Thank you so much! I'm learning how to have good etiquette table manners. I'm having an afternoon tea party for my daughter's birthday party and I just wish I can hire someone to teach all the little girls and parents who are coming how to have good table manner and the proper way to set a table. Good etiquette table manner is very important to me and also when dinning at restaurants. Again I thank you very very much.

Thank you for the tip about the knife in the cold tea pot. I found that out too late.

Yes, I discovered how expensive that mistake can be early in my career.

    Hello Ms. Gloria.
I would just like to say; Thank you for posting these wonderful and such educational videos. I'm writing to you with a question about the "First Pouring". I'm planning on having a group of gentlemen over to my house in the new year and I was wondering does the guest of honour I've selected pour for everyone, or just themselves? - There will only be about 4 to 6 young men including myself- I'm new to etiquette and am not too sure how this works. If you could be so kind to enlighten me and possibly go more in depth with the subject of "first pouring" I would be greatly appreciative.
Once again ma'am, thank you for your knowledge.
    Sincerely: R.N.C

Everything is about how it actually looks ! Lady, you're so right and so fierce , you make Ru Paul look scruffy .
Gloria Starr is such a drag name by the way but it suits you wonderfully , and you have an ARMY of gay followers and i truly say that with utter love and respect for your work.
Thanks for the videos, they are so instructive and you are so entertaining to watch .
I do have a question for you though , i you allow me . Let's say i have a tea gathering with guests from different countries . Which will probably happen at some point . I am Half Scandinavian (Icelandic and Danish on my father's side) and a third British/French/Russian on my mother's side and i am married to a Japanese (guy) and my neighbours here in Zurich Switzerland are from the Emirates . So if i have a tea gathering involving friends and family from Scandinavia, Britain , Russia , France , Japan and the Middle East what sort of tea would you suggest i serve and what tea set should i use ? Can i serve different kinds of teas at a tea gathering, would it be considered good manners or rather a breach of etiquette ? I know that my mother in law won't even be caught dead drinking tea with sugar added to it while my neighbours are addicted to mint tea and drink it ultra sweet, my Russian aunt won't drink anything but black tea , and my mother likes her earl grey or french Marriage et Freres favorite mix , my father drinks everything , mostly beer so he is no trouble.
So Lady Starr what do you think is the most appropriate thing to do ? And if you suggest that i serve different types of teas, does this mean that i should also serve cakes or other delicacies matching the types of teas , like cherry jam for the Russian auntie's Prince Vladimir Kusmi tea , tea biscuits or a french quatre-quarts cake or confectionery from Vienna or Patisserie Valerie for mum's white tea , some Omogashi from Toraya for mother in law's Gyokuro Cha, and some Al Bohsali sweets for the neighbours' mint tea ? And how about the tea ware and tea set , should i get a china tea pot for the white and british tea, a cast iron one for the Japanese tea, a gold or silver mint tea pot , and a samovar for the Russian black tea, and all the matching tea cups and saucers , spoon etc ... . It ill cost me a small fortune and 10 days to prepare for such tea gathering and i will have to hire staff to handle all the different tea sets and accompaniments .
Very tricky . What would Elizabeth II do if she had the emperor of Japan, Putin and Al Nahyan of Abu Dhabi simultaneously coming over for tea ? But more importantly , what would you do Gloria ?

Thank you so much for these wonderful videos. I have a question regarding the sugar packets: Where do we place them once we are finished emptying the sugar packets?

You can place the empty sugar packets on the edge or under the edge of your saucer.

I purchased my silver tea / coffee service at an antique show in Charlotte, North Carolina a few years ago. The gold tea pot was purchased in Dubai in the Meena Bazaar. You may be able to find a unique selection of tea pots on Arabic / Turkey / East Indian bazaar web sites.
