones do you recommend? Don’t use one hunting but mirage is god awful long range target shooting
Picked up one of these from a forum unused for a steal. My first entry into the 6 arc world. I’m excited to check it out P.s. I don’t care to see this one meltdown I would love to see long term regular use, or even hard use report but a meltdown won’t tell me much
I would normally agree with that statement. However With this smaller diameter port and mid length gas system I would be curious to see how long it would take before the port erosion leads to cycling failures. (If the clamp on block would hold up)
@@txpredatorhunting yeah I think it must be some new TH-cam setting or something. I noticed the other day a guy had commented about it too, but I can't remember which video of yalls it was. No big deal I just try to save your sanity by not asking things you've answered other places lol
na, meltdowns are stupid. if that thing is running like you say. keep a journal on it, run the piss out of it, don’t treat it special. go at this thing for the long-term, giving updates along the way that would be cool..
The only guns that burn downs interest me, are the AR's marketed as "Hard Use Duty Reliable Rifles"....Okay show me what you can do versus a budget control gun included.
Hardly, its already in military service within a special mission unit, and being evaluated by another American SMU. Better ballistic coefficient than 6.5 grendel but delivers slightly less energy on target
No don't do it ,from what I've seen every gun is different, even when there the same make model and caliber. It just doesn't really tell us enough for it to matter.
I liked, commented and subscribed and now my 308 self identifies as a 6ARC. TPH changing lives out here.

Smith and Wesson is a great company as a whole. Glad to see them jumping on stuff

Also you should check out the Sharps Rifle Company Relia bolt , it’s S7 steel and shaped differently
Thus far I have not had a bolt issue, but I would definitely be interested in that topic you mentioned.

I have a rifle length gas 18in with H2 buffer A5 buffer tube with sup arms gas block. It runs great with conventional can or without
Can't wait for the bolt comparison.
Along with this S&W bolt, I hope he covers the Geissele bolt also.

I will put it on the list.

Go to johnnys reloading bench videos. He has a series about that. His reloading videos are the best there are on youtube.

What is your favorite 6mm ARC suppressor for hunting/light target shooting? 18” proof research barrel. The San Tan Tactical 6mm ARC.

Great paint job!
Melt downs are a waste assuming you are just mag dumping. They just test the gas block and tube.
It stress tests the system as a whole and you get an idea of the heat dispersion and thermal drift.🖖
I would normally agree with that statement. However With this smaller diameter port and mid length gas system I would be curious to see how long it would take before the port erosion leads to cycling failures. (If the clamp on block would hold up)
Is mid length gas system the same as system rifle length?
Wooot near the top comments. Keep it up, love the content
Definitely miss being able to see responses to comments on good questions. Thanks you tube. Still on my Mount Rushmore of channels though lol
If you hit the actual reply not the reply button it shows up for me.

Agreed. Meltdowns provide a data point, but it's a data point that isn't relevant for %99 of shooters

I was under the impression that the 6mm arc was dead in the water?
Why?
@@txpredatorhunting Numerous people I work with are convinced. They're trying to convince me not to build one.

Cr123 for the thermal… ok boomer.
Particularly for one you can’t get zoomer .
U said this has rifle length gas sytrm in other video. Or did i hear something wrong?
Thot i heard u say mid length this video
Do you have a nice presentation about yourself you just go get to the point sometime you kind of ramble too much
Less is more,no information unless u have a real opinion.
Could you elaborate ?
Wades running a thermal? 🫨
